Hey Tinman love the channel I own a tree service and love saws and now I am rebuilding all my saws I’ve run for 20 years and are still going thanks to you and this channel awesome 👍👍👍
I love seeing the diversity of saws on your channel my friend. I’ve never been much of a stihl guy, but hey, if the price is right I’m game! Thank you for all the knowledge you share. Really helped me learn a lot about my saws, and they keep multiplying😂
Came out like 22 years ago. So it sure has vibration compared to new stuff. I built an 026 everything brand new a few years back with a ported muffler and all. Nothing i would use everyday. It's like a classic car or a hotrod. Fun to have. 261 cm is the deal these days. 👍 cheers from sweden.
Coming to you from new Jersey tinman . I run 460s day in n out . Very reliable a bit heavy but cut great. Nice to see one on 👍🌲. Keep cutting brother . Logman from Jersey clear.
when my dad moved to Idaho he had a wood burning stove but never had the knowledge or equipment to cut his own wood so he just bought them cords at a time. He then met a old Korean war vet who had been cutting down trees essentially his whole life. He ended up selling my dad a saw (think it was a small like 028 or something at first) my dad then bought a old square body and put a cattle cage on the back. Growing up I helped my dad a whole lot with gathering and cutting wood. Anyways long story short, the Korean war vet family friend sold my dad a ms 460 mag that my dad ended up putting the 54mm big bore kit on. Fast forward some years later and I inherited the saw to cut my own firewood, and a funny tidbit is the Fire Department I work at has an old ms 460 mag rescue saw on one of the engines so I knew how to run it real well out of the gate lol. Sadly the cylinder has some scouring so I will have to try and take it apart and replace with another cylinder kit at some point. Love the video. That thing rips!
That is a nice looking, and running MS460. My first go round with an aftermarket big bore was on a MS460. I was trying to match the performance of an 064. It didn't happen, the saw has set on the shelf for a long time, I was planning on porting an OEM cylinder and swapping out the big bore, but when I bought my first ms461 and ported that I lost interest in the 460 and kept running 064's. I would not recommend bending that Stihl ES light bar like that, they have milled out grooves in them and doing that causes a long divot to form in the aluminum plate covering those grooves, I own several that have done that. I prefer to take the clutch cover off to put the chain back on and adjust the chain tension. I always throw chains too when limbing with a 32" bar, keeping the chain adjusted properly helps, that's one thing to be mindful of with long bars.
Great saw,I have run huskies and stihls over the years, both have always been dependable and great running for me,but I use husky because my dealer is close and customer service is great, but I still have and run both brands
Love my STIHL saws!
