I thoroughly enjoyed this video. What a great set of positive only comparisons. I own a 2019 2075 Pro-V & can absolutely relate to what your comparisons are. Kudos for putting a potential $$ to beaching & glass damage repair. My dealer's said "glass is so easy to fix compared to aluminum" but never once mentioned the ballpark associated costs. What you missed on describing the pre-2023 Pro-V? Same fuse panel, same location the 2005 2025 Pro-V has & this video is 17 yrs later...still fuses! ALL bow cabinet lids flex when they're stepped on because there are no horizontal lid supports to strengthen them. Many of the compartment lids do not have pistons to keep the lid open. The cooler is not insulated. The rocker panel of switches flexes every time a switch is switched because there is no support behind the plastic (aka cheasy) bezel. Lund removed plywood backing under the starboard gunnel & it sounds cheap & tinny because it's hollow (can't have it on the port side because of a rod locker on the top, so that makes sense). Mount any net in the track vertically & observe the gunnel literally flex every time the net moves even in a slight wind. Your review is all positives: Are you Lund sponsored? The aluminum is a wet ride, no doubt about it...not a slightly wetter as described. It might be drier than other makes/models, but it is a wet ride, period on 2+ footers (that's not much of a chop IMHO- my windshields are always drenched (granted mine is a 2075, not a 2175 but the bow sizes are identical. The extra 1' is in the cockpit floor length) I don't fully agree with what you said about the tracks. 1 point missed is TraxsTech black tracks will scrape the black paint showing every single set screw position on the 1st tries. Mine did in
As someone who is looking at new boats and new technology, you did a fantastic review. You answered a lot of my questions. I appreciate ya bro. I fish Lake Ontario and the river systems in Upstate, NY. Great review on an all waters boat.
I lost one Cannon rigger few yrs ago from it coming lose on the knob and just sliding out. Check that knob often. I have since put a bolt through my slide release to prevent the rigger from ever coming off.
I have that exact 2175 limited , it's a beast . Not having storage in the back would drive me nuts . My real concern / reason for not getting my the glass is where they are manufactured & I have seen some issues with cracking gel coat & especially on transoms with all that HP . Hopefully they get that under control !
Excellent video I have been waiting for something like this for a long time. I asked you about this a couple of times in the past. Thank you for your opinion on this. I fish the bay of Green Bay and Lake Michigan, but I also spend 2 weeks a year in Canada with lots of rocky shore lunches.
I made the switch to fiberglass 39 years ago, back when almost all fishermen used aluminum. 39 years later my Boston Whaler still looks like new and being re-powered runs like new as well.
I ran a Ranger 620 for 10 years. Sold it because it was simply too heavy for me to manage at a launch by myself (I am in 60's). Switched to a 19' Lund Impact. LOVE this boat, but it's nothing like the Ranger 620 in rough water. It's not a rough water boat. So ya know what ??? I simply do not fish in rough water any more. Simple. That Ranger 620 is still the single best freshwater fishing boat on Earth....no 2 ways about it. I love my Lund however, as it provides me the important things so I can enjoy the sport.
Have you guys been able to compare the ride / performance of the 189 Pro V GL verse the 219? I am looking at pulling the trigger on one, and am leaning towards the 189. I do similar style fishing around the great lakes, typically 2-3 man crew. Any input is appreciated.
No we havent been in the 189. Looks like a great boat tho. If you are 2-3 people, i bet it would fish good. I usually say 4 people is max for the 219 so if you are 2-3 people, the 189 would be a good choice!
Great video! Question, I'm looking for big water boat (baron or tyee). I thought the reinforced gunnels were to make them solid for rigger use but your comment in video now has me questioning that.. Or, does the pro v not have same gunnel support as baron/tyee? I'm going tin over glass due to fishing river during ice out and shore access without docks alone..
Like it!👍👍 I have been trying to decide on a Lund model for fishing salmon & trout on lake Michigan, west Michigan side ( windy rough side of the pond) lol, and also use for walleye & muskie. Thanks for the review, you kind of reaffirmed what I was thinking.
IMO you missed my favorite feature of the 219.... trim tabs. I own a 219 and that boat with trim tabs is a completely different animal. You can't add trim tabs to an aluminum hull boat.
My aluminum boat is dry as a bone. Starcraft Delta 188 DC Pro. I've blasted 4 foot wales at 40 mph and no wet ride. 3 foot chopm perfectly dry. What I notice is tgat fiberglass boats, being way heavier, ride nicer......but they also drink wag more fuel. The Delta 188 rides as close to as nice as a glass boat as any aluminum I have ever been in.
the only thing i can say was wrong. if u smash something with glass you can fix it. Aluminum boat its not getting fixed and depending how bad, your getting a new boat.
Now let’s compare real glass boats against that junk glass Lund. This video is really comical. No storage from the windshield back on the 219……Shit layout, ride and wet as hell…. not to mention way overpriced.
Overpriced? compared to what? Vexus and Ranger? Also - there is storage, and its removable which is awesome. we simply opt not to use it because the front deck has enough for all our gear. We havent had any problems with wet-ness. Dry ride for us.
@@SuperiorAngling It’s funny you put Vexus and Ranger in the same sentence. You really should put Nitro, Ranger, Triton and Lund in the same sentence. All low quality junk produced by either White River Marine or Brunswick. Wanna support a great Minnesota company, how about Warrior? 10 times better boat then any Lund!

Your channel is awesome!! Such great examples and thorough information!!! I’m a aluminum Lund guy myself!!
Thanks Zach!!
for riggers falling off you can add a traxtech cap on the ends of the rails. Kind of a pain for removal but will prevent the riggers from falling.
Forsure, they just suck to take on and off and then we would lose them after a week. LOL.

where are the glass boats manufactured? I've seen mixed responses on Mexico vs Tennessee
Very very good review. Your knowledge is very easy to see that you know what your talking about
I have the aluminum 1875 Impact....I like it's thin gunnels over the wide Pro-V gunnels.
Me too. Multi species fishing capability, easy to maintain, less weight/gas while trailering, lake erie or small lakes. Love my Impact for sure!
I have a 2020 impact sport 19' , I bass fish leisurely and tournaments, very good boat. Love it but want a Bass Cst

Great info ! I'm considering a fiberglass boat & didn't think about the rocks . If your going 4mph & hit a rock. Will it cause significant damage ?
Isn’t it the weight that makes the ride better

Does the Lund come with the track system you have your tree and rigger mounted to? If not where do I find one. I’m very interested in one

Is that rod rack removable if you were casting the front deck

If you are losing riggers you need to mount the stopper plates. Your going to get ? On that
I was just looking at boats today and this looks like a sign from god to just get the boat lol!
Fyi, put end caps from traxtech on track and nothing can slide out :) no more lost riggers.
I hear the Lund glass boats have transom issues
Can’t beat the glass for big water
Great video
15 years or now, the aluminum boat will still look good.
Which is which
the only thing i can say was wrong. if u smash something with glass you can fix it. Aluminum boat its not getting fixed and depending how bad, your getting a new boat.
also insurance will most of the time take care of ur "rock hits" in glass. And spending 1k-5k to fix something when your boat is 120k is nothing.
Aluminum so I can pull it up on to a rocky shore.
“There is no difference in riding 3ft waves?”
Bro plz be serious.
You should quit using the numbers or feet and specifically stick to aluminum fiberglass phrasing
Hope all's well with the cat bro. Let's get out
Slow down bro
Right needs a bong rip before public speaking

don’t listen to this guy…..go research NorthRiver, Duckworth, Raider, Hewescraft, Thunderjet, RH Boats…..thank me later
