There's an update from Super7 regarding the missing paint on Jackalman. They are going to be shipping out a replacement part to everyone who bought Jackalman, no matter where you bought him. Details in this video: ruclips.net/video/6bJ5aSqI0qw/видео.html&app=desktop
Thanks for highlighting the issues, PD, especially the reversed shins on Jackalman. It's unfortunate that while asking for a premium price from us, Super 7 makes so many boneheaded errors. *Sigh*. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to swap the lower legs *again*. I watched Brian Flynn's video addressing some of the paint errors...the video isn't searchable on YT, and he didn't even mention the problem with the legs. And while he's making replacement parts (Panthro's trunks and the collar piece for Jackalman), we have to pull apart our figures and reassemble them ourselves. I don't mind doing the work, but I don't like the risk of damaging my figures to fix them. Uh. I was very excited about this first wave. But it's a bummer. Hopefully, the other waves live up to the hype and the asking price. It's unacceptable quality for a $45 figure.
Gotta say, these are really $20 figures, not $45 figures. These issues really shouldn’t be happening on a figure in this price range. As much as I love your more upbeat style of reviewing I do wish you’d take these companies to task more, especially when for many of us you’re our only voice that they will hear.
Also the black weapons were supposed to be painted two tone purple on the shotgun n the pistol n the neck piece were supposed to get painted weapons n neck piece
The reversed shins are easy to fix, just heat them up, pop the pieces off and swap them. It took me 5 minutes to swap them on my mattel version, including boiling the water.
So was the original mattel figure price in the mid $30’s or 40? This super 7 one is $45 and it’s worse than the mattel one. It’s like super 7 just made bootlegs with mattel’s molds
Brian said he will be giving the corrected painted neck fur piece and the corrected colored weapons. The shin mistake is a pain and I’m bummed by that, but I will still get him. Super7 should use this huge mistake and Panthro’s, to pay close attention to their product and specially Thundercats.
He is a cool looking figure, glad they are offering to replace the fur armour piece, and weird they didn't fix the leg issue from the previous figure, but he looks great aside from that, awesome review ☺️
Like I said in the Lion-O review I'm a new fan to Thundercats and even though I don't have any nostalgia for it I'd love to get some action figures but these just don't seem acceptable for a lot of reasons. Another issue I saw is Jackalman's guns are the wrong color. Also besides the production issues and that these were supposed to have improvements it bothers me that the versions they've been showing up to release are clearly better. Even the pictures I've seen up on stores right now have the joint pins covered, less of a gap around Lion-O's chest, and maybe better paint as well.
I have no Thundercats toys and had pre-ordered Super7's Tygra as a mid-price display of my favorite character from the show, but I'm seriously considering cancelling that order.
Either the factory messed up on purpose or Super7 didn't do their job but either way this is unacceptable.. Especially the inverted calves. How do you not even notice that as the manufacturer?? I'm scared of messing it up if I try to fix it myself.
Great review Dan! Sucks about the shins though. Wouldn't you be able to pop out the pin and then switch the shins & feet? Its more than you should have to do on a almost $50 figure but just wondering.
And the fur paint on the chest/stomach is done a little more cheaply. Mattel's picked it out so it'd look like it was actual fur. And Super7 has more spots on the gauntlet.
@@marioreyes6471 I don't get whats so funny dude you're exaggerating. Single jointed elbow and knees sure, they're not Marvel Legends they're bulkier. Ab crunch works just fine bends forward and back and their heads look up just fine depending on the figure just like Marvel Legends.
I dig the figure, but I do prefer the more muted colors of the Mattel release. Looking at the paint app on the chest, the Mattel has a more fur like application. The Super 7 version is too clean and straight.
I am going to be really picky here. But should the baddies not have their own artwork on the back Mumma-ra and the Muntents together. Jackalman buckle on his harness is wrong it should be black with a 🌟 on it. Making it Red makes him look like he should be in the Thundercats. Sorry but as people say it's they little things.
The ThunderCats art on the back of the Lion-O box was promotional art done by Mike Germakain. There was never a companion piece for it featuring the Mutants.
Unacceptable.... Super7 should recall all defective figures and provide corrected replacements. The swapped legs actually makes me angrier than the missing paint issue. That's the kind of thing you return a figure to the store for, but here, they're *all* defective, so there is no good replacement available! I'm not paying $45 to have to disassemble my own figure! Again just like Lion-O, this is a sloppy lack of work ethic on the part of Super7.... Do they ever examine the products they make...?! Apparently not.....
Brian has updated to the paint issues ,ie the yellow neck & the weapons were meant to be purple ...he's sending out a second pack of parts in October to fit a new neck piece ,also panthros dark blue pants issue ... but i dont know what happened with the shins & duplicate double hands ? Maybe Brian can enlighten us with that one ...maybe we will get re release of lion-o 'red outfit' further down the line or a new jackalman as we did with masters he man , skeletor & she ra 🤞🤞
Got the Mattel figures, my Lion-O super 7 just got shipped, Id soon find out myself if the figure deserves the hate its receiving.. (by people who claim who didnt order anyway)...
I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I kind of like the neck unpainted. It makes the muzzle stand out a bit which is neat. :) Great review, as always. This line might not be perfect right out of the gate, but I' still digging it so far.
. . . am I the only one here, who is just glad to be able to get these figures without paying some damn exhorbitant scalper price? It's boil and pop time! Easily fixed!
Super7 released video stating that they would fix Panthro and Jackal man for the trunks and Paint apps on the neck and weapons for jackelman free of charge. its on the Super7 youtube page.
But in all seriousness thanks for another great review. I wish people weren’t so hateful on this line already. I mean really, all I want is a modern complete team and it might really happen this time.
Im just glad we are getting them. Super7 should have never released the Mattel stuff. Seems like its just a disaster because people are comparing too much. I'm fine with the articulation.
Dan, I'm surprised that you are not already aware that Super7 sent out a message that they are aware of the coloring mistake on Jackalman's neck and his weapons, as well as Panthro's loincloth. They are having their factory produce a kit to correct these mistakes that will be shipped out to everyone who ordered them as well as an extra Panthro head. Would have been worth including that info in your video.
@@dongvermine I still don't get it. Dan says they are "backwards". The calves are on the back and the shins are in the front, like it's supposed to be. Dit they mistake the left for the right?

