As an adult I rarely eat pb&j, but I gotta say… Uncrustables are DELICIOUS! You and Jacob need to try them for a video!
The problem with uncrustables is we love the crust, it's the best part!

In North Carolina, the classic tomato sandwich is a favorite with home-grown tomatoes, mayo salt/pepper on lightly toasted white bread. Another favorite is pimento cheese (for a sandwich or a dip). You can buy a small tub at most any NC grocery stores. It is finely chopped American cheese, mayo, and small pieces of pimento in the midst of a lot of cheese. Bacon can be added for either pimento cheese or tomato sandwiches. Tomato sandwiches are usually a summer snack.

The ones they made us in school were peanut butter mixed with honey and to me those are the best. You mix them together then spread in on wonder bread. Peanut butter and banana sandwiches are really good too.😃

Jif! You chose wisely. Jelly is just congealed sugar really, jam is better, but preserves in theory have more fruit in it. Also the store brand is every bit as good as Smucker's which is pretty much the JIF of jam/preserves. And Fluff is a gift from the GAWDS.
Every lunch my mom made for me during my junior high and early high school years there was ALWAYS a PBJ with some type of chips, usually potato chips or Fritos. PBJ is a staple, in fact this video made me hungry for one. Now I am going to have to make a PBJ or two to eat right after I finish watching this video.
I could go for a PB&J with some plain Utz chips!

Actually, your supposed to put peanut butter on BOTH sides of the slices of bread. Then the jelly goes between the peanut butter. That way your bread doesn't get soggy. I learned this from my daughter when she came home from school one day and proceeded to educate me on the correct way to make a pb&j

Love that you finally tried a PB&J, i agree with Jacob they are kinda dessertish but if you really want to try a dessert kinda sandwich definitely try a peanut butter and marshmallow fluff. very sweet but suprisingly good.
Great choices. Concord grape jelly is the best to start with. Then use that as your baseline for other varieties.
Jelly = no seeds
Jam = has seeds
Marmalade = includes peelings (like peach skins)

This is just an FYI Jen; jellies is more sugar and a touch of, fruit flavoring. Basically you have more sugar in the jelly, preserves and jams are more of the fruit with the sugar of how it’s made so you get more fruit in preserves and jams, then you do jelly. Just an FYI 😊
We do strawberry preserves in my house, and I ways spread peanut butter on both slices of bread first, then add the preserves. So it'll be bread, p.b., preserves, p.b.,bread. The peanut butter acts as a barrier, so the preserves dont make the bread all soggy and gross.
I always ate peanut butter toast for breakfast growing up and later I learned that President Truman ate peanut butter toast for breakfast too.
I'm an old lady and I still like Peanut Butter, My favorite brand is an old Michigan Favorite called Velveeta with a preference to chunky texture. Used to prefer Jam over Jelly, hated marmalade (my dad's favorite). I usually put banana on my sandwich, not deep fried like Elvis.
Goober Grape? Yeah my dad brought that home once when it first came out, didn't really care for it.

I have always loved peanut butter and jelly. Heavy on the PB with a skim coat of jelly or jam. My first choices are crunchy with grape or raspberry. I am a huge fan of BLTs. I use bagged salad and pre-cooked bacon for convenience. Warm the bacon in the microwave to enhance the bacon flavor. I never brown-bagged my lunch. That seemed like a hassle to me.

Really liked this video. I love the vibe you two have. I grew up on p&j but I’m with Jacob when it comes to sitting in a baggie for hours. Yuk! Try the orange marmalade spread thinly on toast Jenny. I think it’s delicious. And Jacob get Jenny down south so she can try all the comfort foods from that region. Safe travels to the both of you.

It's okay that you never had a PB&J before, Jenn. Millions of people have never had a PB&J. In parts of the world they've never heard of it. I just don't know anyone who hasn't had one. Jelly is just fruit juice, jam is made with mashed fruit, preserves is made with whole fruit or large fruit chunks. Marmalade has fruit peel in it. (we have a jam making business, we have a yummy orange ginger marmalade) traditional pb&j is made with grape jelly, but we make ours on wheat bread and hubby's favorite jam is the orange ginger marmalade, my favorite is our strawberry champagne jam, and i prefer crunchy peanut butter.

