Your smile when the drums kicked in was everything! Just found your channel tonight and I have already watched more than a dozen of your videos. Love it!
Frank Hannon is a beast on guitar.. he does the classical intro, and the hard rock electric solo.
Wow. I absolutely LOVE this song. When it came out, I sang it to "my baby's daddy", who had come back to Chicago after being away for 2 years (his son now being 4 years old). Wasn't mad at him; just wished him the best of love and life - brings back such memories!!!💖
Always loved this! Released in 1989, it so hard to believe this song is 33 years old! Great choice and reaction, Daniel. Thank you! 💙✌
Tesla stands far ahead of most of the straight rock riff raff of the 80's.
Great song choice! I went to about 15 concerts the year before the pandemic & Tesla was the best of all of them. They have a great catalog to dive into.
You have just made my heart so happy! I've been hoping you would react to this song. Tesla is an amazing band and they have a lot of great songs but I knew you would love this one. Thank you, Daniel, for this reaction. 🥰 Be sure to watch to music video version of this song.
Cool, now you're ready for some Triumph or Asia. Tesla is like the Incubus of the 80s. Completely fitting into the pop rock conventions of the era, but true artists that transcend the genre.
"What You Give" is their biggest hit and my personal favorite.
Love this song! You described it perfectly!
Saw them last August at the NY State Fair and they've still got it. Great show!
Glad you finally got to Tesla. Best straight ahead, no frills, rock bands still going. You might back up one album from them Mechanical Resonance and check out "Modern Day Cowboy"
Yes! A real power type ballad by a "hair" band of the 80's. Love it!
Such a dumb stigma! 80s metal or Hair Bands! Yea some posers in this era. But there were some amazing bands that came out of this era. Yea a dumb cheezy look. But Tesla was one of the amazing bands from this era. There were a lot of amazing bands that made some great music during this era that will never get proper respect. Tesla has a ton of amazing music .
They could easily become a favorite band of yours.
Love this song, the guitar solo always gives me the chills, even after 30+ years or listening to it! Before my Eyes and We're No Good Together are two other great tunes from Tesla.
I call it beautiful guitar. Guitar chords that are so sweet and lovely. Like a lot in Allman brothers. So good for the soul ❤
I´ve always believed that it was like a father´s advise or point of view, like he is trying to confort his daughther, it´s seams he cares a lot about the girl!!
Now That You Have Heard The Studio Version,, I Would Definitely Suggest Watching The Official Music Video,, Not Only To See Them Perform,, But Also Thier Fans Love For Them.
I second that, watching the joy of this song being played is unforgettable.
@@catserver8577 I Would Third That,, But I Already Firsted It! 🤪
Teenagers cruising song miss them days❤️
Lv this song !! I can’t believe it!! You’re the only reactor I’ve seen so this song !!! Awesome 👏 ❤
This song was my sh*t when I was 13 lol. This was one of the last great big rock songs before grunge hit. Good times.
Love Song is my answer whenever somebody says November Rain.
Did a LOT of partying back in the early 90s listening to these guys. My old girlfriend would have kicked me to the curb for the lead singer lol! Great band really. Peace!
some other Tesla greats-Edison's Medicine, What You Give, Modern Day Cowboy, many others.
Oh my goodness Mr. Intelligent, you are so damn cute! I probably told you that and how mature and well spoken you are for your age. Anyway, another great reaction dear; I love Tesla 😊. -Joni
I love a good love song. Great reaction.
I grew up with music like this
Frank Hannon is underrated and when Jeff Keith is on, he is ON.
F1rst!!!! LOVE….this SONG. See what I did there?
AHHHHHH the 80s. This was def a genre defining group amidst the synth pop/hair bands. Love the Tesla conspiracy nod with the album title.
The greatest Love Song from the 80
Who would have ever thought an electric car company could make such kick ass music
Signs!
They were way ahead of their time. This song never fails to lift my spirits.
❤Loved your reaction❤
Tesla! I'm electrified to hear them for the first time! (SWIDT?) This has a stadium-rock, crowd sing along vibe to it. Kinda cool.
Hey there, Jammin’ Kauiai Man. I saw you name on the Lightning in a Bottle (music video premiere). Did you see Daniel’s new post? The Sighting (official Live Stream) 8/27/22 @ 3:00pm
Oh you sweet child, please check out Five Man Acoustical Jam. Especially the song Paradise. But the cover of Mother's Little Helper is just next level
Hi Daniel! I finally sat down and made "The list."

Hey Legion!
Let me know who you've seen below 👇🏼
Outstanding work sonny. You've done a fine job.
This is my first time hearing as well. My first thought was "Shall we go to the medieval festival and go jousting Guinevere ?"
Of course being an 80s kid I had heard of Tesla but never listened. Until now. Nice song. Love the opening.
TRUST ME On This MUST HEAR Group & Starter Pack Of Songs By Them,, Wolfmother "White Unicorn",, "Love Train" & "Woman",, Then Many Others..Soo Well Worth Your Time Daniel.
