About disgust: well that raises a question. Does this affect rape? Like is this why in some scenarios people can "handle" rap? Meaning, in the moment, they only cry, instead of vomiting? Or is that because of a fight or flight response?
Am I the only guy who finds some women repulsive enough that I'd never sleep with them? I feel like the idea that most men will sleep with anyone is a bit of a myth. We definitely do have a much lower threshold than women do, though.

Chris, the difference between an "Escort" and a "Prostitute" is merely the laws of the country in which they operate in. For example in Ireland, where Prostitution is illegal women of course can't put up ads for sex, it's against the law afterall! However, if you were to pay for a girl to join you for dinner as an Escort, and it just so happened that you hit it off and the night ended up with sex (completely unrealted to the money, you understand), well then who is the law to tell people who they can and can't be attracted to and have sex with?
No. We have both prostitutes and escorts in the US. Escorts are more high-end, self-regulating, & more like a talent agency than a pimp situation. An escort is more like a girlfriend experience than a wham-bam-thank you- ma'am.

Some men do pay attractive, intelligent women to go out with them to events, work dinners etc so they look impressive to peers or clients, with no intention of having sex with them too.
Even as a 33 yr guy that's been single for 16 yrs now I would never pay for those kinds of encounters in fact I'd rather be single instead because as a matter of principal I would never consider those types of services other than though the reason I've leaned more towards going solo and staying single is because I'm also of mixed raced White & East Asian descent here In Mass, U.S. and because I'm mixed I generally can't judge which types of women are attracted to me and which ones are way out of my league it's always been a great unknown for me and it makes me more shy than usual, also I'm worried about the racial prejudice women and their parents and friends would have for me if they found out their daughter or friend was with someone of my kind so from those concerns alone I've gravitated toward staying single, and such I don't expect to marry or have kids either.

To be fair, she doesn't really chase after "chads" or whatever. She likes extremely outgoing, goofy, (typically) asian men. But she herself is such a socially stunted wallflower that those sorts of guys don't pay any attention to her. It doesn't help that, while she's not in bad shape or anything, she doesn't do anything to try and accentuate her looks at all.
She doesn't do any make-up. Her clothes make her look like she's a Mennonite. She's had the same zero effort hair-cut for years now which rests flatly on her head and makes her look like she has a huge forehead. And she just won't do anything to change all of these things.
She'll find some guy she's interested in, do her best to approach him, then when things don't work out she'll say "I just need to take some time to work on myself!" while not actually working to change anything about herself.
She's not malicious or anything at all. She just doesn't get it and doesn't seem to want to put in the work for anything. She is a legit 32 year old kissless virgin. And I don't see that changing anytime soon....

I guess I'm a weird guy: I never had sex outside established relationships and I never cheated on a partner. Until my late 20s I used to call myself a "serial monogamist" (only one of my relationships lasted less than 6 months). For me, it was always a matter of respect for the relationship and the other's feelings. I had my heart broken a couple of times and I broke a few too. In all cases, I never had to feel any shame for what I did. Sadness, sure. Shame, no. Happily married for many years now to an amazing woman. As with any other interpersonal relationship: don't do or behave in ways you don't want others to behave with you.
That's nice to hear Luke, I am currently 18 and I was close to being in a relationship once but it didn't work out, I almost went against my personal values and tried to change the way I thought about women and wanted to treat them badly because I thought that was the kind of guy that women would like. I am glad to say I recovered from that quick and I am back to my self, I still don't have a partner, but I am hopeful that it'll happen in the future.

@@lawsen3719 I’m also 18. I read a book called “Letting Go: The Pathway To Surrender” by Brian Hawkings in which there is a chapter that focuses on relationships. An idea that really resonated with me was letting go of the desire for a relationship, because desire is a mechanism that prevents you from getting what you want. To desire something suggests that there is a lack of that thing in your life. This way of thinking often breeds desperation and neediness, something that repells what we want from us. I say this to say that by letting go of what you don’t currently have and something that is not in your control (e.g: finding a romantic partner) you will develop internal peace and abundance, which will help you to obtain what you really want. Ironically, letting go is the best mechanism to getting what we want
@@younga.k9145 I gotta read that book sometime, and I agree with what you said. Back when I was 15-16, I was really desperate for a relationship and that put in a horrible mental space, but after letting go of that desire and instead focusing on my own growth, I changed a lot for the better.

