    I would say you should do a 1x1 next, but the mechanism is so complicated that i completely understand if it isnt possible.

      It's common practice to use a heat gun or lighter/torch to smooth and clean up the stringy plastic that shows up on 3D prints. That's my guess

    I think you can 3d print some really cool shape mods for the cubes, because you can make them different shapes and use a normal mecanism inside of it

    Can the weight of a 3x3 be lowered if you used a mini 3x3 as a base?
    Maybe you could collaborate with someone to design custom pieces for the tiny core so you don't have to modify the pieces of the mini 3x3 or glue the pieces onto it

    All I'll say is that _I think_ you should probably use model kit cement (it's what holds model kits together, and it bonds better than super glue)

    A standard 2x2s core is basically just like a 3x3s core but smaller edge pieces with no color and with way larger corner pieces
