About us: We're Jon & Emilie, a husband and wife living in West-Wales with our dog Maggie. It's always been our goal to live within our means and be mortgage free, so we’ve just sold our house and used all of our life savings to buy a 3 acre abandoned caravan park, so we can self build a tiny home.

Another lovely video! Thank you for sharing. I am watching from Georgia USA. My dog got very excited when you squeaked the toy. He jumped up from his nap and brought me his toy 😄
Thats amazing Autumn, we did wonder if peoples dogs would get triggered by it, so cute 😂
You sold your house for your Dream, never second guess yourselves. Look how far you've already come.
Thanks Martin, we are working towards it 😁
South Yorkshire. In a world of convenience there’s you two…so much hard work for what at the moment must feel endless. KEEP GOING! When it’s finished you’re literally going to be living the dream! ❤
Thanks so much Jane 😊😊😊
Great job! As a Canadian, I laughed at what you called « snowed in » 😂
Haha i know in the uk we are so i'll prepared for snow 🤣
He does have a proper beard though. A flannel shirt and tuque and he would blend in perfectly 😊
As a South African, one snow day makes national headlines, as it doesn't happen on an annual basis in most parts of the country 😊
I have nothing but admiration of you two, keep up the good work. ❤Tony
Thanks so much Tony 🙂❤
I love this channel, they are literally building their dream and show the up and down side to it. In the future they can sit back and say "we did this".
Looking forward to that day where we can look back at what we've achieved, the main reason for us filming it is so we can see the change over time.
They are certainly working very hard.
nerd
@Low Fat Wagon Yawn, your boring.
Welshies watching from Portugal ☺️ so much hard work guys, must feel good to have gotten that last caravan done. Can’t wait to see what you’re up to next ☺️ 🏴 xx
Me too, central Portugal, with a Podengo, Portuguese pointer.....oh that rain. At least we only get a few weeks.
The land must be crying with joy at the work you are doing! Seems the plot has been used for a dumping ground for years! Such hard work but you are getting there xxxx
The coal mine started 69 years ago so im guessing people have lived and used this site since then so lots of time for people to throw out their rubbish over that amount of time, so crazy the stuff we find. Waiting on a treasure box somewhere, cross your fingers for us 🤣
Great to see your progress keep up with the good work. For safety's sake please remove your rings & put them somewhere safe while working without gloves, it's very easy to lose a finger if you get a ring caught in something plus if you bash your fingers they'll swell quickly & the ring becomes stuck adding to the injury. I know someone who lost a finger this way & it hurts!
Watching you from Cardiff area.
Thats actually very good point! Thanks Annie, not something we'd thought of. Thanks for the heads up.
Congratulations 🎈🎉😘👍🏻💕loved the video 😘👍🏻💕Oklahoma USA 😘👍🏻💕
We love country music so would love Oklahoma
You are a fantastic couple. You work so hard together. May all your dreams come to fruition. I’m sure they will as you really pull together!
Thank you Susie 🤗
@@CampOutWest I forgot to say I’m in North Yorkshire and when you are up and running will come and stay!
The weighing in at scrap merchant is worth all the hard work. Once you're wet working outside its not nice especially if its not your usual day job. Great to see you cracking on.
We are now on first name terms with people at the scrap yard 😃
Must be so satisfying to see the caravans cleared.
You are one of the only channels that show the recycling ♻️. So good to see!
Thanks Michelle, we are happy to recycle stuff, we are looking into buying recycled products for our land, recycled fencing etc.
We've been waiting for this video👏, can't believe how much snow you got, we didn't get any 😭😂 -G&R,x
We couldn't believe it, it was fun for the day it lasted 😄
just realised I've been smiling for the last 25 minutes ! good job you two
morning can you burn the old wood i no some places wont let you but good to no you have got rid of them you no you are brave to do wot you two have done again i wish you all the best and love watching your vidsyou will have a nice bit of land when all done good luck
We have had a few little fires of clean timber but most of the caravan wood are man made woods with lots of glues and fire retardants, we live on the end of a residential street so want to respect our neighbours by not burning too many things.
Tireless workers !!! Unbelievable what you all can accomplish.Wishing you the best, may all your dreams come true.
Thank you so much! 🥰
Wish the world had more young people like yourselves. Great progress guys, can't wait to continue along with your journey
Thanks Jonathan
Just discovered this channel a few days ago-have subscribed and watched all the videos. Wow, you’re making amazing progress with everything!

