    The underwater shots were wonderful. It looks like the water is between 4’ and 5’ deep, and some areas looked like they were about 2’ deep. Regardless, it looked amazing.

    So many rules now. I remember taking a high school group there in 2002, and you could go right down to the beach. If I recall, the fee was very low as well. How times have changed. 😑

    Aloha Luke, Cheryl, & Austin. Mahalo for sharing your day at Hanauma Bay. Reminiscing of days swimming and snorkeling, wow time has flown by. It’s been almost 40 years….it has changed so much since then! No had to pay, no tram, no shops back in da day… just walk on down to the beach, have fun with da ohana, and at the end of the day push the stroller with keikis back up the walkway to da car. Looking down the bay, 😀 🏖️🏝🌴🐠🐟😊 waiting till our next beach day at the bay😎 mahalo for bringing back fond memories of Hanauma Bay.🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

    Thank you you posting this. My husband was born and raised in Honolulu and this is not the way he remembered it growing up. We will be looking to other places to snorkel as this turned too commercial. Loved you video

      Unfortunately that is what much of Hawaii has become. I remember coming here in the 80's and it was free.

    As a “tourist” and lucky enough to get tickets , was it worth it NAH…. First of all , there is no public transportation to get there , you have to hire a car or get an Uber. More cost on top of the tickets. You have to be online at 7am when the web site opens to get tickets. Then choose a time slot. You can only book up to 2 days in advance and the bay is not open on Monday’s and Tuesday’s. For two tourists and car hire for the day = $150 USD. Then there is snorkel hire if you don’t have your own. There is also locker hire for your valuables. Was the snorkelling that great Nah, depends what the tide is doing.
    For a cheaper and better day out without tickets for a tourist, get on a bus $3 dollars each way and go to Lanikai Beach 🏖. It’s an easy 1 hour 30min ride from Waikiki and it’s a beautiful beach ! Snorkelling is great , take a lunch or get some Zippys in Kailua before taking the 671 bus to the beach 🤙

      Its really hard it you dont have a car and the cost if youre not local omg. I think theres a Waikiki trolley that will take you there.

    Question! Towards the beginning when the lady asked the last time you were there - if you've visited in less than a year, does that mean you don't need to go through the orientation process? We're going back in September and we were there early January this year! Mahalo!

    • @PhotoLukeHawaii
      @PhotoLukeHawaii  2 месяца назад +1

      I’m not completely sure how it is now but before if you knew you would or might be coming back within a year after you watch the video there was a clip board for you to add your name to. Then the next time you visited within the year yoi just show them your ID and they would let you go in without watching the video again. They may have changed it recently to have to watch everytime. Sorry
