Dimash catapaulted to fame in Asia due to his appearance on the Chinese singing competition show "Singer" in 2017. This performance was his return to that stage at the charity episode and he used it to express his gratitude to the audience that had accepted his so warmly in 2017. At the end of the song he replaced the English "I Love You" with the Chinese equivalent, followed by the same in Kazakh and then he thanked the audience in Chinese.
Dimash's English is much better now and he can speak without a translator.

This is one of my FAVORITE performances....just vocally smashed it! His voice is so piercing, cutting, .....as a singer myself....it just blows my mind! This song, the intensity, the soul depth passion, it just brings an involuntary emotional reaction every time....it brings tears to my eyes.....it is sung from such a deep soul level.....such an aching of the heart....it's really sung at a gut level...at the end you can see in his mouth the effects that happen when someone is very emotional and cries......he doesn't 'perform' he lives his songs as he sings them.

Lionel Richie must be thrilled with the renewed attention that this song has garnered due to Dimash’s cover. I love the unique instrumentalisation and the vocal melisma that Dimash adds to the original melody that was much simpler. I’m surprised that this is the first English song you’ve heard by Dimash!?! Across Endless Dimensions is also in English, as well as one of the newest ones (Be with Me video dropped about a week ago now.). Dimash’s English has steadily been improving. (Although, if you go with Be with Me, there is a section not in English too. I won’t say more so as to not ruin your surprise!)

@@weslove6018 I’ve heard this before as well, but I didn’t say that Lionel Richie was happy with Dimash’s cover, I’m just suspecting that he would be thrilled with the newfound attention an old song has garnered. I’ve also heard that some of the issues concerning Vitas and Lionel Richie may have been due to The Singer not having sought copyright permission in advance. As audience, it’s important to look at perspective.

You seem to be interested on the words and their meaning - which we all are I suppose. However, here's little bit of info. you might be interested in. Dimash had a 'friend' called Denis Ten who was an Olympic bronze medalist ice skater. Denis was murdered and Dimash recorded (with U Tube) himself singing SOS to Denis as he skates. SOS is all about wishing he could be up there in heaven, soaring like a bird and looking down on the earth instead of having to live here. Isn't that a statement of real 'friendship'.

This was a song written and performed by Lionel Ritchie, formerly of The Commodores, an African-American band, and was released in 1984. Ten years before Dimash was born. Dimash was still 22 years old when he performed this on "Singer 2018."

These children put so much pressure and stress on themselves to achieve perfection its unbelievable, and their drive...there is no stopping them. Without Dimash having strong support at home he would break down. Kudos to his loving parents for bringing this beautiful child in front of the world and sharing his gifts!

For those who love Dimash, another must see singer is Zhao Shen from China. Because of his small stature, feminine disposition and voice, he was often bullied in school. Never thinking that he had what it takes to be a singer, he went tot he Ukraine to become a dentist. While there, he was convinced that he did have a great singing ability, thus transferred his major to music. Thank goodness he did.
As an introduction into Zhao "Charlie" Shen, begin with his premiere performance on the Voice of China singing HuanYan. After this first video, move on to his versions of "Memory", and "Time to Say Goodbye".
For something different from him, watch his version of "Let It Go" and "Monsters".

Be With Me His latest is a 180 from something like this. Homemade tune. MJ ala 007 ala Justin Timberlake ala Jackie Chan ala Dimash style. I applaud the way he doesn’t allow himself to get pigeonholed into one genre only. Of course his magnificent singing is his Golden wheelhouse. And the world needs such a singer imo. One with class and excellence.
Also, I recommend Keili Meken. It’s shorter, and more of a Kazakh rock style. I think his father wrote the lyrics.

Ok. You’re venturing back into the modern super singers. I’d like to recommend 20 yo Moroccan Canadian singer songwriter named Faouzia. Hers is quite a different style than Dimash. More Adele than Andrea Bocelli.
“You Don’t Even Know Me”. The official release is uptempo and very pop. There is also a stripped version with her at piano which is more dramatic.
“Born Without a Heart (stripped)” has a bit more interesting lyrics.
Her duet with John Legend “Minefields” has a similar theme to “Hello”.

You may have noticed how impressed some of the other artists in the Green Room are. Some great performers there, but I'd certainly recommend Hua Chenyu, he's amazing but in different ways. Nunchucks from Singer 2018 (it's a cover, the contest rules limit artists in the number of their own songs they can perform) is the usual entry point to his work.
You've got Dimash down pat!! Check out his closest female counterpart. Her name is "SO HYANG" she is Korean. Koreans call her the Korean Mariah Carey!! I believe it's the other way around!! Please start with "YOU RAISED ME UP"!! She and Dimash are "EARTH ANGELS" sent to soothe the souls of all humans. With the world in a DEMpanic they have helped a lot of people!! Some of her other songs are, Bridge Over Troubled Water, I Have Nothing. She sings Lean On Me with Michael Bolton watching her!! They both can re-arrange any song they choose to sing. I find Dimash's performance very passionate, full of feelings. "the vocal gymnastics" in the middle of the song is his own culture's melismas, something very near his heart. Nothing superficial. He expressed longing/passion in this way - the meaning of the song is loving from far away/missing someone. I would say these are different approaches to the song. Lionel's beautiful original classic is melancholic. Dimash made his own version with more desperate feeling and added his own culture's features (his melismas, throath singing in the background, Kazakh flute like instrument). Both versions are good in their own way☺️

Hi I got into your videos last year always with a protein shake at the finish of the video and start on the junk food I just been signed off work for 6-months they seem nothing better to do the Habit quickly formed the junk food became addictive sometimes I drink 2 protein shakes to your videos no more time for exercise at the end of 6 months I have gained 95 lbs I was signed off work another 2 months by the time I got back to work after 8 months I had gained 130 lbs enjoyed your video today without protein shakes just my massively increased waistline haha
