Fun Fact, you can go above 100% completion in FFX-2. I finished the gay 2 or three times, not sure about the exact number but I now have a completion of 108%.
I remember I managed to get 100% and the perfect ending on FFX-2 back in the day on ps2, but it was so damn complicated to obtain. You basically need to do a lot of backtracking, cannot skip any dialogues and do things that you normally never thought you needed to do. Like using the commspheres in Chapter 4 all the time, checking every location accessible to see if there's something happening. Or the matchmaking quest, that one was a pain in the ass
Yeah, X-2 is still probably the hardest 100% I've ever done. Getting the perfect ending was well worth the time spent meticulously talking and grabbing specific items or doing specific actions during specific chapters for fractions of a completion percentage.
Perfect ending is a let down, and i wish there was something more with doing more than 100%. The ending with her and Tidus at the beach was more than enough for those two. Would have liked to see something about Payne or Rikku. Does Rikku like Gippal? I was a little confused on that after getting all the scenes.
Me hearing that there is a secret ending in nine: “ OMG! I HAVE to go back and get it!” Me hearing just what the ending is: “ Oh. Who cares about that?”
Even with the strategy guides from when I got both games on PS2, it's so easy to mess up getting FFX-2's secret ending. At the very beginning of the game, when the very first mission was over I saw that I didn't have the right percentage and it was because I didn't talk to the moogle. I took full use of all the saves, because that game is so rough to get the secret ending.
I did it without a guide in FFX2 no internet in 2009 I had no tips. I did everything searched everything talk to everyone see everyone. Get all spheres you can fight every where you can. 284 hrs on that game I spent. 5-6 restarts
@existent David , no internet in 2009? Are you kidding? I used to write important information on a paper after looking on the internet because my PS2 was in my room and the computer in the living room. I think I must have start the game three or four time to get it right. My worst memory was in Zanarkand with the freaking monkeys. Gosh I spent so much time on this mini game in every play through..
I see a lot of people talking about how difficult X-2's perfect ending is, and I just want to say... Even without a guide, it's not hard to 100% X-2 if you just play it twice with new game plus. There is WAY more than 100% total completion, though the game stops tracking once you hit 100. There's a major choice at the beginning of chapter 2 (pick who to give the sphere to), and if you pick a different side in both playthroughs that nets A LOT of different scenes and extra completion points. The "perfect" ending is only incredibly hard IF you insist on getting it on the first playthrough. But considering you NEED to play through the game twice anyway to see almost everything (again, major choice that affects a lot of future scenes relatively early in the game, as well as alternate outcomes to location endings) it's not a big deal. There are tons of small things you can actually miss and still be totally okay. This is a game that you're SUPPOSED to play through multiple times to try to see everything, so why try so hard to get the perfect ending on the first go when you can basically guarantee it on the second?
MyCurrentObsession Yeah, I 100% it on my second run with New Game plus. Even then, on my first run I did fairly well. The thing I didn’t know I was suppose to do on my first run was watch those stupid sphere grid scene.
You literally explained why it's hard, you'd have to play the game TWICE and remember what you did so you don't repeat your steps. A lot of the steps are also time-gated, so you NEED to do certain missions in specific orders or you'll miss them. You don't need to act like it's easy just to get idiotic tough guy points online you know, it just makes you look stupid.
@@AzureRoxe Considering how major a choice the beginning of chapter 2 is and the affect it has throughout literally the rest of the game, it should be PRETTY EASY to remember which side you chose the first time so you can pick the other one. Outside of that, assuming you actually went out of your way to explore and do sidequests the first time, you can basically ignore ALL of that on a second run since it's the same and you already have those points. The only things you have to "remember" that might be an issue is the whole "press X" in two specific scenes thing and to talk to Maechen in Leblanc's mansion in chapter 3, both of which you would need to know ANYWAY to try and get a perfect on a first run. New game + makes it easier because you can take the game a little less seriously and actually miss some stuff in BOTH runs while still getting the desired ending instead of trying desperately to do everything right the first time (including picking the "right" side in chapter 2, since only one choice even ALLOWS you to get 100% on a first run, the other choice has a few less points to offer) and then finding out in the ending that you apparently missed one tiny thing and because of that you're not QUITE at 100% so no perfect ending for you. I am not a "tough guy" nor am I trying to be, I was trying to make a legitimate point that it's considerably easier to just beat the game twice (second time skipping literally most of the game, since the majority of the game IS sidequests) than it is to get the perfect ending first try. Piss off.
