    This is detailed guide on how to qualify for income housing and score high on the priority waiting list for housing. The detailed information I will be sharing, will help you score high on their assessment questions and housing prioritization tool.
    I have the actual HUD operations manuals that will show you how to best answer their intervention assessment questions, and how to score high on the housing prioritization wait list.
    Continuum of Care has designed the Coordinated Access System described in this manual to coordinate and strengthen access to housing for families and individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. The Coordinated Access System institutes consistent and uniform assessment and referral processes to determine if they will qualify for Low Income Housing and secure the most appropriate response to each individual or family’s immediate and long-term housing needs.
    Priority Waiting List Score
    A single assessment tool will be used to prioritize homeless households for entry into permanent supportive housing or rapid rehousing program waiting list. The assessment tool is used to target youth, families,and single individuals. The housing prioritization tool focuses on the length of literal homelessness,physical & mental disabilities, frequency of service usage, & lack of adequate mental or health care.
    Additionally, families with minor children presenting for assessment are asked to provide information regarding what school district the child(ren) attend. Referrals for this population will be sent with this data point so that children do not have to change schools. The assessment asks questions tailored to each population.
    1. Homeless history
    2. History of involvement with hospitals or jails
    3. Criminal background history
    4. Mental health history and lack of care
    5. Physical health history and lack of care

      Hi, I have a question regarding qualifications based on living with family for over 1 year. I believe u stated that if youve been living in one place over 90 days straight even without a lease u wouldnt qualify for coc is that correct? If so what would u recommend as an alternative option for housing assistance? Thank you

I really would like your advice on how to apply for HUD. How should I start? Now if you want get normal HUD heres everything they have www.hud.gov/states/florida/renting
      With a mental illness I would go with a COC program in the first link, being its much faster and they will pay all your rent PSH .I hope this helps .

    I'm own property that I'd like to offer to the state of GA (Atlanta) for Rapid ReHousing and other programs like COC.
    Question 1: How do I go about getting my properties into the system? I get flooded by people saying they need housing assistance and I'm not sure who to send them to so they can afford one of our spaces.
    Question 2: Also, how much are the vouchers for?
    Question 3: Do they allow vouchers for home-sharing/coliving arrangements (private bed/shared room, bath and common areas)?
    Question 4: Last question, how long does it take for someone to get a voucher/assistance?
    What you're doing is amazing. You are a hero seriously, these waters are difficult to navigate successfully. Thanks in advance!

    • @Section8Consulting
      @Section8Consulting  4 года назад +2

      Question 1 ,You need to go to HUD office and make (Request for Unit Approval)stick with COC
      Question 2, COC will pay the rent up to 100% no limit on time ,The Hud vouchers only last 2 years and pay less each month as the state wings them off (risky if client cant pay ).
      Question 3, House sharing etc , thats called being a boarding house and yes they allow this if you pass there inspections.
      Question 4, COC they can get in a 1 -30 days . HUD vouchers waiting list 6 months - 10 years depending on waiting list.
      If you take in elderly, formerly homeless, disabled you will likely get 100% payment with no time limits,Hud vouchers very flaky but it worth try if you think the renter will pay .Once your in the system you have no issue get renters very fast.The payment you get is based on the market rate for your area plus the number of rooms you have.
      Thank you for your kind words.Share what you have learned and help those who need it the most .

    Hi I live in North Jersey I am severely asthmatic and I have 2 children. My daughter is hooked up on a ventilator. My parents kicked me out 2 years ago. When I applied for housing in the city where I resided I stated that I was still living with my parents because I thought that I wouldn't be eligible if said I was staying in a different city. I called housing department today to check my place on the waiting list and I was told that I am 480th on the waiting list. During these 2 years I was living with a friend. I would pay her rent but she would get drunk and kick me out often and when she did I had to stay in motels. I am back at my parents home for now but I am worried they will kick me out again and I have no where to turn to.II

      First off, if your 480 on list 66,000 your insanely close to being housed in few months.You need to apply at a COC so they can move you to a hotel till your number comes up so you don't have to deal with drunks.