I'm working 13 hours a day now Monday to Sunday plus 2 hours of physical training at the boxing academy daily. Get home eat, shower, and sleep. The harder I work the less I get to think about life. Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. I could easily have a relationship and sex if I were willing to lower my standards and date obese women, but I'd rather stay single than do that because obese women are disgusting to me. Any time I meet a girl who's nice and not obese, she's always already in a relationship. I imagine women have a similar experience because it's just people in general these days are very overweight. Like, when I go to the grocery store most of the couples I see are either skinny women with fat men, skinny men with fat women, or fat women with fat men. In answer to the title of the video, “Are there female incels?”: yes. Of course there are.
In answer to the opening question of the video, “Would you say women who can’t find a mate *they are attracted to* are a kind of incel?“: no. Because in that case, it’s no longer involuntary; they just don’t want to pick their available options.
There’s a difference between starving and being a picky eater.
It sounds like you should have listened to the rest of the vid before you replied to the opening question.
The term femcel implies it's the female equiverlent of incel. But it's not. The only femcel that will exist is one that doesn't try to get a mate, which is a choice. It's the trying and being rejected that makes an incel and incel.
The exception is probably the morbidly obese and mentally disabled.....but I don't think they would think of themselves in that way.
The problem is when the options make you throw up, it is involuntary. You may be starving, but if your only option is to eat something repulsive, it’s not a realistic option.

This clip is heavily flawed, and is fixated on the idea of sex. A femcel could still easily find someone of the opposite sex to be friends with and try to emotionally bond with. She could tell him sex will never be an option and she would still find guys to bond with. That is a huge boost to self-esteem. While a male incel can't even get a friendship with a woman started. Women are quick to call a guy creepy, and women are the 'desired ones' so they have full control if a friendship or relationship can get started. Femcels have it a lot better than Incels.
The amount of complaining I see from men re: getting friendzoned shows that this is probably incorrect. Also guys don't generally befriend ugly girls with no social skills (attributes necessary for a woman to be a femcel) so I think the easiness aspect is really up for debate. And incels could just as easily make friends with other men to fulfill the need for social bonds and validation. Tbh idk who has it the worst though. Feeling unwanted seems like it would be pretty shitty for anyone.

If a guy is into fashion, pop music, etc. but is unattractive then he's unlikely to make friends with a girl. I’ve actually asked this question multiple times. Why does incel exist but there’s no word for the other? I always harken back to how men and women view not being approached by the opposite sex. If all the women don’t like the guy, he needs to fix to something. If all the men don’t like the woman, she’s doing something right.

But if men could have the choice (or the illusion of choice) between pizza, good meals everyday and a gourmet dinner maybe their perception and criteria would change. I never really thought of pig farming and prostitution being comparable. i worked as a cashier for a part time job whilst studying for a couple years and i would feel not only awkward but upset, extremely anxious, and unhealthily self conscious, all the time at work, at how detached i felt from the mannerisms and behaviours of almost all of the people around me (it gave me anxiety, on top of my normal social anxiety, to the point of having heart palpitations, bladder issues, etc, so i eventually quit as soon as my dad would allow it). since quitting that job i focused alot on myself during lockdowns and among other things drastically improved my health and appearance, but the feeling of social detachment on a level of lifestyle and manner of interacting remains.
the friendships i make are few but fierce, and usually its people somewhat older than me, and so far theyre either male, in a relationship, or lesbian, lol. women my age, that is 20, ive always found more difficult to connect with bc so many are much more emotionally oriented, and me being me, while im not short of emotions or sympathy, im terrible with social cues, so i tend to piss off the more emotionally sensitive types very easily by accident. of course as someone that abstains from drinking and hates clubbing and drugs and social media etc, the drinking/clubbing culture at university, and how addicted to social media and hedonistic habits, and how cynical towards the concept of family and more reserved lifestyles, everyone seems to be, makes it even more difficult to find the right people. my friends joke that i should try hooking up with the few christians that there are on campus, but they tend to be rather devout and sadly im agnostic.