Hey Dan - Fixed my Jackalman's legs with a bit of elbow grease and boiling water. Totally worth it!
Man....this should be $15 bucks tops... what a shame. This line is really cursed
$15? Please show me where I can get 7 inch action figures for $15
@@edstar83 McFarlane has great 7 inch figures way better then these don't be a cuck
Can they not just give us a new Jackelman with a correct paint job and correct shins.
It's like Super7 copied from Mattel's test and copied their wrong answers too 🤭😆
😁
Right 🤦🏽♂️ lol
Lol!!
Zen Brown Do his knees interfere a lot in his poses?
Inveted calves AGAIN, how is it possible?
Brian Flynn lies, he said they fixed it.
If they do the Lunatacs or Zaxx they are going to look badass! I can’t wait to see Ratar-O and Ssslithe
Welp Ratar-O's on the way and Slithe is probably one of S7's best.
The reversed shins are easy to fix, just heat them up, pop the pieces off and swap them. It took me 5 minutes to swap them on my mattel version, including boiling the water.
Did you use any tools to pop them off?
Mark Seven Da Issue no, just gently pull the pieces off with your hands once you’ve warmed them up sufficiently.
Do the feet swap just as easily and do you have to pop out any pins?
This version has straight lines between the two tones on his body, these figures should be less costly

Is super 7 remaking jackleman without peg holes like the new figures?
Super7 Ultimates! ThunderCats Wave 1 JACKALMAN Action Figure
These figures articulation is dated by 10 years.
They should've hidden the pins as an aesthetic upgrade at least, TMNTs look so much better with that detail.
The MOTU classics line started in 2008. This buck still holds up to this day.
@@edstar83 lmao it does not hold up it's dated. Single jointed elbows and knees. Ab crunch that barely works. Heads can barely look up.

I never noticed the shins. I'll have to look at mine and see if I can fix them.
I think they didn't paint the neck to match the chest because the original toy doesn't have paint on his neck that matches the chest
Do the new heads still fit on the original figures that Mattel released?

You can like whatever but it it still isn't accurate to the source material.
It’s cheaply made, poorly articulated, sloppily painted and objectively incorrect. Little worse than “not perfect out the gate”

How different companies do the same sculpt..?
Or maybe i'm wrong.....please correct meee
Same Mattel tooling, inherited all issues, really disappointed.
These figures look a lot more like mass market, $10.00 TMNT figures, rather than $45.00 "premium" figures. What a rip off.
You can't even get Hasbro Marvel Legends for $10 mass retail. You've obviously never had any in hand. Just hating because you can.
