I really need to emphasise just how much I love Shinada and Takasugi’s dynamic. They’re an obvious parody on usual Buddy-Cop teams, but they’re both such amazing subversions on that archetype. You can tell from every interaction that these two aren’t “Friends” in the traditional sense, but they have such a great chemistry that you kinda WANT to see them get along and just shoot the shit together. That little moment of Takasugi extorting someone over the phone and Shinada telling him to shut up gets me every time, it’s such a small interaction that feels like it never should have happened based on their character archetypes, but RGG found a way to get them there
1:04:16 The newspaper, for some reason, wasn't translated in the remaster. It's weird because it was in the original ps3 localization. It says, "Sawada's late - night decision." Kinda like how Kiryu's line at the end of the 100-man brawl got cut.
The thing about hostesses in these games is that it doesn't feel like the characters are going there with the intention to hook up. That is also usually true in the real world, you don't go to a hostesses club to have sex but to just talk with some pretty girl, flirt and drink. There's many other different places to pay for sex. The girls in these games sleep with Kiryu or someone else because they want to, they like them, they like talking to them, they get support from them. It doesn't feel weird, at least to me. And it wasn't Takasugi who gave him the home run ball, it was the guy with sunglasses when they first met.
I swear every time I hear this dramatic music 46:05. I can only hear Riki's theme from Xenoblade right afterwards. It's slightly removed tension from seeds every time.
That moment with the bat was exactly what I wanted you to see. In a country where people like the yakuza get around the blade and gun control law by using things such as bats, Shinada, who is a weapons master, absolutely refuses to use them as weapons because he respects them as proper equipment too much.

While this episode was hilarious for the physics engine freaking out in the earlier bits, I'd like to point out a nice, if minor detail where you can see the guy who gasses the place crouched by the door *BEFORE* it happens here at 41:01 I think the remastered version's physics being especially jank is because a lot of the AI and mechanics/animations being dependent on the FPS originally being locked to 30 and now made to run at a higher rate. Another weird change in the remastered version (similar to Kiryu's line during the pier battle in Fukuoka being untranslated in the remaster) 1:11:21 Plot paused and substories resume 😂 1:46:38 It's a pity you already found it out through the stream chat saying it way before this episode, but at least you got to show Shinada respecting baseball bats in the LP.
18:08 And here, we see where that glass panel came from. It was clearly the glass skywalk above the street to help reduce foot traffic on the road. Unfortunately, it's entirely glass, so nobody can see it. Except for one man.
I feel I should mention that Takasugi is another case of an actual Japanese actor playing a character. That includes face capture as well. The actors name is Sho Aikawa.
Bonus: This is _not_ the first time he’s appeared in the franchise. No he actually first appeared in the Live-Action Takeshi Miike film first in a supporting role.

It kinda makes sense when you ask for a hostess they tell you about her personality more than anything because most people went there to have a nice chat, but this time it's just for pure sex of course the guy would tell you about her body to get you excited It's just a matter of different merchandise
Tbf, when it comes to Majima doing the hostess stuff in Y0 he was doing it to train the girls, since he was the one running the place. And unlike the other playable characters he never slept with them, even though they were clearly developing feelings for him. So with that in mind, I’d say that it was in character for him.
The dialogue in the part with Takasugi and Shinada's little hunt is so funny. But then the suspense music over Shinada's and Ayanokoji's part? Priceless.
Imagine after this whole "Majima is dead!" business, then it turns out he was just hiding under that big cone in Kineicho, going "Kiryu-Chan! Wait, who the hell are you?" when he sees Shinada. Turns out it was all an elaborate scheme to fight Kiryu, but he got the city wrong.
Upon learning that Takasugi used to be a fan of Shinada and his actual relations to the Nagoya Family, it puts their past interactions into a different light. Despite Shinada always being late on payments, always slacking and never really seem to do anything to deal with his loans, Takasugi seems to let him slide pretty easily. While he does threaten Shinada, he never really goes through with them. This can both be seen as him not really wanting Shinada to give up on himself so easily and make something out of his life, and also that he doesn't really have much force backing him up. Him adding to the loan can also be seen as another depth to his character, he is disillusioned that his favorite baseball player has fallen so low. A man who had shown such great promise, now fallen to writing articles for erotic tabloids for a cheap buck. Truly, Takasugi is a man who can be considered Shinada's greatest fan, seeing as he hasn't really given up on his idol. He also has a nice voice.