@@IceQueen975 What's wrong with taking advantage of a feature the game has to offer? I don't play games to brag about how skilled or awesome or thorough I am, I play them to HAVE FUN and enjoy the story. And I like X-2, so I have no problem playing it a second time to have an easier time unlocking more content - especially since the game is clearly MADE to be played more than once, what with the Youth League vs. New Yevon decision early on that affects the rest of the game. In games without NG+, sure, try hard to get the secret endings on the first run because you have to. In games with NG+, use the tools at your disposal to get more content out of the game without driving yourself insane. That's my outlook.
Good job Final Fantasy Union crew! I have yet to finish final fantasy viii, but I plan to beat it soon. I hope Final Fantasy VII Remake gets a secret ending, but manages to stay faithful to the main plot.
@@kyotheman69 The 13 series was great. They did something new, as Sqaure Enix often does, and it was answered by so-called whiny "fans" who were the vocal minority about a great game(s). 13 series is better than a lot of the earlier games, and even a few of the later ones.
I personally liked 13 and 13-2 as someone that played every single final fantasy, but I only liked 13-2 for it's gameplay. Had something similar to pokemon/jade cocoon but not as childish. The story on the other hand... 13-2 had no story at all, conclusion was cayus wanted to kill anything bc salty. like wtf
@@darkdestructer Caius wasnt salty, he was literally driven mad after thousands of years of watching what was essentially his daughter die. He stated to have always taken her per Etros orders from birth and raised her, and she dies over and over, hundreds of times, and he knows hes cursed to watch this for literally ever. So no, he wasnt salty, he was quite literally driven insane and just wanted to stop watching his daughter die. (he said hes known and protected hundreds of Yeuls. She lived on average about 16 years, so I would say hes lived at least like 200o yrs)
I saw the secret ending for X2-2 a while back, World of Longplay had someone playing it and also beat it in 1 playthrough. Via Infinito was really tough, Chac can even get past Ribbon and the last guy was hard even with the Catnip Gunner Strategy.
You better off without a dad broh, you can do whatever you want. l alwasy wanted my parents to divorce ,since a kid. l was always so envious of single mom childs
@hardmode I see why you would want that. double birthday presents and Christmas' presents but that comes at the price of your parents being unhappy and alone. if its a joke, its a pretty dark joke but no harm is done as your parents (i hope are well and happy)
As someone who has gotten the X2 perfect ending 2 100% on the original hardware first go... it's not worth it. I still have nightmares years later about it. It put you into a weird state of anxiety the whole game. Thankfully we have RUclips now if you want to see it.
No joke, I just beat x-2 two nights ago with a buddy. We were following a guide religiously to get the perfect ending. It was all on track, but the scene didn’t play. It ended at 99% and that was just plain soul crushing
IIRC, if you follow a FFX-2 guide to the tee, you *have to* side with the Youth League in order for it to be 100% (siding with New Yevon brings it up to only 99%, I think because of potentially missing some Nooj dialogue)
Are you positive you have the requirements of FFX-2's "normal ending B" (what I call the Sad Ending) right? I could be wrong, but I've always thought that the way to get the ending was by doing the specific things needed for the Good Ending (namely knowing to press X in two specific sequences in chapter 3 and 5, and answering "yes" to the Fayth) but having a completion percentage below a certain point. I really thought that the good ending required a certain percentage of completion (I don't know the exact amount, but I would say it's probably around 70). I actually have a guidebook for this game, and it is thorough enough that following it can lead to a 100% perfect ending in one playthrough, but it doesn't mention the sad ending so I don't know the exact requirements.
There's also a ending in X-2, on the credits you have to press X and O simotaniiusly till you hear a whistle then when the credits finish, there's a scene in besaid where Tidus is brought back and dropped in the water the same way he showed up in X
Valkyrie profile one had a hard secret ending which made a whole other final dungeon. Like ffx you had to do everything you could but I’m addition you had to do certain actions that are contrary to what you’d expect like sacrificing a plot important charecter the second you get him and disobeying things the tutorial tells you.
It's a nice little scene. I remember seeing it the first time 15 years ago. Another interesting tidbit is if you keep giving the wrong answer when Baku is explaining the kidnapping plan about 60 times (don't remember the exact number) he says something funny.
Doing FFX atm, I've beaten it atleast a dozen times but never got the celestial weapons or did any of the optional bossed, pro tip don't do it having to dodge 200 lightning strikes is doable but you really don't want to
That shit was sooo frustrating. I got to like 70+ and got hit. Gave up and stopped playing the game entirely for years after that. Emulated it recently, edited the save file and just gave everyone their celestial weapons ... and they aren't even all that good =/
Never really understood most peoples problem with lightning dodging. I always wait till I have no encounters equipment and go back to thunder plains. Cause lulu is terrible anyways so don't need to grab her stuff right away. I would gladly do lightning dodging over the chocobo racing or butterfly catching