I was going to say there is definitely a subgroup of "femcels" (though they would not call themselves that) in religious communities. They are women who were taught and raised to not only "save themselves" for marriage, but to have very high religious standards for the man they marry. Many desire marriage and family more than anything in the world, but cannot find men in their religion to marry them. In reality, most of the "good ones" are picked off pretty fast in these communities. There are many in the mormon community - mormons don't often date/marry outside their religion. It's honestly sad, and I think most would be better off dating outside their religion (but seeking men with similar values/life goals).

If we're talking about sex itself I agree with you about the female attitude toward it. However incels don't just go without sex, they go without any physical affection from the opposite sex whatsoever (hugs touches). This is something almost no women has to endure. And the female bar for acceptance is lower for these kinds of affection than it is for sex.
Society in general is touch deprived right now. And I don't know about the larger population, but I have encountered men who wanted to not touch, not kiss, not hug, not be affectionate in any way, but still wanted sex. It's sad.

I think a lot of the dating problems would be resolved if people were just honest with themselves in terms of what they can actually attract and actually be honest with their intentions and it was actually appreciated too of course. The issue is it doesn't pay to be honest. You see them in the comments a lot, they usually believe all men are evil bad people. They usually had a bad father or have been sexually assaulted or both, and think of themselves as too ugly to get laid. I feel bad for them. I think it stems more from a fear of men, rather than from the hatred of women with incels.

Well one thing for sure is that I highly doubt there will ever be a female version of Elliot Rodger or George Sodini, as in, it doesn't seem possible or I just don't ever see a woman committing a massacre due to being angry and upset because she doesn't have a boyfriend or is unable to get a boyfriend.
But there have been numerous incidents like that from a male perpetrator in history, Elliot Rodger and George Sodini being examples.

The problem with the term "Incels" or "involuntary celibates" is that it's a misnomer. Not just women can get sex whenever they like, anyone can go to a sex worker. The problem isn't people who can't lose their virginity, and it's not even being capable of forming a relationship. When we use the term 'incel' we're always talking about someone who has actually become spiteful from being rejected by whoever they're interested in and have rejected an entire group on those grounds. As Douglas Murray pointed out the statistical likelihood of a gay teenager getting rejected badly by their first crush at school is very high. And there are a lot of lesbians claiming to be feminists who get misdiagnosed as man-haters, who they hate is straight women (like their highschool crush, that bitch! Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned). You'll always see them in feminist circles giving straight women deliberately bad life advice and trying to convince them men are a bunch of oppressive rapists in the hope they might turn to lesbianism.
Incel usually refers to somebody (usually a guy), that can't get sex naturally without paying for it. Obviously, anybody can just pay for it, but that's not the point of the discussion when talking about incels and getting sex.

It depends on the parameters of the question. If we’re talking about a girl’s ability to get any kind of sex with just some random guy, then yea, it’s the most accessible thing imaginable. If you’re a girl and think you literally can’t find a guy to willingly bang you, then you’re just lying to yourself. Now, if the girl is saying they can’t find a guy to have “good sex,” whatever that entails, then sure, obviously that’s going to be harder to find, but I’d say that stems borderline entirely from a shift in the culture of dating and marriage due to feminism.

In all this discussion in the video and comments I've never seen lesbians brought up. i have a close friend who is a lesbian and an incel, she cant find anyone to have sex with let alone be in a relationship with (shes very shy, introverted, insecure, and struggles with social media and lives in a small village), and ofc the people she is trying to hook up with are women, and not only are women way more picky, but ofc lesbian women are much rarer than straight women too. so yes female incels do exist.
This seems extremely odd why this would be the case! The disgust mechanism is there to prevent women giving birth to children of LOW quality men! Lesbians are generally not concerned with giving birth. One would think as it pertains to women, that the disgust mechanism would be set to a far lower threshold.
