- Moving to Fort Myers Florida... our story. We are originally from the midwest... Indiana in fact. We moved to Fort Myers Florida for many reasons and some would be the obvious ones. The weather? Yes... the winters are much more tolerable in southwest Florida! But, like most people the weather wasn't the only reason we moved to Fort Myers. Florida has many cool places to live and we considered several but tell you why we ended up deciding on Fort Myers in the end. I relocated from the NorthEast in New Jersey and man the weather is better here then anywhere else in the United States all year! My story follows around the same path i came here or the East Coast of Florida every year twice and sometimes 3 times a year so when i was ready and back from being over seas working as a military contractor i chose to come here and boy did i pick the right time and the right spot cause now a place i bought for 180k seven years ago and a condo for 90k now are worth 640k and 260k so weve been thinking of selling and buying another house! I hope all has been good for you guys since Ian nailed us too!

Hello from Hendricks county Indiana. I can’t wait to leave here😂
One thing I have noticed is the huge influx of ppl, traffic and crime. We have been here 12 years. It has changed immensely, Now it is expensive, Our home has gone up 104% since buying. I drove yesterday (Sunday). Traffic was maddening. I wish the infrastructure was here to accommodate all the new ppl. Roads weren't designed for this load. Oh well, we'll deal with it.

Had the time of my life on Fort Myers beach on vacation
Love fort Myers. My parents relocated there years ago when I was a kid. Two of my daughters where born in fort Myers and I still have family in fort Myers. Living in ct with wife and dog planning to try and be a snow bird for a few yrs so I plan on spending six months a yr down south looking to go back to fort Myers so I really appreciate the videos any information can help. Is there a country side to fort meyers like 15 minute drive to hunting spots, fishing and woods, state forests?
Curious...What is the housing comparison between buying in Tea South Dakota versus Ft Myers? Also is Ft Myers family friendly? What are the schools like mainly high schools?

Nice video. We’re taking care of my older brother who has stage four cancer and is now on hospice. We will have a very difficult time continuing to live in our home after he passes away.
Would you consider Fort Myers to be a place where a person can purchase a new house in the $350,000 range?
Hello I currently live in the lower Keys and I’ve been thinking about moving to Fort Myers. My partner lives in New Mexico and she is also a real estate agent with her Florida license. Obviously up there there’s a much better market then down here in the keys and that’s why we are thinking about relocating there. with the higher interest rates and it appears that they are going to continue going up during this administration do you feel that the market is going to slow down?
We moved here about 9 months ago. Now we are totally broke, both my wife and I full time jobs, it's crazy. I hope 🤞 you guys do well.

is it more expensive than California? prices here in Cali are insane. the house prices, gas prices, grocery prices, etc in Florida seem to be much better than here
@@marilyn.harlow No. Definitely not. But the wages here are horrible. Inflation hit Florida, but wages stayed the same.

Cuz down here in Fort Myers Florida 239 area is more property and can buy for yourself and you can also invest in it

Just went to prospect the area a couple weeks ago, and I wished the realtors here on YT that talk about this area were more objective in their review. There is no question there are some nice areas and beaches, but there is also some rather sketchy parts in Fort Myers with a lot of Central America and Mexico migrants jaywalking around, mean-mugging you like you don't belong there, etc., like a 'mini Mexico' is the only way I can describe it. And I know because I have lived in that part of the world.
Outside of Fort Myers it's predominantly rural living, lots of the properties there looked like junkyards, and most of the properties being built/for sale right now are not hooked up to municipal services, mostly well and septic, no sidewalks, street lighting, etc. Unless you live in an HOA or gated community/buy in a high-dollar ritzy area, that's what you can actually expect from this place...
East ft. Myers has been little Mexico since the 90s. Houses built after 94 are much more hurricane resistant. Naples is pricier for housing than Lee County.

Why is the water so green??
Green water indicates algae. Rain washes fertilizer from the lawns into the canals and eventually into the gulf which feeds the algae.

Too busy and too much crime for my taste. I'm a little north in what I call a flyover county. In 2003 I bought a condo in Punta Gorda Isles and sold it when I bought my home in 2014 in Charlotte county. Good luck & enjoy.