Also not only do i have a ruptured disk Asthma/ copd Depression / Bipolar anxiety and was addicted to narcotic medication until they cracked down on laws and doctors are afraid to prescribe it any more .I am a single parent with 2 children 14 year old twins one who is severely autistic. And 2 adult children one of who lives with me . What I don't get is why it's so hard it seems and maybe it's just me to really get a One-Stop shop for help. Being that I can't work because I'm a full-time caretaker of my son. And even when I search for resources for him to be possibly placed out of the home so I can work and support my family they have no real help out there it is very frustrating and very sad. I can't get respite care for my son because I have no place to call home. And being a single parent and having no one to really watch him makes it even more difficult they need better programs for single mothers with or without special needs children. Thank you so much and God bless all praying that each and everyone of you get a place to call home .

    Hi. I wanted to ask a question. I was kicked off of housing because I got a grant for college and didnt tell them. I thought govt money for college was strictly for that purpose and didnt know hud would consider it income; as most of the money was used by the college. So they say I owe them money. They kicked me off 5 yrs. Well its been 9yrs. They are now accepting appplications. If I go down there- can I get back on housing while paying the 'debt' off?

    • @Section8Consulting
      @Section8Consulting  4 года назад +2

      The records from 9 years ago are long gone with HuD .The HUD rules have changed drastically from those days.You will not have a problem and the debt most likely vanished from there records years ago.This is a civil matter ,so no jail time is possible.Had you done this in 2014 would be up the creek, as they now good records.Your loan is considered debt now so that works in your favor.They are interested in your in your income in the past year not way back.

    • @Section8Consulting
      @Section8Consulting  4 года назад +2

      Let me address few things to ease your mind , the reason your scare is because the only example of homeless you have seen is the hardcore homeless on the street , they don't represent the majority of people in shelters, programs or HUD housing, In fact most are fairly average people between 35- 60 and are Not high , drunk or filthy .All 3 medical issues you have makes you highly qualified for a COC housing , in fact you would likely score in the top 5%... COC housing doesn't require employment of any kind only that you apply , take there test /questionnaire and then you are place in 1 of 3 types of housing.FOOD STAMPS - more than likely got the 90 day emergency allotment, so all you would need to do is volunteer 10-20 hours a month at place like the library and you would then qualify again for food stamps, they wont tell you this because this is how get people out the door.When you apply for COC housing you can ask your worker to help you with volunteer work food stamps to you remain qualified.I would need to know the state and city you live in then I can send you there employee manual with basically all the questions, answers and things they dont want you to know.Once you study it and learn how score high go apply and you will get housing ....

      If your not on lease and planning to move out in 14 days then yes you can apply for housing .If your staying I see no point you going to a COC.

      The thing is we do not have enough space for both of us with my grandma but the thing is I don’t want to affect my parents If I filled as homeless for the fact that I am going to include my sister, also the fact that we don’t have mental illness does that drastically affects our elegibility?

    I live in Ontario Canada, I'm currently half way through an unplanned pregnancy and I lost my job do to Covid 19. I haven't been on a lease in almost 2 years but I have been renting a room. Unfortunately I need to be out in a little less then 2 months, and baby comes about 2 months later. I have already applied for housing but I'm worried as I do not have employment any longer and I'm not sure what job I can find and actually work while being a single mom to a newborn. I just need help, I've been a working person my whole life and I've always kept my head above water but right now I'm drowning. I don't want to be pregnant on the streets so I'm going to be looking into an emergency shelter when I have to leave at the end of next month but I don't want to raise my baby in a shelter :( I would love to eventually work and go to school so I can get a good job and be completely independent but I just need some help for a little while, I'm so desperate. I never thought I would ever be in a position like this.

      @@Section8Consulting I'm mostly just worried about my chances of getting into housing before baby comes in mid september. I know I need to call to update my application once I'm considered homeless, but what then? Is there anything else I can do to secure my chances of getting a place to live? Will being in a shelter while pregnant increase my chances of being housed faster? I'm so scared to stay in a shelter while pregnant :(

      Shelters separate women by gender and by having kids, so you have nothing to worry about other than dealing with women in your situation , in fact pregnant women tend to get the best services shelters have to offer which are private rooms.All theses factors will elevate you to the top of the housing list and they will most likely put you in hotel until you get your housing.You should get casework when at the hospital so you have more than one helping you.

      I think you will come out of this situation knowing you can handle just about anything. Most people find there way out of the shelter system fairly fast and life returns normal with you being great deal wiser.

      @@Section8Consulting thank you, also is a disability required for permanent housing? Or as long as you qualify as chronic? I am looking into a women's shelter for help but don't know if I should wait to call this # For a longer period of help with rent. I don't want to get pushed down to Rapid rehousing by doing This. Any recommendation ?
