Noticed the wheels slipping on the feeder during the cut. If not done already- spin the wheels around to compensate for the eventual camber in the wheels

Thanks for sharing your video. After 25 years of using a router, I just bought a used 3HP Shaper. Not sure why I didn't earlier. The cost wasn't that much more and you can't put a price on safety. If you were doing 1 kitchen a year (say 35 raised panels) , what size power feeder would you say would be sufficient?? I was thinking just a 3 roller 1/4HP Grizzly. But it's not that much more for a 1HP.

Absolutely. I would never want to downgrade to a router after having a shaper with a feeder. Absolutely worth the cost. And I unfortunately am not sure. I actually need to learn more about feeders. My feeder likes to occasionally slip even tho i think its set up properly. I think 1/4 should be fine. it doesnt take much pressure to push a piece of wood through a sharp bit.

The larger the feeder, the heavier it is. Also the bigger feeders have more speed options. Think of it as, small machine, small feeder. Large machine, large feeder. I have a 1/8HP feeder for my tablesaw and router table. The 1HP feeders are on my shapers, but most of mine are 5HP or larger. One other thing to consider, larger power feeders have larger wheels, that means the minimum size of part must be bigger/longer to adequately be held by the feed rolls.