The main problem are the chapter limited sidequeststhat the game had. Especially since not all of the Sidequests are always shown as ones. Some were hidden which means taht you could only find him by going to the location and my chance asking the right PC or look in the right direction with a certain camera in a late chapter. It´s total bullshit . Worst thing is that some quests are fucked up like the annoying Monkey quest.
If you chose new yevon you cant get 100% so choose youth league its possible on 1 walkthrough but in new game plus after 100% go yevon then complete and you will have 106%
I think you need to check your Final Fantasy 14 secret ending facts because I'm recognized as the hero from version 1.0 with in the tutorial of the game so
Jesus Ramirez im not a ffxiii hater but I hated ff xiii-2, the whole jump in xx timeline to get x item or unlock world was annoying. They barely gave any tips.
@@moufou4life I did find that bizarre and trust me it was unusual but to me it did give me a sense of what if something were to happen or you took a different action and what was the consequences of your actions but I do see where you are coming from
i've played through x-2 several times and only got the perfect ending once. i had to use a guide. i later tried playing it again for the perfect ending without the guide and of course i screwed up somewhere in like chapter 3 and missed a crimson sphere. getting the "good" ending is so easy in comparison.
The perfect ending is so hard to do. I never did it, but I was close 7 years when my ps2 was stolen. Have the remaster now and playing X with my wife so plan on doing it hopefully by the end of the year.
i got the secret ending to x-2. wasn't bad with a walkthrough. then the hard part was that 100 floor dungeon with an almost impossible boss at the bottom. it was damn worth it when i saw that final scene. i wanted to see that scene since i first saw the after credit scene in x.
The World of Final Fantasy Good ending isn't actually hard to get imo, I played it and got the Good Ending without any trouble at all. No guides, no tips, no anything, the game basically tells you what you need to do, and none of the Eidolons were that hard to defeat.
I've always hated when to get a secret or true ending to a game, you first need to beat the game, then do other stuff that may not become available until after you've beaten it. That kind of thing always completely destroys the immersion for me, in that by having that kind of requirement, that ending cannot coherently exist canonically, even if the game tries to treat it as some sort of true ending. Since there's no way that the characters themselves, within the context of their own world, would have been able to realistically meet those requirements.
Bubble Bobble arcade version. Now there's a hard to get secret "true" ending. Also one of the earliest sets of cheat codes / alternate starts of any arcade game too!
I am no Completionist or Trophy hunter but if i am proud of one thing, its getting the Perfect Ending in FF X-2 wich cost me 273 hours of playtime, but it was worth it.( at the time "Internat" wasnt as big as today....)
Thanks for mentioning X-Will because I was about to be like X-2 did have good fanservice as a secret ending but even then the fanservice ended with Will and Tidus and Yuna essentially breaking up. So much for them being relationship goals lmao.
Yeah but there's hints that they stayed friends and possibly may get back together. Imo it was drama for the sake of possibly another sequel, a set up for something like a romance triangle.
As someone who played Revenant Wings and beat all the missions offered because I wanted to, when I found out the boss was level 99, I said fuck it and put it in storage because it was way too damn unforgiving.
to those that wonder how hard it is to get FFX-2 100% completion ending well it's fairly easy you just need to do a lot of backtrack, waiting and watching, can't skip a single dialogue that would mess up your percentage, have to go to sleep after every chapter, have to chat with almost everyone in the game & waiting for a scene to happen in the comsphere might take hours because you game might bugged out so you just have to wait until the scene pops up.
Kazama Kido God Jesus, those stupid sphere grid scene were the worse. But your correct, FFX-2 perfect ending isn’t hard. I did it on my second play through without any guide.
You also need to do certain missions and levels in specific orders or you'll lock yourself out of other ones. There's a lot you have to do constantly that can potentially screw you.
@@AzureRoxe Yes and the mission weren't even hard it's just annoying and need to be done with care if you don't wanna screw things up. I remember ending my game at a 99.8% completion because i missed a part that i had to talk to someone at mushroom rock road. That put me in a state of depression because I can't backtrack that dialogue will not pop up anymore I had screw up the orders and sequence
It may not *fully* count, but technically Square had a super secret in FFVI, aka, FF3 in North America, considering Shadow being in the 2nd half of the game, not to mention all of his dreams so that you'd get an extra scene at the end. Was the first one in my local area to, in all honesty, accidentally figure this one out without help, as I think I forgot to pause as the timer to get off the airship counted down and had to walk away, only to come back to the timer having stopped at, like, 1 second left with a dialogue pop up. Also first to get swallowed and find the hidden area by that weird underground creature on an island 2nd half of game.