70yo, retired gardener in Wisconsin USA and jealously wishing I could trade places. With all your hard work, it's going to be great!!
I'm sure we could use your knowledge on the land once we've got the drainage sorted and we can plan out what we want to plant/grow. Thanks for the support.
Rotterdam, the Netherlands, love you guys! ❤️
Thanks Richard!
25 miles South of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in Crescent Beach. Two blocks from the Pacific Ocean and twenty minutes from the U.S. border. My parents rehabbed houses. I know what you've taken on and I admire you greatly for it.
Just googled and it looks beautiful, we are learning so much from everyones comments about places we need to visit in the world.
I know white rock well 😁
@@ukpaullouis2708
Do you live here? When you walk along the beach in White Rock which is the small city next to us you can look South across the bay and see the U.S. about a 1/4 mile away. There is a park at the South end of White Rock at the Peace Arch border crossing where as long as you don't leave the park boundaries you are allowed to enter from the U.S or Canada and you are not required to pass through the respective border customs offices.
A long time ago when I was a kid me and my friends would walk from White Rock to the border to go fishing. With no Id or passports we would go across for the afternoon and bring back what we caught if we did catch anything. The border guards just smiled and said good luck. Obviously that can not happen nowadays. When I was in White Rock there was no parking lots in the Beach and the flood tunnel under the Railroad was still there just across from the only Greek restaurant on the beach. There were two sets of railroad tracks and no barriers at all. Obviously the place and people there have changed a lot since then.
Kardella Australia here, enjoying watching your progress
Emilie's Brother lives in Melbourne so not too far from you, lovely spot.
Great vlog, you work so hard, bless. Greetings from Somerset, so not that far away from you at all. Take care folks.
Lovely part of the world, Emilie grew up in Wiltshire and her brother lives in Somerset

This channel is like a drug - the more I watch the more I want to watch! You guys work so hard. It’s good to see that you play hard with Maggie as well - she’s sooo lovely. Now that the caravans are gone I’m sure you will see progress speed up. Can’t wait to see excavator action! Hope your wrist is recovering Jon. Dave Birmingham.

Thanks so much J 😊 xxx
Another great vid i just hope you have time to enjoy the land and not all work
plenty of time to enjoy it in the future, its more labour than enjoyment at the moment 😂
Nice to see a hard working couple making a difference in this world. Best wishes from Iowa, USA.

You made the right decision in buying this ! You will look back on what you have achieved with pride and satisfaction ! That your doing the job properly is heartwarming 👍

Watching from Auckland, New Zealand!
Our dream to visit one day! Thanks Hans 🙂
I live in Northern California in the Sierra Foothills.
I love your channel and so happy to see Wales represented on RUclips. I’m Welsh-American. 👍🏻♥️💪🏻🏴
Amazing Sue, where are your family connections to Wales? Sierra foothills sound dreamy right now as we are sat un the caravan in the rain with the wind howling 😂
Hey, I'm watching from the same area. Love watching the land clearing.
Port Augusta South Australia AUSTRALIA. The 2 of you are doing a brilliant job and I wish you all the best.❤
Thank you so much Pat 😊 We love Australia! My (Emilie's) brother lives in Melbourne! We visited just before covid and can't wait to go back xx
Laptop slid off my lap and when I put it back in place. a whole new adventure. So, I have subscribed. Just an old man reliving my youth through all of you. Washington State U.S.A.
What a random way to find us 😂 Glad you found us and stuck around Frank.
Another great video. You work so well together plus Maggie of course! It must be so hard to keep your caravan dry and clean in all that weather! Keep going, the site is really starting to take shape. Might be worth running a metal detector over the scrub to find more metal to weigh in! X
A metal detector would be quite fun i think, my uncle has one so might ask him to borrow it and see what we find. Have found some old coins as we've been clearing, nothing crazy but old shillings from the 60's and some currency from the channel islands.
Watching from Nelson, New Zealand. Loving the progress you two have made. I lived in Pembrokeshire for 5 years loved it, but the howling winds and rain I do remember. Cold is an understatement 😩
oh we love Pembrokeshire! We went for our wedding anniversary last year 🥰 it does rain a lot here though, we're very excited for the summer!
BC, Canada : )
Good timing getting the caravans were taken apart before the snow, eh.
God bless! I'm so glad I found your channel nearly at the start. Looking forward to seeing all the cool stuff you do to transform your land.
Thanks Colette, we really want to visit BC, my brother has lived for 5 years in Whistler BC and we still haven't managed the trip across yet, we are also worried we might fall in love with it and never want to leave.
@@CampOutWest Well there is always the chance, lol : )
If you visit, come on over the Vancouver Island with your bro. It's really pretty here. Tofino is a cute surf town, but there is so much more to see.

