WERA Formula 2 Novice @ Pitt Race 6/17/18 - Suzuki SV650

Formula 2 Novice. I got a decent start, and battled it out with Liam (on the FZ-07R) for the entire race.. dropped my times into the 55's. Took first in class, 4th or 5th overall.. I forget. Although the camera might not show it, Liam was there in almost every turn and every straight until the end of the race. Great battle with him.

Good riding Ryan! I noticed you were coming in pretty hot into turn 17. It doesn't sound like you're on the gas at all till you hit the apex of 18. Are you able to carry that much momentum and retain grip without powering the rear till you hit the apex? I always braked heavily and then slightly rolled on the gas to provide traction. However, I was on a 600CC so that may be a different story. Got me stoked to hoon again!

Yep! I try to trail brake deep into 17 so I can get the bike pointed more up track before getting on the throttle. If I let off too early and got on the throttle, it would bring me significantly wider for 18 and I would have to roll on/maintain throttle until the bike was turned and then get back to wide open throttle, as opposed to getting the bike turned quicker and getting to WOT sooner.
