I always wanted an American Girl doll. I would get the catalogs and just wish for one. I've bought several toys I wanted from my childhood, Lego sets, Tamagatchi, Furby and such but probably won't get into these. 😄 The Target knock off American Girl dolls are pretty nice and they have a ton of accessories. This was a fun video! 💜💜
I had/have Molly growing up! She's from WWII like my Nana was so I loved her so much! My sister had Bitty baby! She would generally gift us "sets" for ours on holidays or birthdays. I still have all my stuff for my daughter. It's really excellent quality and has held up. By the time I "outgrew" them I had Molly, Felicity (my fave era), and the first generation of the My Girl dolls.
I was never into these dolls growing up but I can see the appeal. I had cabbage patch kids and barbies 😁

I love your doll episode! I adore dolls too, but my hobby is more to do with miniatures. However, when my youngest child was born, I playfully called her my 'little living dolly' ! But that was 39 years ago. Love your videos!

My daughter is the same age as you and she had/has a Kirsten American Doll. She looked just like the doll too! We didn’t go too crazy buying accessories for which my wallet was grateful but we got her enough on occasions that she was happy. Great video!!!

Molly was my favorite American Girl doll too. I used to get the catalogues too. Lord would I be broke with the pets alone.
I have Samantha! I still change her outfits for each season lol. I got her for Christmas when I was like 9, so I've had her since early 90s. I know they have so much more stuff now but I love the OG American Girls from different decade's!

My Niece and her friends preferred the Magic Attic Dolls that were around at the same time. In fact I restored the hair on her Heather doll not too long ago using the fabric softener trick. She now sits in her daughter's room.
Like the American Girl, those Dolls were also expensive as were the cloths and accessories.

This was a lot of fun! I'm glad you got to visit some places during your rescue mission to Columbus. Now that's making lemonade from lemons! Columbus is actually a pretty cool city, though I haven't been in years.

Welcome to the wild world of American Girl! 😂 I have a lot of luck buying things secondhand to try and mitigate the overwhelming cost. They really are super cute though! I got back into collecting them as an adult and was just knocked out by how much cool stuff they had.
So they do have named characters like Molly (those are the historical dolls and World By Us/Girl of the Year) but the dolls labeled DOLL 104 or whatever are the Truly Me line, so you can name them what you want!

Maybe what you should do . Is get Molly as a birthday or Christmas present maybe you can have Jacob go half’s with you and then Molly will be even more special because. You couldn’t get as a kid but Jacob got it for you . Then you just need to make a small version of Jacob’s hat and get her a cryptic shirt and Molly can be the carpet bager gal . Just a thought.
