My favorite tofu recipe! 🥰

    RECIPE (3 servings, 30min prep time):
    -400g firm tofu, pat dried
    -2 Tbsp corn starch
    -salt and pepper
    -1 Tbsp oil
    Mix and bake at 175C/350F for 20mins.
    -1 onion
    -2 cloves garlic
    -a thumbsize piece of ginger
    -2 Tbsp vegan or oil
    -2 Tsp each ground coriander, cumin and garam masala
    -1/2 Tsp chili powder
    Fry for a few minutes
    -2 Tbsp tomato paste
    -2 cups (500ml) tomato passata
    Stir it in let it simmer for 5-10mins
    -1 cup (250ml) coconut milk
    -a squeeze of lemon
    -1 Tsp sugar
    -salt to taste
    Add it along with the tofu and serve with rice and naan.

    Add 2 spoons of cashew butter.... Or just soaked and blended cashew paste.... This will become so so creamy ❤

      Just tell me want to point out that you should probably use really really firm tofu, which is probably what she’s using here don’t use the silken tofu or anything like that that’s more for like smoothies do you want the extra firm kind

    Lemon juice will kind of make the coconut milk curdle so add it when it's off heat.

    Please try using fresh tomatoes and roast it along with the onion and garlic till they soften
    Then blend!!

    Tip if you want to make tofu taste more like paneer, soak it in a hot brine for 30 minutes then drain, it makes it so delicious

      Hey guys, do you know if this recipe goes well without adding the coconut milk? Because my Turkish taste buds are not really familiar with coconut flavor at a meal.

      @@hatice7054 if you are not vegan, you can use also heavy cream. But coconut cream doesn't have a strong taste especially with all the spices added to this recipe.

      ADD Cashew or Almond butter... Any nut butter except Walnut would be a Good Substitute...

    Try to add 2-3 cardamon (whole) into the pan at the beginning. Add some cashew nuts (10-15) to the sauce and BLEND the sauce before adding the tofu. Just a suggestion.

    Id recommend u marinating the tofu in yougurt and adding spices then baking it or pan frying it.

    I made butter chicken on Wednesday but I have an absolute crap tonne of silken tofu to use up before its date in July. I might have to get on this! Stupidly I bought firm thinking it'd be more suitable for cooking but it's so wet, even after pressing 😅

      @@nolow_life It's firm silken tofu. I don't like it as much as extra firm because of the high moisture content. I've been struggling for recipes other than just frying it 😅

      @@amybooth1993 super interesting! I've never heard of that. Over here silken is the absolute softest that you can get, and firm is the hardest you can get. I didn't know they had one where they combined the name of the softest and the hardest

    Love your recipes & wanted to let you know, RUclips changed the way shorts display in my subscription list, so I missed your past few videos. I noticed this video in the recommends on my home page, but it wasn’t in my subscribed videos list. Now all shorts are clumped together in a horizontal thread & you have to scroll over horizontally to see them all. 😢

      Tearing it is supposed to help it grab onto seasoning and help with getting crispier bits when frying

    You can also add panner (cottage cheese).......but it will not be VEGAN

      Or just not, and leave animals alone. It's very easy to replicate paneer with tofu and not exploit someone that doesn't want to be exploited
