You're correct, she was deeply in love with Gram. She wrote "Boulder to Birmingham" about him. And while she has promoted his music, Gram's body of work stands on its own merit. Gram's mom's family was extremely wealthy. He grandfather was a citrus magnate from Florida. He lost both parents- Dad to suicide, mom to alcoholism- before he graduated high school and received around $75K ($425K in today's dollars) annually from the family trust. Lets all agree that this Bee Gee's song is one of those classics. One of several that they created. That is, a great song that is also malleable by each individual artist. My opinion, for what it's worth (2 cents), Gram does a credible performance on this song. Obviously his voicing is unique and I think he does a great job on this song.. But I think the original Bee Gees already performed that with their original version...OK, with Australian/English accents, but they sang their souls out with it. Best to all.

Thank you!! Gram's rendition is MORE than arguably better
ONE OF THE GREATS
GODS OWN SINGER GOING HOME.🙏
That's right☺
Amazing voice and talent. Gone way too soon
Could listen to this endlessly, love background singers, Great.
I had dinner with one of the guys who helped out with Gram’s “cremation” in Joshua Tree. He was a walking chapter in the history of American music.
:0
to be honest, i had never heard
of him until today. great voice.
So glad you found him. He put out six albums, all of them good and four of them great. We can all spread the word about his great talent. So happy I finally saw the light. Big thanks to Jojo.
HE INVENTED COUNTRY ROCK
I would like to think he is up there in heaven making music we haven't heard yet
☝🏻 I like that
I loved this song so much back then. It's beautiful.
so before his time !! I love him
Blissful harmony
I didn't know much about Gram until I heard the song "Emmylou" by First Aid Kit about him and Emmylou. But I do remember the weekend he died as it was also the weekend my parents' friend Jim Croce died. My dad used to sing with Jim in the Villanova singers and Jim was one of the first of their friends to die way too young. One of my first memories as a 4 year old. Such a horrible week for music. ruclips.net/video/Hi5A9OCAyIk/видео.html
I really liked jim Croce and he was just beginning to make his noise like Gram. If they both would have lived just no telling the music they would have made.
I liked them both but Gram was my favorite. I liked all his songs but croce just a few.
Rare talent from past and future so good, he was the BEST 💯
this man was beyond beautiful
Ken Burns just delivered the truth...Gram Parsons created a landslide of style in "Country Music" to broaden the futures of so many contemporary country artists of today!! An Ivy League musician turned to country heart and soul...sounds familiar...
When early 70s Nashville shuns you, you attract a young Emmylou to do backing vocals and Keith Richards welcomes you to his Exile home at the same time - you got something. Miss ya Gram
Thank you, whoever sent this to me. He was such a leader befoore it was his time. His combination has just come around since around 2000 (Kid Rock is the excekption,,, He is his own, kinda like Gramm, yetn not the same)
Kid Rock? Be serious!
Sat through an hour of Kid Rock who opened for Bon Jovi. I'd rather spend an hour at the dentist. For Gram, on the other hand, I'd walk from Boulder to Birmingham or farther.
how can anyone down emmy lou her and gram were great together
Certainly the best cover, ever.
Moved to Winter Haven in 79…..this guy was a legend…played a lot of music there….he was real and ahead of his time!
Yipes. Never heard this in my Gram -ing. Too good, too sad.
My favorite song ever 😄😄😄😄
