What did you have to do to the Tuner for the DEF to cancel out
Did this to my 2016 Colorado because DEF tank kept freezing. Revolution Motors in Edmonton that did the work said it was the first one they were aware of in Canada.
No complaints at all since. Not one code thrown out in 5 years just about 200k km

GM is so PC now that they really want to get rid of all the diesels but sales are currently stopping them from that.
Unfortunately. I have a colorado with a tuner and its great 36 MPG and plenty of power for the size of the truck.
I'm finally getting mine deleted next week, bought the flopro and a tune like a month before this video and you saying they won't ship to the US anymore. Got it right in time i suppose lmao

11:15 Poor, abused farm truck. I'd want to know where the coolant went and fix the leak, there is surely air in the system now as well due to the chambered design of the surge tank. Proper maintenance and repairs are a priority! :) If you care about your vehicles, anyway.
interesting video. You do nice work. Running it at the end of the video it was putting out some serious diesel smoke. I'm guessing that is just one of the results of the DEF delete? It wouldnt have been the same before or no ?
I'm pretty sure that would be because it's able to breath again and the computer did the necessary adjustments at computer speed to clean up that smoke... Cleaned up almost immediately
Love your commentary but video is too short. I and I think most viewers want to see as the whole process as much as possible. E.g. Western Truck and Tractor Repair - he my #1 RUclips channel.
What I mean is the art of you fighting to take the old components off and replacing with upgraded ones is the prime entertainment we want see.
You’ve gotta be careful with what you show. My other YT channel got deleted last year when I showed a detailed video on how to delete def & egr. The reasoning I was given was “promotes violence against nature.” I shit you not.

It's not that hard of a job, i literally did mine just yesterday. The coolant reservoir doesn't have to be connected. Just loosen the 2 10mm nuts and flip it forward out of the way. also, unplug the battery and disconnect the ecm and remove it to make it easier to pull the downpipe up and out. Once it's unplugged, theres 2 plastic tabs on top of the ecm. push those upwards and the ecm pivots out and up to remove. Also, i didn't cut anything. i removed trans crossmember and used a floor jack and a 4x4 as a trans jack. flash before starting the delete

Nah the egr just stayed in this truck. The tune deactivates the valve.

I have same truck same year... but my DPF is humongous compared to what you removed. whats the deal did chevy change the DPF in production run?
Ive gotta do this to mine asap. Constant issues with the emissions systems. Just had my def pump, injector and, lines all replaced because the def froze and broke everything. This has happened every multiple times every winter since I bought it. If its not that its some other emissions related issue. I wont be able to afford all the work on the emissions system once my warranty runs out. Which is in 5000km. definitely need a delete or get rid of the truck altogether.
I know it’s ridiculous! I don’t understand how they expect people to keep the emissions intact when it constantly fails, costs thousands to repair, and the parts are often back ordered.
@@darkirondiesel Exactly it's insane. I love everything about the truck except the fact it's been in the shop more than any other vehicle I've ever owned combined. All for thevstupid emissions system. Thanks for the video though. I'm excited to chop all that garbage off my truck haha.

I'm all for clean exhaust, and I actually really like the quiet and lack of smell and soot of the stock system, no doubt the emissions system is very effective when it's working properly. BUT my biggest fear is getting stranded far from home due to some BS emissions code. So as much as I think the emissions systems are necessary for the world, I really can't blame anyone for deleting given the trouble and expense they seem to bring so often.

I see the site is locked down. Theoretically: I had a EFI based tune on my 2017 2.8 and the offroad tune option was no more because of federal pressure on the tuner people, could I state I'm from somewhere else with another tuner person to get the rest of the delete? I regret not paying the extra $50 at the time since now my system blows white smoke for a solid minute during a regen.

The full exhaust sounds okay, but in terms of small diesel the ALH 1.9L sounds much better
Does everyone know if you can leave the DOC with the tune? To me its still too loud with muffler. DOC is pretty much just a catalytic converter and has nothing to do with DEF, Regens, or EGR right?
What did you end up doing with that injector?.....in your video, you said you didn't know what you were going to do with it.
I disconnected it and removed the stainless steel line running across the cross member.....but it sprayed diesel out all over the place, when I started the vehicle.
I clamped on a small piece of fuel line with a bolt in it, to block it off temporarily, but it swells....I wouldn't trust it to drive any distance, in case it ruptures and spews' fuel.
So until I figure it out....my truck will be down. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated....Thanks in advance.

If a delete gains mpg and gives your engine long term reliability then to hell with the emissions system.
Now if the local air starts to look like modern China then yes I would vehemently approve the E. systems.
Except they don’t require nearly as many emissions on gas vehicles even thought they creat so much more issues “environmentaly”. People just see black smoke from diesel and thing mmm smoke bad...
Not to mention the amount of fuel it takes to transport DEF across the states, and the trash from DEF containers. It makes zero sense to me.

Government and military vehicles are emissions exempt.
Ammonia in the air is far worse than some harmless particulate. Besides, coal rolling homeless meth heads panhandling at every intersection is awesome.

@@GenkiDamaSSJ stab in the dark.... but either it did not actually have any. Or, perhaps it was not driven long enough/far enough every few weeks or so. YOu need to drive them on a long trip every couple of weeks. The system will allow the exhaust temp to rise, which then blows out the crud that accumulates in the DPF. restricted DPF=exhaust codes.
Obviously Flo-pro doesn't think you need a flex pipe but it just feels wrong without one to me. What are your thoughts?
I don’t think it matters. The flo-pro exhaust weighs a fraction of what the original exhaust weighs. I think the rubber hangers are enough.

You can delete in California it just depends what county you live in. Mendocino, parts of Sonoma, etc don’t emissions test

I was wanting to get a 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 bison diesel, I heard those engines aren't good, is that true? Then I heard you have to delete the emissions right away?
Mopar mechanic told me avoid, not good engines.
What about the 3.0 duramax diesel in the Chevy 1500?
Haven't heard about the 3.0.duramax, honestly it seems the the 1500 gas engines can pull just as much weight as the diesels. If it were me I'd wait a little longer to see repairs needed on the newer engines.

@@CGR72 gas and diesel have always had similar tow rating . It’s about the low end torque and fuel savings. I have a 3.0, and it’s wayyy better than my 2016 5.3 gasser

Because the whole point is to get rid of the original pipe. The original pipe is packed full of filters and sensors.

So the EGR isn't removed?
No it’s still on the truck, but the tune deactivates the egr system so the egr valve that lets exhaust back into the engine should remain closed therefore not letting exhaust back in the engine.
@@darkirondiesel while true, I deleted/removed my egr as a big fuck you to the EPA (Elites Pissing on Averages).
Still the cleanest way and by far the preferred method, is to actually do a true stop off after the tune delete.
Honestly, I feel that this sounds like shit. I have the MBRP exhaust on mine and it sounds pretty nasty and with the CAI, its very turbo heavy till you get on it. It has that duramax cackle, just a little higher putched 😂
