This trailer doesn't even give a whiff of the World those characters live in. The movie is mind blowing.
I watched this film last night. I hereby declare it the most original love story I have seen… that’s how I classify it!

Franklyn was written and directed by Gerald McMorrow as his debut feature. This film is grossly underrated and wrongfully billed as a "Science Fantasy" film, which is the same category as Star Wars. This is a brilliant drama that follows multiple storylines of addict's and portrays masterfully the power of the mind on perception and identity.
Sad that director stepped away from the industry.

I saw part of this film on tv when I was just 10 years old and have always remembered it but never knew the name. Now I’ve found it at 24! “Franklyn” who the hell named it that?
One of the movies you can't really market correctly without spoiling it. Went into it with disbelief suspended high and no expectations and enjoyed it a lot, though some actors felt a bit underutilized.
The movie you are looking for is probably called "Immortal (Ad Vitam)" by Enki Bilal based on his Nicopol Trilogy comics.
This film reminds me of " Donnie Darko ".

Just watch the movie! FFS it is good. Eva Green is one of those CRAZY chicks.. in almost every movie she is the wild card, the psycho! I love her work so this is a no brainer really..