I'm going to start playing X-2 soon but I'm unsure of something (and the conflicting blogs don't help). Do you need to reach at least 75% completion or 90% completion alongside the other stipulations to get the good ending?
1 recomendation when talking to meachen do not interupt him any any convo with him (ps voice of meachen is dwight schultz /murdock from the original A team series or charles barcley in star trek)
I'm completely confused and have been for years... I did not meet all the conditions to get the "secret ending" in final fantasy 10 2, yet I got the secret ending... I wish somebody could explain that one to me
It takes forever for FF13-2... and finding some of the fragments took me a longer time than I was used to at the time... and that was back when the game first came out....
I can't tell you how many fucking playthroughs I did when I was in middle school trying to fucking get the mascot sphere job in FFx-2. Till this day even with the international version, I still haven't got the mascot
Huh. I got 100% (across two playthroughs), whistled every time I was meant to, and did everything right, but I didn't get the scene with Yuna and Tidus at Zanarkand. I got the scene with them at Besaid, and a scene with Shinra and some creatures at Zanarkand. Does getting 100% on the creature creator make it impossible to see the perfect ending? How annoying.
@@ThorsShadow Just looked it up: "[...]The Good ending is now immediately followed by Shinra's ending, and the Perfect ending can no longer be viewed at all. So if it's important to you that you see the Perfect ending with your own eyes, you need to watch it BEFORE you finish the Creature Creator stuff." I hate this so much! The good ending is so amazing but in combination with the perfect ending scene with Tidus and Yuna in Zanarkand it's an even more wholesome/rewarding ending! While looking up some rare creatures I stumbled upon the Information that the Shinra Ending would overwrite the Yuna/Tidus P.Ending so I completed the Creature creation with only one Monster missing, then I'd release the final Monster, clear the game without saving, watch the Shinra ending and reload the save file.
I managed a 95% on my first play through of x-2. I’ve always been a completionist, backtracking is normal for me, I think I missed the factual boss to complete bikanel and the whistling…. I feel like via infinito might’ve been missed too. Kept saying I’d go back and didn’t…. I’ve never been able to bring myself to do it again…. But I’m doing my platinum X run as we speak so maybe when that’s done.
I usually just play through the games my own way and youtube whichever endings I didn't get if I'm interested. That's what I did with X-2. I don't usually have the time or will to pull out a guide and play through again. At least not right away. Less about endings and more about cryptic requirements, on my second playthrough of XII I intentionally ignored the relevant chests so I could pick up the Zodiac Spear. (I used a guide.) The spear was OP, sure, but I didn't feel especially accomplished. I generally dislike permanent missables in games that are over 20 hours long. Being able to go back and do something later is a sign of good game design (for longer games) in my book.
20 hours is pretty average length for RPGs so why do you consider it long? Sure, permanent missables are annoying in games, but don't necessarily consider not having them good game design since rewarding vigilance and persistence can be a sign of good game design, plus not all permanent missables are good in every game, at least compared to later items, and are only necessary for 100% completion sometimes and if not, then 100% inventory for games without inventory limits.
Aw, man! I clicked on a video by the channel Final Fantasy Union because I wanted to see the hardest secret ending to unlock from the Walking Dead TV show! Why oh why didn't the channel Final Fantasy Union specify that their videos are based around Final Fantasy! How am I supposed to figure out the secret ending for the SATs!?
WHAT!!!?? You can bring back Tidus?? FF7 Original was a much simpler time to unlocking all the secrets. Since then it's been jacked to over 9000! Puts me off playing them is there is so many endings and secret loot that you need to do to get it all.
It's been like 9 years but I still have war flashbacks to when I got 99% when finishing FFX-2. I followed the guide to the dot and I still know what fucked me over: THE FUCKING COMMSPHERE scene of Isaaru in Zanarkand. I had the camera facing that fucker for 10 minutes and he never said SHITTT so I left because I thought I was supposed to just look at him. NOPE. APPARENTLY MY CAMERA WASN'T IN THE SWEET SPOT THAT INITIATED THE CUTSCENE. I already disliked the dude for turning the place into a tourist attraction but he is still dead to me to this day because of that commsphere.
Ive gotten the true ending in ff10-2 on my first playthrough for the ps2 version, around 10ish years ago. I followed a guide to get it and at the time it was my personal greatest video game achievement (still might be actually). On the ps4 remaster of 10-2, I got all the way to the end of the game, but only had 99% completion... turns out I forgot to talk to Yuna wearing the moogle outfit and hiding at the docks, at literally the very start of the game... I was so upset. Unfortunately I haven't done another playthrough yet since then, but someday I'll get 100% on a current gen system and get the trophy to forever show all my friends lol

