- Where to live in Fort Myers Florida. Moving to Florida, just like anywhere else has a lot of questions to be answered. We will be tackling the one regarding where to live when moving to this part of Florida. Iona, McGregor, Whiskey Creek, Gateway and Tree line are some of the most desired areas in Fort Myers in which to live. Your reasons to live there may vary, but they usually have much to do with your lifestyle. Typical tourist attitude. Comes to florida every year but "hates" it here. Maybe you should stink it up in whatever crappy state you live on next year instead of coming here.

Moving in year or less from up North. How has it been?
My wife and I are retired and thinking 5-7 months living in Cape Coral would be great we have some hurdles to get over but maybe it will happen....I will keep watching your videos thanks for the info ....
My opinion, Cape Coral has some great places , to eat and fish. But the drinking water will cost you more than electric. Depending on your budget, Suncoast estates is the biggest mobile home in the world, we think. 1600 lots, 1.25 acre and 2.50 acres in North Ft. Myers. Only 5 minutes from downtown Ft. Myers.

If you are a working person without any money I would not come here. When the music stops Florida gets hammered. Last in first out

what's your honest thoughts on neighborhood in Maravilla ? for owner occupied rental properties? Is that pretty bad ? I don't need lot of activities or other fancy things but care about safe, clean crime free convenient neighborhoods? My eventual plan is to move somewhere else after establishing this property a secondary property
I think it depends on which side of 41 you’re looking at. I live not too far from maravilla on Winkler west of 41 east of mcgregor. GREAT 👍 neighborhood! Well established area meaning that almost all homes are circa 50’s 60’a and 1970’s. Mature landscapes and sidewalks lining both sides of the streets. Your not going to find many new home builds however if mid century modern is your thing you will be heaven. For amenities you are super close to the Fort Myers country club and golf course ( public) Jefferson park and there’s even a community pool with tennis courts right next door. Prices are reasonable and crime is not really a big concern. So it’s fairly safe. Location is excellent for shopping restaurants and the downtown river district being just minutes away as well as beaches only around a 20/25 minute drive away. We recently relocated from Naples park and we couldn’t be happier with our decision.

We might be coming there from Arkansas for my husband to work a nursing contract. We have 3 kids and would have to rent in a good neighborhood and be close to beaches, it would be only for a minimum of 3 months, max 6 months.

Increasing for sure.... already 1500+ almost everywhere.... soon 2000+ per month. Many other areas already seeing it.

Yes, there are a number of condo buildings right in the river. Single family there as well, but pricing can be a bit higher. Let me know if I can help. Thank you for commenting.

What’s the best area if you can’t live on Sanibel?
Most areas of Naples, Estero and Bonita Springs are nice areas. There are also a lot of nice unincorporated master planned communities like Gateway.

Sadly, Fort Myers has recently become an example of the ravages of anthropogenic climate change. Hurricanes like Ian are becoming more frequent. Add to that the rising sea levels, and Florida coasts will become increasingly hazardous. Best of luck to everyone who have suffered so much in the Fort Myers area.