Reese's peanut butter is the best (if they still make it or can find it) grape jelly always (hate seeds and fruit lol) but you also need to put alittle butter on the bread before the peanut butter, it wont stick to your mouth! Love you guys!!!
As a kid I lived on pb&j life would have never been the same, I was a picky eater and my mother could always get me to eat a pb&j sandwich. I still love them, sorry a ketchup sandwich grosses me out, my husband eats ketchup on crackers and I can’t even watch him eat it🤮

Hey Jenny, I love watching your videos and just watched this one...I make home made jams and jellies. So the difference between jelly, jam, and marmalade is... Jelly just uses the fruit juice while jam uses the fruit juice and pureed fruit as well. Marmalade uses the fruit juice, fruit chunks and the fruit peel. Hope that helps. Keep up the fun videos. I look forward to the next one.
Mix 'n match: any type of fruit slices (my sister likes fig--ick), honey drizzle, Nutella, any type nut butter, fluff, sliced almonds, fruity spread, bacon, apple or peach butter, chocolate chips, artisan bread if that's your thing. Nut butter both sides of the bread to prevent the jelly soaking thru. Jacob's right--if it does, the sandwich becomes inedible. 😝 Here's my secret: butter (dairy butter this time, although spray butter works great) both outsides of your sandwich and grill it up in a pan. Warm, melty bliss! The only thing is, if you're gonna grill it--cut back a bit on the amount of jelly. Banana slices on a grilled p'nut butter sandwich are especially good--further proof God loves us and wants us to be happy. 😋

Try the pb&j on toast! I used to eat goobers with a spoon. Loved that stuff, but I really don't know what made it special. A sandwich I would make when I was young, white bread, with mericle whip, a healthy layer of lays potato chips, and then hienz ketchup on top, and the top piece of bread. Smoosh it together and enjoy! It's actually pretty good

I have a cousin who use to eat ketchup sandwiches and My mom would eat mayo sandwiches. I on the other hand would eat peanut butter and jelly with banana sandwiches I have no idea why or where I picked it up as a kid and still to this day do it lol... Now brings me to my husband who eats Peanut butter and Mayo sandwiches... I remember the days of packed lunches of PB&J sandwiches, and they would get soggy, and kids would trade with others at lunch time... Now seeing and talking about this I now want myself a PB&J banana sandwich lol.. Great video loved it! Keep up the great work!

You have to try Smucker natural peanut butter. You have to stir the oil into it so its bests to store upside down. Try zucchini bread. And you know the pb&j sandwich rule, always cut it diagonally. I shows your mom loves you! Lol

Okay please don’t knock it till you try it but we make ravioli casserole. It’s chef boy ardee ravioli (I like the minis) and you cook in the oven till it’s hot. Then you crunch Doritos on top and add mild taco sauce and shredded cheese on top. Stick in back in the oven till the cheese is melted and voila!! It’s freaking delicious lol

I had a PB in unison, PB&J is rare here as our Peanut butter is generally not that sweet and you'd need to use something like a Conserve as Jelly here mean Jello in the states, doesn't mean though I haven't tried it, one of the importers got Goobers striped in and it wasn't bad.
Best oddball stuff though has come from a Breville Sandwich maker cookbook, essentially that has you making stuff like smores in a sandwich toaster on normal white bread.
Try ur orange marmalade on grilled chicken with rosemary. Check out a recipe. It is really good with a baked potato.

I love a good dark crusty bread like a pumpernickel or rye. I like my penutbutter both ways but crunchy is what id say. Grape jelly. I love heals of the bread. Make it on a bagel! A toasted bagel! If thats too much you can fo the other extreme snd do it on as a taco. Soft tortilla spread with butter, pb and j and just roll it up .

I’m not a big pb&j fan but I have found that smuckers natural peanut butter tastes better with jelly. Grape jelly rather than any other.

Preserves/fruit spread are the chunkiest of the spreads. Jelly has no chunks, and jam is in the middle.
