07:23 gotta disagree here, why rush? The rewards you get from thoroughly completing a mission FAR outweigh any lacklustre rewards for quickly completing a mission.
6:45 When it is time for player on Terminal to see what direction the Communications Dish needs to be pointed, they can use the button prompt (R1 I think) to verbalize the direction. It is then up to the other player rotating the dish to realize which direction it needs to be pointed in for the player on Terminal to complete the objective. Microphone communication isn't necessary for that or any other objective, but of course it can be easier to communicate verbally and certainly more fun with friends as the game allows. Lastly, I should mention, the game allows text chat, so instructions could also be typed to communicate. When playing solo, you play differently, use defensive stratagems and learn to avoid scouts raising alarm more, and would be doing all parts of the objective. Playing with friends, randoms (with or without voice) and solo all work well in the game once you are adequately experienced. Just like in the original Helldivers, it is a relatively easy but always engaging game to get into, but there is much to observe and learn to master it and be able to play on higher difficulties more successfully than not.
Don't disagree on any particular point. What won me over, aside from the very fun and interesting gameplay, is two more minor things. First of all, it's a really cool military aesthetic that takes a LOT of details into account. From the amount of weapons you have to the way they function, you can tell someone really wanted to nerds to have fun with this. The addition of crew-served weapons is something I've rarely seen in any shooter. Reload stages like emptying a magazine, inserting a new one, and charging the weapon each being a different point at which an animation can start if you cancel it, that's a really neat mechanic that I love working around. Second is something I'm hoping gets expanded upon in future updates, customization of weapons and armor. Stratagems are well fleshed-out, but I expect more to be added on those two fronts as well. Some cosmetic customization like colors wouldn't go unwanted, especially given the variety of pieces you can combine from all the warbond sets. The fact you're not pressured to buy any of it is also a bit insane to me nowadays, but extremely welcome and appreciated.
I just finished a game and we failed miserably. And took basically the entire mission time to utterly fail. I had a blast! Watching the last Diver fight for their life for a good solid minute before getting obliterated with only 30 seconds left is the most memorable gaming moment I've had in a long time. This game is going to be great.
Something that could/should be included in review: a PSN account is required to play HD2 on Steam. The Steam listing implies a paid PS+ sub might be required, but from discussions I've seen elsewhere, the PS+ req is only for PS5, and Steam just requires you spend 10 min to create a free PSN account. (Publisher-specific accounts being a minor pain but not unheard of) Also, HD2 is PS5 & Steam only. Big L for team green.
for the satellite part : when you use the console theres a prompt you can use to tell your teamate the direction the dish needs to be pointing... no microphone required
The "free and premium reward tracks" he mentions are both free -- done ONLY with medals you earn in game. One just costs more medals per item than the other - but also has less items in it. He makes it sounds like one costs real money and the other doesn't.
by the way, when adjusting the satellite you can hear a sound when you enter the zone you are suppose to be in to know that you are in the proper zone. Then you can run back to the station and press the button.

my biggest gripe is u cant JUMP sick of getting stuck on stuff that's 1 foot tall & starship trooper let u have a jetpack & jump so if the goal is to sell jetpacks its not working
One clear and (hilarious) advent of a game master was the inclusion of a free rail gun modifier on the 2nd day release, when everyone progressed enough to encounter chargers but didnt have the equipment and knowledge to deal with them.
I didsagree about the currency. I dont think there are too many, i like there are different types its keeps the game interesting and you can have multiple things to grind rather than just one.
Its fantastic and its also a great example of why its good to leave last gen behind. This is on ps5 and pc. If it was on ps4 it would serve as the pace car holding the game back with a limit on how many enemies can appear on screen and stuff. This game not only looks fantastic graphically but the sheer scale of it all later with tons of enemies on screen, explosions going off everywhere, lasers and missiles flying overhead and all holding a solid fps throughout. Its great stuff.
