Great video. Someday I’ll be in the market for a bigger boat so I’m always very appreciative of video like this especially when you go through your pros and cons. Thanks for all the info. 👍
Great vid. I'm in the "same boat"...I'm a guide on Lake of the Woods, Canada. I am currently in a 2025 Impact XS. Good guide boat, but looking to switch up to glass. Thanks for the review, it was just what I was looking for.
Great vid. I agree the Lund GLs are solid. Take a beating in the rough water and hold up. Also the high dry weight combined with the long, low keel make it ride nice at speed in taller waves, especially with tabs. Rangers are lighter and faster but don’t handle rough water at speed as well IMO. Had same problems with batteries and switched the starter and house batteries to lithium. That seemed to help. I did have a problem with the mount plate for the live well pump. It cracked and the pump leaked a little. I do abuse it so I wasn’t surprised. That was the only other issue I’ve had. U get 9’ rod length storage in the longer version of the Gl if that’s a big issue for people. Thanks for the detailed video. maybe share some MPG stats from ur Mercury plugin this summer?
Thanks man! I'd like to maybe switch to lithium too but...you know...money! I'll have to check into the MPG thing on the Vessel View, kinda forgot about that.
Good review. The good and the bad. Always things to tweak even with a new boat. Frustrating dealing with them though. Nice to have good warranty service people to work with. I had battery and a transducer issue on my new Ranger too. Love glass boats. What an upgrade from aluminum in the ride!
I got a Skeeter WX2200 (love it)....like you the issues I have are not Skeeter....but its still frustrating to have to deal with them when you are in a new boat that isnt cheap. My ulterra is very temperamental with stow/deploy...will have to try to lube the spring just havent wanted to pull it apart yet. My last boat's Ulterra did not have this issue. Good review of your boat.
Interesting…I hope the welding my friend did is more stable! The trailer is not super impressive. Also have issues with the fenders sagging down over time and coming loose.
@@BloemendaalFishing yes I have a older 2015 trailer but the fenders on my are all cracked out and the liners are loose flopping around on them, but I bought it used and was quoted over 10k for a new one to order a galvanized one. 0 trade in value for the old one
@@BloemendaalFishing the boat mate trailers are custom built for the lund hulls, so you can't just put another boat on them and the market for a busted used trailer that only fits one boat is pretty small
That's odd power steering uses that much power... I have an auto pilot with hydraulic pump on my Tyee that steers main and kicker. Can troll all day long with kicker charging a single battery that is running down riggers, autopilot, graph, stereo, and the live well. Volts stay at 14 all day with kicker running. I have 4 batteries up front for my bow trolling motor separated for trolling slower on a smaller lake.
Sounded like a nice honest review. I wish I would have had some honest reviews during my purchase decisions.
Seems like it would be worthless if it weren’t honest 🤷♂️
400 days in 3 years!!! Wow! That’s a hell of a review. You just put Lund on my radar! Thanks Brett
Hey, you bet! Thanks for watching.
@@BloemendaalFishingI may get a guided trip with you first!
You know where to find me! Sounds like a good time.
That's a solid review through and through!
Thanks, man!
Thanks for the update on the boat! i've been waiting for this haha. Appreciate the content sir!
It was (almost) all for you! Haha!
@@BloemendaalFishing LOL. you're the man!
Eh, I try. I needed the inspiration.
😂@@BloemendaalFishing you're a busy man i'm sure!
Well, not as busy in winter, but I’m not bored.
Great review. I’m running a 1875 Impact. One day I’ll go fibreglass and yes, I do watch your fishing videos 👍
Ha! Thanks. That Impact is a solid boat, but the fiberglass certainly makes rough water easier if you can swing it.
Nice review, I picked up a 2024 202GL last September. Only got it out out twice but I love it so far.
Thanks man! Hope you get it out more this year!

I’ve certainly learned a lot, but in a good place now. Thanks for your insights.

Thanks man. I guess all boats are frustrating at times.
Everyone should have a support on the gunnel for the trolling motor close to the head. for road travel and especially on the water..!!!
Couldn't agree more.
Do you have any problems reading depth at hi speed with step transom? I do with my Lund Tyee 189 GL
Rarely...it does lose depth on occasion, but I'd say 98% of the time it's not a problem.
I had that happen to my boat mate trailer this past summer as well

Oh, of course…good point.
Any problems landing the boat by yourself ? think of buying a 2023 left over fish myself quite a bit.
No sir
My lund pro v has hydraulic steering...2019 225 proxs still on the original batteries..I use a small lithium for panoptics..
Yeah, the electric is a battery drainer hardcore!
Only upgrade at this point would be a Yamaha SHO. 😄
I’ve heard good things!

Interesting. Yeah, I never would have guessed it was going to be a problem either till it was.
Try Warrior
Noted.
The biggest mistake was buying a lund