I prefer the X2 "Its better this way" ending. It shows Yuna grew more in my opinion. Plus I'm not really a fan of Will or X2.5 everyone just feels so out of character.
First off, I love Final Fantasy. From the first time I played 1 on the NES to 10 and all points in between are all in my list of top games of all time. My love for the franchise as a whole has dipped significantly in the past 10 years though. Things like multiple endings are great, but not when they change the story. And even less if your characters experience a bad ending because you beat the game. I just don’t understand it. But I also don’t understand how forcing someone to pay $13 a month to play what is supposed to be a cannon game so I guess I’m the one who is wrong in my thoughts on it.
I finished X-2 with roughly 99.8%. I can only see one thing that could have possibly been missed and it only accounted for 0.2%. I still got the perfect ending though.... Not sure why that happened. Just no fucking trophy. And I am NOT doing that again

World of Final Fantasy's good ending (minus the machina) is not very hard. As for the FF12 Reverent Wings, it takes a bit of leveling up and dedication, but it is doable. In my opinion, Reverent Wings is more fun than the original FF12 game, so I was more invested in completing it.
The easiest ending to obtain in FFX-2 is the bad ending? Ha! You'd have to lose on purpose just to see that one since Vegnagun's head is pathetically easy to beat.
They're nothing compared to the KH secret endings. "Here folks...get your butt kicked by 10+ superbosses for several hours and we'll give you some vague cutscene teaser for the next game that explains nothing."