The satellite dish makes a sound when it’s in the correct setting. You can also just look at where the satellite has to be,run to the satellite yourself and set it in the correct direction
Clever title. Thanks for mentioning Helldivers 1, which was a game with basically the exact same features but top-down and no live service. I think it's good journalism to mention that, because I find it a little bit controversial. I feel like I kind of deserve a discount for owning the first game.
you can actually ping and say what cardenal direction the satelite direction needs to go to when at the terminal but i did get this thing were i could only ping it once kind of annoying if someone misses it
Well, aligning the satellite dish doesn´t require communications because there will be a audio signal when its in the correct position Btw there are 12 bug and 18 robot enemy variants
the great graphics, steady progression, and hilarious tone definitely make this game what it is. I hope more games can feel empowered to straddle that line of seriously engaging with lighthearted banter (spoiler: its what made fable great too.)
Downloaded this tonight on steam, waited 1 and a half hours and couldn't log into the server due to it being full. It looks like a fun game if you could actually play it.
The satellite objective literally has a loud ping go off when you get it into position... it's made to easily be done solo. All objectives are. The only thing that isn't is the door that requires 2 people.

Any other game does that they get crucified. What makes this one different?
@@TheGamingRapper how many hours have you played Helldivers 2 for?
If you press Q while on the satellite monitor, your character has a voiceline saying which direction the satellite should point into.
Cadets, stop watching and go buy the game. We need you on the battlefield, let’s spread some DEMOCRACY!!!
The respawns are just another resource. As long as you make it out in the end, it was all worth it!
Crazy how this game wasn’t on many people’s radar, looks like Playstaion knew what they were doing.
"Play time: 10 hours" stops video. Not enough time hahahaha
Clever title.
Thanks for mentioning Helldivers 1, which was a game with basically the exact same features but top-down and no live service. I think it's good journalism to mention that, because I find it a little bit controversial. I feel like I kind of deserve a discount for owning the first game.
You can play a surprising amount of missions in near full stealth too
This is so fun, hilarious, intense, and gets you stressed out at the same time.
you can actually ping and say what cardenal direction the satelite direction needs to go to when at the terminal but i did get this thing were i could only ping it once kind of annoying if someone misses it
10 hours lol. Rookie numbers!
Let’s get people with 50 hours already.
Gameplay loop is the most important thing and this game nails it
Well, aligning the satellite dish doesn´t require communications because there will be a audio signal when its in the correct position
Btw there are 12 bug and 18 robot enemy variants
Turrets never mistakenly target you or your teammates, they just happen to be in the line of fire aimed at an enemy
the great graphics, steady progression, and hilarious tone definitely make this game what it is. I hope more games can feel empowered to straddle that line of seriously engaging with lighthearted banter (spoiler: its what made fable great too.)
This game is so addictive. I love it.
When it comes to friendly fire, some people manage democracy better than others.
The satellite dish makes a sound when you get it in the right position
6:39 Wait...How do you open that radial menu on PS5? Does anyone know? 🤔
R1
@@lozovac But...that's the tag button. I need to hold R1, is that it?
Hold r1, or is it l1
There is a sound effect the terminals make when you get the dish into the right spot
Can't wait to play that game
Couldn't expect less from the team that made Magicka and Magicka 2, these games are comedy gold and uncapped fun.
I'm doing my part! Would you like to know more?
When your doing the satellite just mark at north east west or south a couple times for them to get it
This game is a win-win. You either pull the mission off and feel like a badass or you fail miserably and it usually ends up being hilarious
For Super Earth!
Them keeping all the rewards from past tracks probably just sold me.
I have been playing this game in two groups with the boys and I can say, this is one of the best games that will release this year!
Most fun I've had in such a long time!!
Now imagine how bad this game would have done commercially if it was priced at 60 or 70 usd. I absoloutely love this game and would never have considered giving it a chance if i was priced anything above 40usd
The satellite dish plays a noise when it's in the right position, you don't need to communicate with someone to do it. I solo it all the time.
“Not many defensive options for stratagems” ??? *Motions aggressively towards personal shield generator
Seriously. This stratagem SAVES LIVES. It’s so good
