Hey there, fellow Mamiya Instax shooter here. I built my own Instax Mini back using a Lomography LC-A+ Instant back and absolutely love it. I do miss the larger image area of Instax Square, and my back doesn't have a darkslide unfortunately, but it does fit very cleanly along the lines of the camera body and the film is hella cheap when bought in bulk so I'll take it.

They would rather talk about their "simulation profiles" and "large format" digital - marketing over substance.

So, as I said Fujifilm *don't care* about film anymore. Just like they would rather destroy their peel apart machines and formula, than sell it to Impossible.
Because they don't care. If instax sales fell they would drop that, too.
The 'film' in their name is just about marketing. But it seems you cannot process this rather obvious fact.

I especially like the instax wide because its even larger and costs the same / less than the square one, got an instax wide camera modified to take mamiya Press 6x9 lenses by a cool dude from the us who sells those for very reasonable prices, definitely the cheapest way, especially since I don't have a rz / RB 67

I wish there was a similar back for the RB67 that didn't cost more than the camera...
I managed to buy one second hand for £200 late last year. They're out there, but finding them is a challenge because they're all hand made in small runs.
Instax backs are the only reason I ever consider dropping my Bronica for a Mamiya RB or RZ

I know it's not a popular opinion, but I believe the medium format look is the compression of a longer focal length combined with a wider field of view of a larger negative. Not the blurred background. Even stopped down medium format shots look different to 35mm. What are your thoughts?

Very nice video, mate. I shoot tons of Instax pictures, they look wonderful during golden hour, shooting with the Mamiya I bet you can get excellent results.
I dig it .. would like to try one, I have a lot of instant cameras and I have found that the better the lens, the better the picture!!!

You have to take a shot with the sun in the frame to see something totally weird. Instax film is one of the rare modern films that can actually solarize with very little overexposure.

I'm waiting for that as well. Apparently there is a Chinese one for something like 800 Euro, and there is a Kickstarter from Japan which should release next year for something like 200 Euro. Both expensive, but I guess that's the 'Hasselblad'-surcharge.

No, you'll need an instax square camera that has been modified to mount to your camera. If you've got an fp-100 back collecting dust that you want to use, you can get new film by OneInstant, but it's nowhere near perfect and at the moment it's sometimes more expensive than just buying expired fp-100.
