Just found this video and I'm only to the part where you are removing the seat stuff. VERY excited to see what you built because I have 3 skis that I need to do bottom work on!!!
Yes you should drain it before hand. The fuel doesn't seem to be a problem but the oil makes the ski smoke a lot when you start it for the first time after flipping it.
Yes I would if you can. If you don't ( which I did not in the video) the oil could potetentiall leak out. When you start the ski, it smokes pretty bad for the first minute of running it also. Good luck with your project!
Fellas same ski went in for wear ring replacment mechanic said someone broke a bolt for jet pump and tried to drill it out now pump is welded to the hull he didn’t want to do anymore force break hull any ideas my options thanks
I don't think jet skis are meant to be supported by their seat/glove box area.. All the crackling noise once the ski is flipped and all the weight of the ski is put into the top side area just seems pretty idiotic. Skis are meant to be lifted/supported by the side rails or from the bottom for a reason.

@MrBison700 that's because you can hydrolock an engine with just oil
What are those pads along your footwells ? Are those like bumper guards if so , where you get them ?😅
Awesome video. Going to be restoring a ski soon. Was wondering if you recommend draining the oil and gas before I turn the ski upside down

will this split horizontally?
What about the engine mounts?
I've seen several vids and no one ever says what the lifting hooks are or where to get them.
Thanks for sharing

Jesus. attach to the nose. That plastic is gonna disintegrate.
its very bad for engine mounts.. too much tension and complete deformation of the hull