Hi, many thanks for sharing what’s involved in building a dream, shame u haven’t got a small tractor to aid u clearing the site as my god that looks back breaking work , massive respect , maybe a local company may see ur video and offer to lend u one, , following with great interest , plus as each day passes hope ur dreams become closer , stay safe and well, from kent Uk
Thanks Gary, a tractor would be great i agree. Feels like we are getting somewhere now with the amount of stuff we've removed now, hopefully we can get a dry spell to get our excavator driver and machine on site to help make the next big change.
@@CampOutWest ur so very welcome as it’s deserved , a good few years ago I cleared 1/2 acre by hand and that was hard enough so can just imagine how difficult it is with all the extra amount of land u have , particularly being so overgrown with a few caravans thrown in, lol ,, im a retired heating / plumbing engineer and get tired just watching both of u , lol, , hopefully with spring around the corner the land will start to dry to allow to get the excavator in to make life considerably easier for u , all the best to both of u, ps meant to say like ur defender , also a Land Rover owner, had them for around 30 x years now , awesome motors
I Enjoyed Your Vidio , i tore Down a Momble home Park befor retired, 640 homes. so it was nice

Amazing Ruth, I bet you don't get too much snow where you live.
South Africa: Not easy work to clear up other people junk, but, well done. Inspiring.
Well done guys , yep the weather over here near Pickering was pretty much the same, in fact more snow. ! Keep it up and enjoy the next stage
we've worked out our water us all coming off the main road which is waterlogging everything so hoping if we can divert that into our existing culvert it should make a big difference to the land. Our diesel heater has stopped working yesterday error code 10 but its so awful outside i don't want to get on my back under the caravan to sort it out. i'm guessing either its sooted up already or some water in the fuel. Will hopefully sort this week as we're using an electric pannel heater now which i'm guessing it thirsty on the electric.
@@CampOutWest all sent to try us , but keep battling on , you’ll get there ; wish I was closer to give you a hand
Loving the progress, you are both working so hard you can really see the difference you are making, can't wait for the next instalment. 😃
Thanks Bev
Hi, Can I sugest that you save the enamal sink and see what you get on ebay/market place. Might be worth more that scrap.
I think by the time you see this video it would have already gone.
Thanks Colin, that sink wen with the rest of the scrap, if it was in a usable condition we would have kept it, we love enamel finished metal items, all our bowls and plates we use are enamel. Our local town Llanelli has the nickname "tin town" or "tinopolis" as it was famous for tin an enamel plates goods back in the day.
@@bridgwll Long gone now 😀
I'm absolutely hooked on your fabulous adventure. I have to mention this though--In video after video, Emilie is not only wearing white and looking impeccable, also wearing what looks like street clothes, lovely jackets and coats that looked untouched by all this intensely hard and dirty work. I wear scrubby work clothes for this kind of thing, as I would ruin an outfit like that in approximately 15 seconds. How do you do that?! Anyway, I'm just mesmerized by your land renovation. It's simply brilliant!
Wow love to see you two great land you have there great work done and progress.
Well done on the cash for your hard work recycling your scrap.look forward to the nest one.

Amazing, my (jon) family nearly moved us as kids to Perth Western Aus, i always wonder how life would have been if i'd have grown up there.
@@CampOutWest, I think you are better off now in the U.K. Possibly life here was better than in the U.K. back in the 70's and 80's but I think the U.K. started to overtake us in the 90's and is now streets ahead of us in the 10's and 20's.

Thanks Iva 🙂 we went to Croatia a few years ago and loved it so much!
I'm originally from the Greater Cleveland Area in Ohio (the Rust Belt), which people for decades have ignored and made fun of while the people continue to suffer (its like a smaller sized Detroit, Michigan). I admire you reclaiming property that people just dumped trash on and mistreated the land. I wish you both the best in making your dreams come true!
Thanks for sharing, we are enjoying googling all the locations everyone is watching from xxx
I can't get enough of your videos, you are doing an amazing work out there! Much love from Brazil!
Thanks for the support Matheus, Bon Dia! 🤙
Hi Jon and Emilie - I admire your hard work and tenacity with clearing your land - it must feel overwhelming to see all the piles of stuff that still need clearing our before you can start to build your tiny home - I was just wondering: Can't you re-use some of the glass/ window panels if you wanted to make a greenhouse ?
Hi Alex, we had thought about keeping the glass, we think about keeping alot of the stuff but there so much we have just decided to get rid of most materials as we don't want to hoard things and have to store it and move it multiple times, for now we are just getting rid of most things to the recycling as like you said it is overwhelming and we find it easier to deal with when we are physically removing the clutter from the land, keeping some stuff kinda feels like we are making more mess. We have a big woodpile and stacks of polystyrene we are keeping for future projects but haven't kept any caravan glass.
My late Mother was from Wales and it is a dream of mine to buy some land there. Will follow your journey guys and this first video was just great. All the best from Perth Western Australia
One hears how fast the Amazon forest will reclaim abandoned land... amazing that nature will do the exact same thing in Wales!
We've been looking at the land over the years on google earth! So cool scrolling through the photos over the years
Nice video. Like from Ukraine 🔵🟡
Hope you and your family are keeping safe out there ✌

Said it before and I'll say it again. This brings back so many 1970's memories of living here in Oxfordshire in one of those exact damp ridden flimsy 'mobile homes' even down to where the fire was!!!
