Thanks Nicolas-Troyan. I thought he made very good use of this song in “Kate”. Showed what a true fan he is of Band-Maid also with all the details like MISA’s whiskey bottle on her amp and listing the ladies in the credits in the order that Band-Maid was formed. (And from another interview he apparently made Miku/Ani tie her shoes with Band-Maid shoelaces?) For those who came from “Kate”, don’t forget to check out Blooming (car chase scene) and basically every other song in Band-Maid’s 100+ song discography. There’s also a live version of Choose Me on their RUclips channel!
Misa was probably nervous to play while being a part in a *movie* without that whiskey bottle. She's said in numerous interviews that she's actually very shy, especially when talking to people or performing and drinks some whiskey prior to shows. I'm pretty sure this is Misa prior to starting shows or at dive bars: ruclips.net/video/E2GiUzQBkAs/видео.html
Japanese girl bands rule, and Band-Maid is the best of them all. They really combine cuteness with the ferocity and speed of punk and the heavy melody lines and solos of the best metal.
While this is an amazing song they have many others. You should definitely check out their live videos. Domination is probably the best intro song. Have fun!
Shit! I sure hope these girls book bigger venues for the next world tour, they're gonna need it!! Welcome aboard everybody! My name is Chuck and I'm a Band Maid addict!
I just clicked on one of their random videos. This is like the fourth or fifth one. Jesus christ, the amount of talent in one band. Was a fan on the first vid I watched.
I am 70 years old. I have to last another 30 years before my pension proves a good investment. So.......here I am frantically finding stuff I never heard of. Love these ladies.
First song I heard of them two weeks ago. I don't know how many videos and reactions I've watched since. I don't even like hard rock, never have. Jazz, Funk, Disco and Electronica are my big loves. But this band, this gorgeous band... I have such respect for their musicianship. At first glance I was like... wow are they actually really playing this sound? And that drummer! I used to play drums myself. I've never seen anyone play like that. Graceful AND powerful + technically intriguing and very clean. Nah, probably not. Has to be producer-music, right? Checked two more videos and was just as intrigued. Ok, let's see if they have live performances on here somewhere. Well you can imagine what happened then. I watched Freedom, the live version... Tears of joy! What a band...! They sound even better live! And they look like a group of friends having a blast playing and upending every stereotype of hard rock you can image while doing it. Toying with it, improving it. Akane's solo where she just lets loose, enters total bliss but remains in full control of every single beat. I repeat, I have never seen anyone play like this. That amazing transition. Then Kanami's solo who plays a damn sophisticated solo, equally with absolute ease. Misa's fascinating style of straight-ahead pick playing but adding so many musically interesting flourishes. Saiki and Miku's on point vocals, backing and wonderful presence. And what a fun song! I instantly turned into their newest fan. Started watching interviews, learned about Kobato-san (which explains everything) and how she formed the group. Learning about their personalities and their quirks, fascinated by this cool and humble group of wonderful humans. (I could hug each and every one of them.) I believe this band could just as well play in different genres, like Jazz-Rock or Bossa Nova, lol. The three main instrumentalists certainly have it in them. It's clear that they have the musical background. But Rock 'n Roll is what Miku wanted to play and that's what they are playing. And they are doing it sooo well. Making it interesting and completely their own. That last rock band that I loved like this was The Police (one of he best drummers, although the guitarist was a really weak soloist). And now I love Band-Maid! I'm still not a fan of the hard rock sound but I love watching these women perform as a band. They are the future. Thank you Band-Maid. For the joy you bring into this world. May you stay healthy, creative and free.
Same here. I don't like hard rock or metal. Classical music, jazz, latin jazz, latin music in general. But I love Band Maid. They are one of the best bands of anything I have ever heard in my life.
Glad to hear I’m not the only strange one who never liked (and still don’t) like rock music but am absolutely in love with this band’s songs and live performances... and their dorky and quirky personalities. They are a miracle band (as Akane puts it) and it’d be a sad day when one of them leaves and they disband. Even if they find a replacement it will never be the same.
A great post Marc. I got into them recently too. For me, personally, they're carrying the torch of great songwriting bands who break the rock stereotypes. I like a lot of things from pop to classical (Depeche Mode albums were a big thing for me in the 80s). I, like a number of old Rush fans, have found Band-Maid an easy transition. Rush had reached a real pinnacle of musicianship...40 years of album/tour/album/tour etc...for 19 albums. Not just great songwriting and astounding virtuosity but the nicest, decent people too...and I think that's where Band-Maid seem to have the right ingredients to take their musical journey as far as they are determined to pursue...with a loyal fan-base I'm sure. As you're appreciating what B-M bring with their skills, I would implore you to check out some Rush...firstly, less obvious, their 'Power Windows' album. Alongside the 80s cheesy/soft rock era I find this a master class of progressive songwriting...the percussion/lyrics by (many say) best drummer ever!...a sublime guitarist...vocals and bass by a unique individual with the most melodic basslines (songs like 'The Big Money' and 'Marathon'). Also, see what they did in their early twenties in the video of song 'Xanadu (Live...exit stage left tour 1981)'...3 guys sounding like 5 or 6 musicians much of the time...awesome. Excuse the 'hard sell'...I'd be interested to know Marc...which musicians do you rate as the finest you know, regardless of genre? I always like the chance to discover something great that I've been missing.
@@weilima9316 It's amazing that, apparently, when they made 'Thrill' 6 years ago...they were thinking about giving up as a band. But the online attention that video brought from around the world gave them the push to continue. I'm so glad!! I agree...the lineup seems perfect/irreplaceable.
Not many solo guitar players can make my hair stand up and make me shiver, Kanami Tono is one of the few that can. In Daydreaming and About Us she was able to make an old guy cry and shed some tears from the beauti of her playing. I grew up with Carlos Santana and Eddie Van Halen and the likes, Kanami has captured their spirit and mixed it with her own, she is an incredible great guitarplayer, the feeling she has is beyond amazing.
She has become a guitar hero for me. My other one is Dave Gilmour. I have learned so much from Mincho san’s playing and I’ve barely scratched the surface. Playing along with this song makes me feel like I have wings.
I found this song through a movie on netflix called 'Kate', I absolutely love this song after watching the movie. I have been listening to this song almost everyday.

