Always interesting but I'm more of a 2x8 ramp
Same here 🤣🤘
In a pinch use the floor mats from your Vehicle
Those are all fantastic tricks mon ami. My brother’s favourite trick is to call me for his plumbing repairs 😁
🤣🤣🤣
Now thats a trick that has a 100% success rate 😂
🤘
@@jakesmith6755 😁👍
I'm in no way shape or form a plumber, but it seems like my boss does the same trick on every jobsite I've been on the last 5 years....especially right after the hired plumbers leave....and it's a swimming pool in said kitchen bath bar restroom or porch lol, had a fun one in an attic once lol. Ever seen a wall stub out in 1 1/4!!! Yeah...me neither..until about 2 weeks ago, wt actual f???
Love the C clamp trick. I’ll be using that one for sure
🤘🤘🤘
Well they also have 45* Drill bit for those tight area
@@mannyalgredo6005 - How does a 45° drill bit (which I'll have to Google) hammer in a nail?
Dustin Tunis the 45° Drill bit is attached to your Drill you can add extensions depending on the spacing it's very useful for Hvac installations. It's also called right angle driver Drilling but for short everyone calls it's the 45°
@@mannyalgredo6005 - That would be a 90, not 45, but it still doesn't hammer in a nail. I suppose you could drive a screw in instead of a nail though.
The “c” clamp trick, genius!!
Agreed! 🤗
Instead of c clamp I have used 480 channel lock pliers
"You'd be lying if you say you knew this one" yea he nailed that.
🤣🤣🤣
C clamp?
How bout a zip tie.
Duh!
Foil is a really good idea I’ve never thought of that. That being said if your soldering in areas like that often I’d definitely recommend getting a small fire blanket. Stuff does wonders
Good tip!
“Loyal to the Foil!”
Old license plates work well too.
They could be little hints BUT life savings and the very common ones. Very helpful.
Thanks heaps 🙏🙏🙏
Great video! However, for the 2x4 back support, it's still uncomfortable, due to the sharp edges, and also can damage the bottom rail of the cabinet. What I've done is use about a 2 foot long by 18 inch wide piece of 3/4 " plywood, covered on both sides and edges with a thick carpet, it saves your back, and also protects the floor and cabinet from scratches/damage!!
Love how he balances the pipe to find the center then confirms with a tape measure! Brilliant 😉
Heyyy, it was just an example 😂
I used a pneumatic palm nailer to hammer in a few pex clamps in a tight space, working through an access panel in sheetrock where the clamp wouldn't have worked. Took a few tries to do, but it worked!
That tubing cutter trick is great. I have done something similar in the past with vice grip pliers, tight enough to hold the pipe but not damage it.
Yes, works too 🤘
Any kind of pliers wold do , without damaging the pipe , just open the pliers a little bit bigger than the pipe and lay them on safe soldering area so the end with the fitting would be up and off the surface in a 35 degree angle or so , then apply the flame starting from the bottom of the fitting up to the top , by the time you get to the top part it'll be ready to take the solder , and clear the excess solder with the tip of the sold solder then finish it with brush and flux, never assume the pipe its not to hot , heat travels fast on copper so use a rag or pliers to handle the pipe and wipe flux off with a wet rag folded after 30 seconds to a minute after soldering.
That was the most helpful trick for sure. Who solders vertically when you could solder horizontally though?
The C clamp trick will come in handy for stapling Romex in tight spaces also!
I've never thought of using a tubing cutter as a vice, but I have used a pair of vice grips for the same scenario. Thank you so much for the tips!
Glad it was helpful!!!

Great tips! another one for d/w tee or wye is a short piece of 7/8" rubber d/w hose (like what returns from the air gap), couple hose clamps and a 3/4" pvc plug fits in the end.
Yes, that would work even better, thanks!
Plug of plumbers putty works well too

I always use my big chanellock pliers to install the pex clip when there is no room to hammer, just open the jaw and squeeze the nail in the stud.
Works!!!

As a licensed plumber I'll tell ya, great information right here! Keep up the good work- you keep surprising me time and time again.
Which silicone grease do you use? I'm assuming its approved for potable water?
Thanks!!! Yes, it's approved for potable water 👌
@@Got2Learn do you have a name or a link of the product?
Silicone Grease: amzn.to/2YmDeqv
@@Got2Learn thanks! Any experience using Plumber Grease by Lyncar? Would love to know how they match up
Com'mon man! Of course it for potable water. Reading labels is essential for there proper use. He's not using axel grease.
Got2 love it👍
😉😉😉
C clamp, genius! When you are laying on the edge of a cabinet, I buy those kneeling mats from the hardware store and lay that on the edge. So much better.
🙏🙏🙏
I just use a pillow😨

Great tricks. A neat way to find the centre of mass of any uniform object is place one finger somewhere on the left side and one somewhere on the right. Move your fingers together. The pipe will alternate sliding by one finger or another, but your fingers always meet in the middle.
Just tried it, THAT IS SO COOL! Thanks for the tip!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand this one. Can you elaborate?
@@andreabradpitto Grab a meter stick or pipe or something similar. Using only your index finger on both hands, place one finger under one end and the other finger somewhere under the other end. Start moving your fingers together slowly similar to if you were about to clap your hands. You will notice that your fingers alternate which one slides against the rod until they meet in the centre of mass.
@@regularguy9264 thank you a lot, makes sense now. I'll try it out asap!
Brilliant
😇😇😇
Foil also works great for leaks in walls to divert the water into a drain or bucket!
Yes it does!
For the cutting the pipe in half one, support the pipe at both ends on both pointer fingers, slowly bring your hands together. When your fingers meet they’ll be pretty close to center.
👌👌👌
I knew the c clamp one , literally thought about doing it on a repipe when I was an apprentice helping
stickers can be scratched off with channel locks too
I could've used that 2×4 trick today.
Nice tricks!

I like the pipe cutter to hold the pipe. I wish I knew that one years ago.
It's very useful hehe ;)

bro, you are a hero. I want to apply the C clamp trick but before I need to replace my current DAHL U-clip copper (please google it) and I wonder which technique or tool should I use to avoid damage on the copper pipe. Please help!!!
Just tighten it until it's in contact with the pipe and stop there ;)
@@Got2Learn They are completely tight to the pipe, but I have like 5 joists doing that creepy TOC TOC sound when I open the hot water faucet. However, I realized that this only happens with a bathroom that takes time to get the hot water in contrast to other hot water faucets. I was thinking that it must be due to something else, distance or insulation. I also reduced the power of the heat water tank from 160F to 100F. Water was too hot and I wanted to save money. Looks like the previous owner increased the temp of the tank to hide his issue. Nevertheless, I am pretty sure that the TOC TOC sound comes when the pipe contracts and shrinks. So, I was thinking to remove those U-clips that look more like a staple to use a C clamp with the cushions to avoid friction. I am quite scared to break the copper pipe, but if I do better in summer than in winter.
Try maybe putting some felt around the pipe (furry side on the pipe) so it slides as it expands 🤷♂️
Love you from Bangladesh.
