Hearing you say only "Stay Mobile, my friends" tells me that there truly is a light at the end of this years-long stress tunnel, and we're slowly but surely getting there
@@TheMrMobile Hello Michael, I've seen a ton of smartwatch reviews from you and every model seems very faulty... Is there any single one you could buy without taking on too much compromise? Could it spur a video of best smartwatches in 2021?
i was so intrigued until i heard the downsides also that old special huawei watch was beautiful why would they scrap that design, i hate that samsung seems to be the only watch to buy today all other watches are better looking but they always come with downsides that samsung doesn't have, it's like they have a monopoly on smartwatches, i'd love a fossil watch gen 5 lte but the only lte version isn't as good looking as the main gen 5
That’s how I feel about Apple Watches. They look ugly as hell, and have rubbish battery life. To be honest I’ve had the Samsung watch, Apple Watch, a Fossil and Garmin, and my Huawei GT2 has been the best one so far. I only have to charge it every other week, and notifications, step count and a nice OLED screen is really all I need. All the other stuff was clutter that made me have to charge every day, or with my Garmin that came with a Gameboy color screen, and was just clunky to use.
@@sloppynyuszi You clearly weren't using the Garmin for its intend purpose. They are fitness watches first and foremost and at among the best in the industry at it. Everything is geared towards that, from how the metrics are measured to the display being optimised for readability in all conditions. The same applies to the likes of Polar and Suunto. If health tracking is important to you, then Samsung, Huawei, AmazBit, etc. are terrible choices. Their fitness tracking is wrong. Of the smartwatches, only Apple comes close to having decent accuracy.
So sad that people who travel in China cannot use Google, Twitter, Facebook, Netflix services etc because it was banned there. Good services. Such a sad opportunity.
Yeah but to my surprise...the scrolling on the ui seems pretty flawless. It's unexpectedly smooth for a Android smartwatch. Even samsung's isn't this smooth. I didn't one hiccup in the entire video. Plus the ui isn't even ugly. If they solve the bugs I'll most probably get it!
I just bought this watch yesterday, i could not resist its beauty and fluidness. I have faith in huawei, despite of the sanctions huawei is still selling their phones although everybody predicted them to go out of business. Their devices have always been snappy (even their budget ones, they know how to make it efficient), which is not the case for the rest of the manufactures. By the time the new WearOs is announced, i hope it would be fully implemented with google alternatives.
For what it's worth, Alex Dobie at Android Central got 5 days. Main difference seems to be turning the Always-On Display off, which I refuse to do: www.androidcentral.com/huawei-watch-3-review
I have a Gt2 and use always on display, putting the watch to charge during my morning routine is enough for a full day use, it uses only 10% of battery per day that needs only a 10 minute charge.
2:31 you said you prefer the list view on the apps compared to Apple but you can change it on the Apple Watch too FYI you can make it a list view if you long press
With the Galaxy Watch 4 out now, this thing is toast. The new OS has a lot of improvements. But the bigger problem for this (and most) smartwatches is the phrase "If you can wait". With a smartwatch, when can you *not* wait? They're not necessities. They're luxury items. So the only watches worth buying either a) already do everything you want them to do -- perfectly, or b) are the very latest and greatest, with the price to match.
Wow this thing looks amazing. If the newer wearOS watches can match this (for less I hope) then they'll be excellent options. The software is fluid & good looking, the screen is bright, and the design is gorgeous I kinda want one, even with its lack of US support.
Michael, where is next episode of When phones were fun? This is the best series by any tech reviewer & i follow it desperately, one of its kind! Keep it up. We are always in your support 🤘👍

I doubt there will be a better review on this watch. Great review, but I haven't the issues you experienced with my Huawei GT2 Pro...maybe because I installed the latest updates. Huawei watches like their watch faces are ART, it's just a question of time before the lead the pack.
You had me interested until you didn’t know that the Apple Watch also had list view for the apps. Love the channel, but if you’re gonna compare and contrast at least get it right
Michael I already own a Fenix 6x pro a Huawei gt 2 pro and as an iPhone user an apple Watch 6 . Ordered the GT 3 titanium Edition here’s named Elite. Thank you for the review 👍✌️
Interesting to see that they didn’t make watches for years in a row if the first version came out in 2015. This device seems quite good, so seems it was really a good call to go for the best quality. Also, I hope you know you can put the apps in a list view on Apple Watch.
Only HarmonyOS for Phones and Tablets are based on Android. All other HarmonyOS Versions are based on lighter lightkernel which is inspired by Linux but more modular for better performance, isn't?
The design of this watch is excellent, I do wish there were some less shiny options for smartwatches but I know antiglare is difficult even for glasses, letalone the screens of electronics. Another excellent and well produced review
I stopped using mine earlier this year because it's just too slow and the face had burnt into the screen. It's a beautiful watch though, but I'm staying with a mechanical one for the next few years I think.
Hi, would like to ask how's the battery life if compatibility between Huawei watch 3 pro with iOS phones? As the Huawei official page stated that: a) The smart mode in typical scenarios - The Watch 3 Pro gives around 5 days of battery backup when connected to an Android device and 2.5 days back up with iOS. b)Ultra-long battery life mode - It provides 21 days battery backup when the watch when connected to iOS and Android.
