    Great setup! I recently got a P1000 and I’m excited to see what satellite objects I can capture. Thanks so much and God bless you!

      Sounds great. My P1000 is currently being repaired because I dropped it and cracked it open but when I get it back I intend to do some Milky Way Timelapse’s. All the best!

    This was a very interesting little video on your setup that I enjoyed. I also don't like the fact that when using the HDMI, it prevents both the Wi-fi and bluetooth features from being used. I wish Nikon wouldn't have done that. I hope they can fix that issue in a firmware update. In addition, I wish Nikon would have made a physical zoom ring for zooming. Those are my 3 bones to pick about the Nikon P1000. I love it and enjoy using it. Good video!

      Thanks for your comment. I tried contacting Nikon about the WiFi/HDMI issue but got no response. It is very annoying but just one of those things. I agree with all of your gripes but apart from that it is perfect for what I need it for and like you I love it. I've get video/shots nobody else can get (unless they have a P1000) which is a real bonus. I haven't used my Nikon D810 for ages now and will probably end up selling it. I only really shoot video these days and take photos for social media so it's perfect for that purpose. It would be great if we could get 4k 60p though. Cheers, JV.

      @@jvstechtips I hear ya loud and clear JV. I was kinda surprise when you indicated that you like using the Nikon P1000 over the Nikon D810, but I understand that your main use is for video, so I understand. A physical zoom ring would have been stellar too. That way, I could use a focus/zoom motor to zoom in and out remotely on a gimbal or a pan/tilt system. Nice talking with you JV. Long live the Nikon P1000.🙂

    What is that piece of foam under the lens for? to try to absorb the shakes when you shoot at super tele range? Homey don't think that would do it.

    Hello from Norway 🇳🇴
    This looked really good. I'm also in the process of switching to a Nikon P1000. May I ask you something? Is it okay to use a power bank while filming, or do I need an adapter and such? There are only old videos on RUclips about the P1000 and power banks.

    • @jvstechtips
      @jvstechtips  5 месяцев назад +1

      Hi, i've never used a power bank. I have three batteries that seem to last forever. I have the official Nikon battery that came with the camera and I have also bought two additional Neewer batteries which are really good as well. Cheers.

    The Nikon Coolpix p4000 compact camera is being developed and features a 200x optical zoom, This time it's not a camera bridge, but a compact camera that will also feature a superzoom lens. It looks like it will be called Nikon Coolpix P4000 and will feature a 200x optical zoom, offering a 35mm focal length equivalent to 4800mm at the telephoto

      Do you realise it's 2024 already?
      2015 rumours should be left in 2015. Wouldn't you agree?
      If you can't past 2015, just enjoy the P900.

    • @jvstechtips
      @jvstechtips  5 месяцев назад +2

      Yes, that’s an old rumour. I think the P1000 came out instead of the P4000. Nikon have just bought RED so they are probably gonna be more focussed on bringing out high end cine cameras now.

    Hello ! Great setup, I'd like to ask you a question about the external microphone:
    I use a cheap BOYA microphone and it always has this background hissing noise.
    However, I have found that the sound is there even when there is no microphone attached to the other end of the cable.
    Furthermore, the microphone itself works perfectly with my phone and my tablet... without any noises.
    What's the case with yours ?

    • @jvstechtips
      @jvstechtips  Год назад +2

      Hi, thanks for the comment. I’ve never had such problems with my Rode mic. For the money it’s an excellent piece of kit. I use it with my P1000, D810 and iPhone 11 and it always captures excellent sound. Because I film by the sea a lot there is always wind noise which is my main gripe but because the mic captures decent sound I can always edit it out in Premiere Pro. Cheers

    Hello JV, it is very interesting video. Look, I have P1000 from the first day of selling it in Europe🙂 I like taking pictures and making films with P1000. I see that the limitation of P1000 is trembling at close maximun focal length (not thermal distorsion). I have stable tripod and not bad Benro S8Pro head I still suffer from the not stability of the filmed objects. What I introduced in my setup is that Nikon is additionally propped up as well as I'm filming without any image stabilisation as it gives better results. The problem that I signal is perfectly visible at 4min36 sec on the film. Pls see my films. I will be grateful for any hint.

    Nice setup. Just a question on the monitor... I tried going the cheap route and using an android phone with cables, adapters & converters, it didn't work. So am looking at a dedicated monitor like yours now. Is it purely for visual, ie I can still use my camera features to zoom & adjust settings? Regards

    • @jvstechtips
      @jvstechtips  Год назад

      Hi. Yes, the monitor is purely for visual I.e whatever you would see on your built in monitor you see on the external monitor. Only problem is the remote control doesn’t seem to work when this monitor is plugged in. Might not be the same for other monitors. It’s incredibly useful to get a larger view of what you are filming plus you can mount it wherever you like. Cheers

  • @-19510
    @-19510 Год назад

    This is just a guess, but could the remote not be working if the monitor on the camera isn't open, therefore inactive?

    • @jvstechtips
      @jvstechtips  Год назад

      Thanks for your comment. Yes I’ve tried that and it definitely doesn’t work either way. The remote won’t work when my external monitor is connected but works fine when the monitor isn’t connected. It might just be this particular monitor.

    • @jvstechtips
      @jvstechtips  Год назад +2

      Thanks for your comment. I think it depends on what you want to use the camera for. The P1000 is the best superzoom camera out there and it has the longest reach. I bought it because of the ability to get shots that most people won't be able to get. I shoot a lot of wildlife videos and there is no way i could get the shots I get with any other camera. The P1000 is not a pro camera though. I use it purely for RUclips videos and social media photos. Cheers. JV

      Sadly cameras (other than DSLR) are pretty much dead. It's unlikely that we will ever see successor to P1000. The last bridge camera from any manufacturer is Nikon P950, released 3.5 years ago. Any new non-DSLR cameras are quite rare. You can see them in dpreview camera feature search.
