My planer has quite a bit of snipe. To prevent it, I run through some scraps at the front and back of what I'm planing.

6:39 I painted or varnished A LOT of interiors as a carpenter/remodeler. Why? Because I could control the end results- I could do two things by painting and finishing my own work: 1) if I did an excellent fit and finish and the painter doesn’t have an impeccable quality that day (or worse- the homeowner paints it!!) the finish obscures my good work. Good paint isn’t noticeable in specifics, but the “wow!” factor is both an emotional response (good) and an intellectual response (customer is proud of what he or she got for their money); and 2) if a few things aren’t exactly “right” - and the bigger the project the more likely you will find you had an ‘oops’ or several- a good painter (you) can recover that with some attention. But even good painters care more about themselves than they do your work whereas you care deeply about the final impressions. And you can control that result and eliminate the “why didn’t my painter fix that?!!” by finishing your work yourself.

Since i already sealed my desk with shellac white primer, after painting my desk in my solid color of choice, should i go straight to clear coat or i should sealed the paint with GF sanding sealer first before clear top coating?

Thanks.. I'm having issues with my white oak. It gets dark after apply rubio, poly and urethane. All test created a dark effect. I'm looking for a flat finish, no effect to the white oak

Is the makita logo on the oil impulse white plastic like the other new impacts, or is it painted white? Nice to not scrape the logo off after a few weeks!

Does the accelerator make the finish a bit less thin or does it just decrease the dry time? I’m having some issues spraying Enduro Var on vertical surfaces and the piece doesn’t lend itself to being sprayed horizontally.

Easiest way is to coat them with epoxy then drum sand them .

All the issues you mentioned are easily adjustable. I check mine about every two months and usually holds square and parallel.

I have been using it for 7 years DIY projects. It’s works great.

I was having problems with the torque on cutting. I thought it was the motor at 1st so I upgraded it to 220. But the problem is not the motor. It’s the fence off throwing the wood off and cause pressure on blade. I keep on having to adjust the fence it get to the point of annoying that I have to constantly double check my tape front and back. I have all same issues.

I just picked this saw up on clearance for $375. For the price I believe it will be a good saw. I’m not a cabinet maker or anything. Jus the occasional rip cut on various projects.

In regards tool brands you can also purchase corded versions of name brand for the similar price as a cheaper cordless brand you just have to deal with inconvenience of a cord. I recommend doing this for heavy used tools until you can upgrade because you can always use the extra power that cheaper brands might not provide.

Wow man, you really nailed it with this video... we need more real advice like this. @2:03 As a Makita guy - I was torn between choosing Milwaukee or Ryobi brad nailer because of the huge price difference but i finally went with the Milwaukee for the exact reasons you just said.. As a wannabe full time woodworker (MEANING: At the moment i don't have access to a shop yet...) the Milwaukee tool functions better on angles, the quality of the holes are better, there is less marring, it feels better in the hands and while shooting it, its going to last longer and has a 5 year warranty just incase... its a no brainer for professionals selling projects - just get the Milwaukee (don't buy DeWalt nails! it doesn't like them, get Metabo HPT/ Hitachi nails - they use a weaker glue that works better) If your just a DIYer making stuff for your house and your not selling your projects then buy the Ryobi.. In fact if the Ryobi comes down to $100 CDN in price i will probably buy it for a spare for the heck of it and maybe to compare them because it is still a great gun.

nice video, wondered if you could help with a project i'm working on. i've made new maple kitchen cabinets and would like a little amber color. thought i would used enduro var-II but it's my understanding enduro poly is a little more durable but doesn't amber. can i spray enduro poly over enduro var-II? also could i used the sanding sealer under the enduro var-II and would i still get the amber tone i'm looking for that the enduro var-II produces?

In correct my friend I have dewalt as well as think and also Parkside I have had my Parkside for years with constant use. For less than 3\4 of the cost don't knock the cheaper brands and don't even think of buying festool