THE best Rock band on Earth. Think that covers everything.
The movie Kate on Netflix brought me here. Wow an all women rock band. Bad ass
During the car chase scene, they also played a part of the song Blooming by Them. Here is a link to their music video. ruclips.net/video/uUt_JBMocKM/видео.html

Thanks they ROCK!
welcome to bandmaid 😁🤘🔥
Welcome…you have just entered the Maidiac zone.
Yes, Peacemaker brought me here.
Yes, this song is a certified banger.
When I heard bandmaid in peacemaker I screamed like a little fangirl, holy moly.
Me too! While repetitively tapping my brother on the shoulder
Thanks Nicolas-Troyan. I thought he made very good use of this song in “Kate”. Showed what a true fan he is of Band-Maid also with all the details like MISA’s whiskey bottle on her amp and listing the ladies in the credits in the order that Band-Maid was formed. (And from another interview he apparently made Miku/Ani tie her shoes with Band-Maid shoelaces?)
For those who came from “Kate”, don’t forget to check out Blooming (car chase scene) and basically every other song in Band-Maid’s 100+ song discography. There’s also a live version of Choose Me on their RUclips channel!
Misa was probably nervous to play while being a part in a *movie* without that whiskey bottle. She's said in numerous interviews that she's actually very shy, especially when talking to people or performing and drinks some whiskey prior to shows.
I'm pretty sure this is Misa prior to starting shows or at dive bars:

Japanese girl bands rule, and Band-Maid is the best of them all. They really combine cuteness with the ferocity and speed of punk and the heavy melody lines and solos of the best metal.
Thanks Peacemaker for this discovery!!
かっこよすぎて鳥肌立ちましたわ。
すごいなこの子ら。
ガールズバンドとかで括れない。音で勝負しているバンド。
メイドの格好より音にインパクトがありますわ。胸熱。
Traduction svp 😑😑
Thanks Peacemaker for bring to me to this masterpiece, especially Judomaster

That band is a masterpiece, but this song is but one of their over 100 masterpieces.
KIAI!!!!! DING DONG BITCHES!!!!!

Peacemaker brought me here, awesome song!!!!
Came here for this and blooming and stayed for their whole damn catalog lmao
That tends to happen… it’s now well past 100 tracks and almost sure to grow again this year.
LOL! I found them accidentally 4.5 years ago and I haven't left yet!
For anime enthusiasts, Band-Maid’s “Different” will be the OP for Log Horizon Season 3 airing in Jan 2021.

Yep. Peacemaker also brought me here. I just wished they could’ve played more of the song in the episode. But thanks James Gunn for including this!
I just watched S1:E3 of Peacemaker and heard "Choose Me" on Judo Masters car radio just before the crash!!!

Just brilliant. The song, perfomance, drive. Pure rock'n'roll.

While this is an amazing song they have many others. You should definitely check out their live videos. Domination is probably the best intro song. Have fun!

Well, it seems that we'll be getting more views from the Peacemaker playlist. The road to 10 million is coming Maidiacs.
That's the beauty of a good song. They all get discovered eventually, if you wait long enough.
Was expecting it to cross the line on Saturday but now it might be a liiiiiiittle bit earlier.
woa thats awesome, another step toward global domination!

Band-Maid just kicks ass ,that's all there is to it 🎸🥁🤟
まじかっこ良すぎんだろ….
I just clicked on one of their random videos. This is like the fourth or fifth one. Jesus christ, the amount of talent in one band. Was a fan on the first vid I watched.
I always know I'm a member of the correct church when my Savior is always mentioned by others in completely unrelated ways to their comment.
Saiki is DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS. And, she has an amazing voice.
That you can't understand.
Happy to see the community so welcoming to all of us who came in from Peacemaker. ✌️
Searched for the soundtrack for “Kate”. Not disappointed 🤓☺️
SAME
I'm not sure why RUclips recommended this to me,
but for once RUclips has made the right recommendation.
Hell Yeah! Welcome brother!
Welcome aboard!
got here by pure luck, I regret nothing
Same here
Agreed thank you youtube gods for dropping this bad ass gem of a band in my lap like it has never done ever!
This ladies kill it!
Like a mix of 80's and 90's rock.
Amazing!!
(I could hug each and every one of them.)
I believe this band could just as well play in different genres, like Jazz-Rock or Bossa Nova, lol.
@@philproffitt8363 Yes, it's true. They were almost about to call it quits. Then, "Thrill" happened, of all places overseas. I read the interviews.
Santana was a major influence on her.
@@markhunter8554Yes, Kanami said so in an interview. I believe that influence made her choose PRS as her guitar, like Carlos. 😀
I'm not watching this because of 'Kate'. I watched 'Kate' because of Band-Maid!!
Same there😂😂
@@gasptony9860 Same. I came across Kate in Netflix but I didn't watch it until months later when I found out Band-Maid is in the movie.
If I ever watch Kate, it will for sure be because Band-Maid are in the movie 🙂
I found this song through a movie on netflix called 'Kate', I absolutely love this song after watching the movie. I have been listening to this song almost everyday.