Tesla - multitalented
Love this
I liked the beginning of the song and then it says love will find a way. I hope the new Album will have more better songs then the one I told you may me uncomfortable. I know that you will have more songs then that one I just saying that there will be different. Thank you Daniel
I didn't really discover Tesla until recently I was too busy with Def Leppard Poison and guns and roses in my teen age years
I've always called this the "dude playing the long game" song lol
The best garage band in rock.
That’s a really good way to describe them, lol
Great album.
i liked the way the drums kicking in caused a massive grin to break out on your face!
a different genre but really hoping you can react to All Them Witches one day? - preferably a live version of "The Marriage of Coyote Woman" pleeeeease?
Released 33 years ago? This channel, proving again how little I know about good music in the sense of totality. And towards the end Daniel, you're making more sense out of relationships than I possibly could :)
P.S.- ONE WEEK TO BANDCAMP!!!!!
Awesome intro! I never heard of Tesla, they are great! Have to listen to more.
I always thought the song is from the p.o.v. of of a friend telling the broken-hearted girl everything's going to be okay. Your suggestion that it might imply the friend's going to make a move might be spot on since it was the 80's and that'd be a classic cheesy 80's movie trope, but since the lyrics don't really outright come out and say anything about that, I've always given it th benefit of the doubt and taken it as the friend being supportive.
I love how you research the songs you listen to. The Fray - How to save a life. Not sure if you know it and don't think you've reacted to it but its a suggestion
I always play Kix and Leatherwolf together w/ Tesla as they tend to be similar in the hard rock spectrum. (See Kix - Blow My Fuse album & Leatherwolf - Street Ready album as my fav from each).
What you give is another good one by Tesla.
check out the Five Man Acoustical Jam version 🤘
Tesla was classified, by some people, back in the '80s and '90s, as a "hair metal" or "pop metal" band, but they were *always* (and still are, on their newer albums) closer to being a bluesy hard rock band. Some of their songs lean toward heavy metal, but not really pop-metal, and they have some folk influences too, as in the song here. Tesla made great music in the '80s and still do today. They've released a new single, and it rocks!
Yes, this band was deeply influence by Rock bands from the 70s like Great White.
@@jiehuang954 Grest White is a very good band, but they were not a '70s band. They have no albums from the '70s. They began releasing albums in the '80s.
@@christianman73 You are correct! But Great White started at 1977 even though they didn't released any album then, so technologically I'm no wrong either....Jokes aside, it's a fact that Tesla as a band got lots of inspiration from 70s music.
What you give!!!
Dude, where's the vid?? Always play the vid. I saw your Texas Flood reaction. While NOTHING is as life changing for a new guitar player or anyone with a pulse as when Stevie played behind his back, Tesla is pretty wicked to guitar players. For young rockers, Comin Atcha Live by Tesla is jaw on the ground stuff. GOTTA WATCH THE VID.
Always enjoy your reactions. You want interesting lyrics listen to anything by The Warning.
I hit the SUB/BLACK BELL/LIKE BUTTONS as soon as I heard you speak. Right off I recognized you are a Rock and Roll Renaissance Man, as I. Rock Intelligentsia are like hens teeth. Hard as h*ll to find. Most reactors on the inter-web just barely know how to read/write, let alone know how to craft a discernable thought on what they are experiencing as they listen to the tuneage. Sadly, most young people have only been exposed to one genre of music. (You know of which I speak.) Their experiences in the music world is rather, limited, and confined, mostly to the lifting of song lyrics...er, sorry, the "sampling" and covers from real artists is about the extent of todays youngsters knowledge. They have never experienced honest to goodness bona fide talent. "So called artists" of today are seriously lacking in Talent and have zero skill. Lyrically or musically, Can't read/write their own stuff. Have zero ability, zero talent. Sorry. There it is. That goes for todays actors/movies/singers/"entertainers" of any and all stripes. It is sad, really. That is why when I see a rare Gem, such as yourself, I immediately appreciate your hunger and thirst for searching and digging out little nuggets of musical talent, knowledge and find joy from the discovery of the past and in educating yourself about it, then bringing it to the surface for others to enjoy and maybe broaden their musical horizon a little bit. It is cool to see you discovering what it was like once upon a time. Please, keep up all your good work. Remember, watchin and diggin it from just an old rocker dude outta Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Lord Bless You and Yours. Go with God, Brother. Peace.
Interesting you should mention who the message is from. Loved this song on my walks for years and years. But after my divorce to me this came from God promising me I’d find love again. I’m remarried now 9 years to a wonderful man ❤
I really want you to react to Joanna Newsom's music, literally anything she's a lyrical genius and i'm curious to hear your opinions on her stuff! personally i like "emily" "in california" "have one on me" and "kingfisher"
Never liked this band. I don't get it at all. I like my music raw and this is way too polished for my ears.
