just signed in to say thank you very much. I've watched so many RUclips videos & have read so many articles to sort out this problem but to no avail. That is until I came across your video. Thank you very very much as you helped me sort out the problem. you are a legend! and you have gained one subscriber as a result. Thank you again!
This has been bugging me for a long time. Thank you! Your first method is what everyone else keeps suggesting as a fix - it never worked for me. Your second method did the trick. OMG, I can relax now! Subbed just for this. For those of you trying to fix this issue, watch this video at 1:48
i saw the first method first then decided to close it because it doesn't work and thank god i looked at the comments i didn't know there was a second method oh my god it actually worked thank you for your comment if i didn't read that then i don't know what would i do! i had to keep my laptop charged on school to focus even if it was full! oh my god i wont be triggered again thanks to you and this video i'm so surprised!!
You're the best man!!! It has been like years before solving this problem!! I called Asus support so many times and they never solved the problem... I may shed some tears...
Bless you brother, always had the dimming issue but never was bothered to attempt to fix it, after getting sick of using the plug 24/7 i decided to fix the damn thing lmao
oh. my god. like thank god i stayed till the end! the first method never works but the second one! was it THAT easy just to disable, woow i had to put my laptop in the charger everytime even if it was 100 because i need to study bro THANKKK YOUUUUU!!!!
I have an HP Omen laptop. And I have disabled all of these options in Windows. But it didn't work. I have an NVIDIA "card" and I have a strong suspicion it is being controlled by that display adapter. But I have no control software that has any settings. Just the NVIDIA driver.
When I right click I don't see the option for intel drive, I had to use it in search bar, there I did as you said but the option for global setting is not there, needless to say it worked. When ever I plugged my computer (sometimes) or when power is at a certain level the computer creen turn black, but the video im watching is still playing.
a really nice tip who had applied this you may have lost ur battry icon but one tip: after you disable device plug out ur charger and use ur pc for 5 min and then enable ur device from device manager then icon will come back without losing any brightness dont forget to hit like 👇👇
Also found an another solution ...... device manager>display adaptor>(Intel /amd ) graphics>(open)disable device ..and then again enable device.....ur screen may flash few secs but it's fine..it absolutely works and the battery option in the display doesn't disappear
THANK YOU so much, I never comment on these videos, but this thing has been irritating me for so long and I couldn't find the fix! The second option worked for me, you're a life saver, THANKS AGAIN!
thanks finally; took me 1 year to google/youtube this issue enough was enough I wanted my screen bright perm lol. you where my first video.. AND IT WORKED! yay 10/10
Did not work on my system properly battery icon is missing after disabling the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method battery and all time battery is showing as charging only
Hi, I have similar issue, but in my PC monitor. When I open cmd prompt (it has dark theme, right?) the screen gets dim), similarly, when I played a game like for instance SEKIRO, when I am in dark area, like night time, the screen gets dim. Seriously, the screen display lowered significantly like it reduced to about 30% brightness. I followed a lot of tips such as power management to max performance, I put my pc to never sleep setting, I also switch off high contrast, I disable adaptive brightness.. I also tried your tips, but still none of them works. still when I open dark themes game it reduces birghtness automatically. One thing I had observed, if the cmd prompt is at minimise window, the display brightness wont change, but if I maximize cmd prompt window, then it happens again, from 100 to 30% brightness. Any idea? thanks and more power.
even though I run on a different software I tried the same thing you said but with my software and I'm happy that I came across this video (: I've been trying to fix it for about a week now.
So i followed this step and i feel like it worked. Now however my wacom pro tablet that was connected now isnt being registered at all. Like have you literally fucked it? Also when i load up my 3d software it lags alot. Isn't this a valuable driver that shouldn't be touched. Please reply. Thanks
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH AFTER 2 YEARS I FINALLY FOUND A SOLUTION TO THIS DARK SCREEN! GOD BLESS U THANK U!!!!

For AMD processor Open AMD settings and then go to Display option then check GPU Scaling Option ON.
That doesn't work. The correct setting is to disable Vari-Bright.
