      @Avslappnandeljud 8 лет назад

      Small improvements as you go :) Speaking of improvements. Would there be any significant gains if you added say a 100-200w marine solar panel to it and charge as you're out and about? From what I can see you have the space for one decent sized panel at the front and the controllers can't be that heavy neither. Price will be an issue considering the cost of this build but let's ignore that for now..

    Well done, and a fun project. I hear you on tweaking a back. Never used to give my back a second thought until I got into my 40s. I love building stuff (a lot of boat projects as well) and have to keep in mind how I'm going to bend and how much stuff weighs. Now if we could just get big batteries down to 5 or 10 pounds that would be nice. Be safe, keep building.

      +Edwin Dueck My other boat, same hull but smaller and lighter with 1.2 hp gas outboard does well in 18" waves. I'm a light guy though. I'm also wanting to install two fish poles up front angling out. Nice for trolling.

    Gas pliers to make electrical connections? Remind me to get you a good pair of Electricians pliers for Christmas.Cool boat. Always like peeking in on your projects, its just that part with the gas pliers killed me. =)

    • @paulwelkinsdiy
      @paulwelkinsdiy  8 лет назад

      +DeanMk1 What are gas pliers Dean? I use wire stripping pliers.

    • @DeanMk1
      @DeanMk1 8 лет назад

      +Paul Elkins Sorry Paul. Mechanics slang. Proper term is Adjustable Pliers.
      Back in the days when almost all cars used carburetors, those pliers were often used to attach and release the clamp that connected fuel lines for a car's engine.
      At about the 1:42 point of your video, you're shown using a pair of Adjustable pliers to attach, what appears to be, some kind of electrical connector. They're the silver pliers you reach for that are closest to the camera.

    • @paulwelkinsdiy
      @paulwelkinsdiy  8 лет назад

      +DeanMk1 Aha. You're talkin about my piers. I have a pneumatic rivet gun, which is not that common, so I was thinking 'Gas pliers? Hmmm, am I missing something?' Too funny.

    • @DeanMk1
      @DeanMk1 8 лет назад

      +Paul Elkins I've used those...heck, I've worn them out several times! Pneumatic Rivet Guns are essential if you're repairing your 40 foot trailer, or the box on your straight truck.
