I love sewing, it's my means of expression, and I like to wear whimsical or cool clothes. You really looked like a happy princess during the footage, a proud and strong individual who fights for the sake of creativity and respect.
Tyler has so many iconic dresses, I didn't think she had a dream dress that she was yet to obtain. I may be a newbie, but I have already given up on the idea of ever pinpointing, let alone obtaining, my own dream dress. With my baby level finances, lack of access and knowledge, and proportions, I can't help but think that beggars can't be choosers in this case. But hearing that it took Tyler 10 years to obtain her dream dress, seeing the absolute joy she's experiencing finally having it in her collection is so encouraging.
I really appreciate seeing you actually in the dress at the end. There are some things you can't appreciate by seeing the dress just on a hanger. I wish you did that more often! Or you could include still images like you do for LWLN.

Congratulations times a thousand. This dress and the fawn one you are wearing were what made me admire AP so much. They are on my grail list. Raising 3 teen daughters meant no funds for dresses or dolls (I am a doll collector, repair and artist) I do remember those days well and is how I got into Japanese mooks and sewing my own, some actually being AP patterns or styles but definitely other fabric.

This was also a dream dress of mine (I saw it in AP SF back in the day!!) and I was able to find Vanilla chan in the tiered cut in pink in really good condition a couple years ago but now I’m in an eternal search for the headbow oh my god does it irk me to no end. Soak anything stained in water with a splash of vinegar. Golden grandma tip, my whites have never been whiter. And it gets SOFT. No smell no stain you golden.
I got mine today but I got the whimsical vanilla chan without the shirring and it luckily has no stains just needs ironing or something really nervous to do it as I love it so much really happy for you Tyler 😊
I literally JUST got Whimsical Vanilla Chan 2 days ago..... and I too settled for a stained JSK. Luckily the stains where very small and not very obvious... Taking the bow apart and reconstructing it was a really good idea though!!