“Secret Endings” might be pushing it but 5 does have 15 different ending depending on how the final boss battle goes.

At least with Nier Automata you can go back to any scene so you can trigger the ending without playing through the whole game twice.

meh FF13 series in general is insulting anyways, it was total mess.
Oh no, that's the worst! It's happened to me so many times too :( ~Lauren
IIRC, if you follow a FFX-2 guide to the tee, you *have to* side with the Youth League in order for it to be 100% (siding with New Yevon brings it up to only 99%, I think because of potentially missing some Nooj dialogue)
Like Vauni said, you NEED to side with Youth League thanks to it being the only way to get some bits of dialogue and scenes later on.
I remember the official strategy guide saying something like that too!
Yep, I have the official Piggyback guide and iirc you are actually correct.
I cried at that "do I pass" fades to black

Valkyrie profile one had a hard secret ending which made a whole other final dungeon. Like ffx you had to do everything you could but I’m addition you had to do certain actions that are contrary to what you’d expect like sacrificing a plot important charecter the second you get him and disobeying things the tutorial tells you.
I messed up the super ending by doing TOO well and not knowing it would be an issue.
I mean the disobeying stuff makes sense in terms of the plot and the seal
There is also the joke ending in FFX-2, the 'monkey' one. And a rather cool alternate ending in FFXV's DLC
No one talks about the dumpster fire that was XV.
You talking about Ignis's ending? That is such a better happy ending than the real one!
Man, I had no idea about that FF9 scene! Another reason to do another playthrough, thanks!
I wondered if X-2 would be on here when I saw this thumbnail. I must've spent 100 hours on that damn game and still couldn't get 100%.
If you chose new yevon you cant get 100% so choose youth league its possible on 1 walkthrough but in new game plus after 100% go yevon then complete and you will have 106%

there is also the secret ending in dissidia 012 which is a continuation of the secret ending from the first game
i got the secret ending to x-2. wasn't bad with a walkthrough. then the hard part was that 100 floor dungeon with an almost impossible boss at the bottom. it was damn worth it when i saw that final scene. i wanted to see that scene since i first saw the after credit scene in x.
Ugh, used one of the walk throughs and got 100% and missed armor and garment grids!! So upseting!
Nice vid makes me want to go back and play ff xiii-2 to see all the endings

I had to Gameshark the hell out of most of these classic endings 😒
Same especially ffx 2
FFX-2 is the hardest! XD
Took me for freaking EVER. But I got it. And it was worth it.
I hear you took me nearly 1 year
Could never get past level 80 in the hidden dungeon. Even with cat nip

I'm going to start playing X-2 soon but I'm unsure of something (and the conflicting blogs don't help). Do you need to reach at least 75% completion or 90% completion alongside the other stipulations to get the good ending?
So much effort for ffx-2 then completely blown apart by ffx2.5 and will. They're so fixated on making it a dark story, no matter what.
X-2 is one where you need to make separate save files every time. No saving over anything. It's that bad.

I got the scene with them at Besaid, and a scene with Shinra and some creatures at Zanarkand. Does getting 100% on the creature creator make it impossible to see the perfect ending? How annoying.
Sadly, as far as I remember, the 100 % creature ending does indeed overwrite the 100 % perfect ending scene in Zanarkand :(

I hate this so much!

It's been like 9 years but I still have war flashbacks to when I got 99% when finishing FFX-2. I had the camera facing that fucker for 10 minutes and he never said SHITTT so I left because I thought I was supposed to just look at him. NOPE.

They're nothing compared to the KH secret endings. "Here folks...get your butt kicked by 10+ superbosses for several hours and we'll give you some vague cutscene teaser for the next game that explains nothing."
