Im not gonna lie, I usually have a hard time with many kpop songs for what many would say “too much is going on”. NCT isn’t the only ones. The reason why for me is because I love when a song is just homogeneous throughout, HOWEVER, I think when “noise” is done right it works. For NCT it works. Like sometimes I have a hard time getting into their music, but when I keep listening I just discover more beauty in the song. I should be more specific NCT127. They do much more crazy energy music. I’m more of a NCTU girl, more chill and homogeneous for me. I hope that makes sense
because nct was not as popular as other groups i'd rather not mention, though as a fan i have been more than glad, through the roof glad that that they are gaining popularity especially this 2020 and is now being recognized as one of the best now in the industry. being a million seller is not bad at all and they did it twice this year with neozone and resonance so i am happy for them.
I’ll be honest the first few times I heard this song I could not even process it. I gave up. Went back a month later and suddenly everything about it just sounded right. It took my brain a month to decide it liked it.
I loved it straight away, the R&B chorus just oversold and delivered. Great balance of genres. That’s why I love NCT, all their songs are a fusion of R&B and another genre.

This comeback was everything, the album was so beautiful, Kick it was such a new sound out of all the songs for this year in kpop and I wished it would’ve won best dance performance for male group.
i think the highlight of kick it is the many things happening in a span of three-plus minutes. to some it gets repetitive or overwhelming at times, but there's always a certain part that would keep you listening. and with all the changes, it keeps the same vibe and doesn't morphe into something else. the build-up from the bridge to the dance break was honestly the best part, the way they change the beat in a matter of seconds. i find kick it thoroughly enjoyable.
This song remains me a lot at how i first reacted to Cherry Bomb. Everything was strange at first but mostly bcs the song shocked me and i never expected it turned out to be like that lol. But when i try to hear for 2nd times and more, it really grew on me and when they hit them melody i was like WHAT THE AKCHMSBCKSNFJD and shortly they became my fav ahahah

Lmao as a nctzen I fully disliked this song on first listen because I thought it was just ‘noise music’ but after a while it grew on me and became an absolute BANGER, it’s one of my favourite releases of the year and that bridge is def one of my all time favourites in nct’s discography

When Kick It was released, there were a lot of people confused, but it helped NCT 127 become so much more popular in Korea and solidify their signature song style. I actually disagree. They only said Bruce Lee 6 times if am not mistaken and that isn’t near enough times to be annoying or repetitive especially given the amount of repetitiveness we get from pop songs nowadays with catch phrases “na” or “eh” or “la”, stuff like that.

I have to admit that I didn't like this song at first, I find the "Bruce Lee" quite cringey. I totally agree with Kevins commentary, the R&B pulled me back in after I listened to it a few times but when I first heard it it just sounded messy and confusing. I find that with a lot of NCT 127's music it takes me a few listens before I can vibe with it. I almost always end up liking it but is take me a bit to get on board with it.
I agree that the Bruce Lee is kinda repetitive, the song ends up growing on you. And definitely Taeil's highnote and MarkYongJohh rap is one of the coolest parts of the song!!

when one of the reactors starts getting really into whatever they're explaining and the other is listening and nodding along and then starts smiling because the passion and enthusiasm is contagious... yeah that's kind of my favorite thing
i like everything about this song except the chorus. shouted choruses are not my thing and the instrumental reminded of a blender turned on. the pre chorus and the bridge are perfect tho. nct is known for their rappers, but their vocalists are what made me stay. the mv, the styling and the choreo are really good and the song brought them a lot of recognition and new fans(myself included), so i'm happy with how successful this comeback was, even though this song wasn't my cup of tea(cuz of the chorus). it really made me interested in their(and the other subunits) music and i loved what i have found. their b-sides are amazing, specially the r&b driven ones and the ballads, which just proves how versatile and rich their sound and discography are.
That's pretty much how I felt about it on release. Definitely love the song and the whole shout chorus/Bruce Lee thing has become less grating over the times I've listened to it but definitely is something I'm still "meh" about. Everything beyond the chorus is gold and why I come back to the song.

I always see people say that it takes them a few listens to actually like one of their songs which I totally get, but for some reason I'm the opposite. I remember so many people not liking Simon Says when it came out, but first time I heard it and Kick It I knew within the 20 sec that they were going to be my fav title tracks so far, but when Touch and Highway To Heaven came out they weren't my favorite and took a few listens to grow on me overtime. Maybe I just have strange music tastes, but NCT became one of my top two groups because of how different/experimental and unique their sound is. I'm usually not a big fan of mainstream music so finding kpop a few years back was like hitting the jackpot because it was so different and I loved it. I have noticed more western mainstream influences or similarities in some of the newer kpop songs which I get because they are trying to draw that audience in, but I hope it doesn't all change (no offense to anyone's music tastes, just my personal preference). Lmao as a nctzen I fully disliked this song on first listen because I thought it was just ‘noise music’ but after a while it grew on me and became an absolute BANGER, it’s one of my favourite releases of the year and that bridge is def one of my all time favourites in nct’s discography

But anyway, I’m so glad that you’re reacting to this song! When Kick It was released, there were a lot of people confused, but it helped NCT 127 become so much more popular in Korea and solidify their signature song style. Some could say NCT only has “noise music” but this song was covered by so many fans and idols alike and gave such a unique and refreshing experience. Honestly my pick for song of the year!

After hearing Kevin's commentary I realized for the first time how the "Bruce Lee" kinda repetitive and less original and his comments also gave me a new perspective so thank you for the video! I still really absolutely love the song but all the commentary was very insightful :)
I actually disagree. They only said Bruce Lee 6 times if am not mistaken and that isn’t near enough times to be annoying or repetitive especially given the amount of repetitiveness we get from pop songs nowadays with catch phrases “na” or “eh” or “la”, stuff like that.

I have to admit that I didn't like this song at first, I find the "Bruce Lee" quite cringey. I totally agree with Kevins commentary, the R&B pulled me back in after I listened to it a few times but when I first heard it it just sounded messy and confusing. I find that with a lot of NCT 127's music it takes me a few listens before I can vibe with it. I almost always end up liking it but is take me a bit to get on board with it.
Tbh I wasn't a fan of how they repeat Bruce Lee over and over and over again either

I didn’t think much about the Bruce Lee like but when Kevin explained his opinion on it I was blown away because it made so much sense. It really did kinda rub off as repetitive.

I feel like this song makes more sense to Nctzens who are more familiar with NCT’s music, this song really portrays the energy that NCT has as a group. Their very strong dynamics, strong choreographies and vocals are perfectly showed in Kick it, even the visuals (which are also strong ofc)

I absolutely love this song and I think it helps the general public to see clearly what's the NCT 127 style. But I gotta admit, as a NCTzens since 2016, I don't like most of their song on the first try LOL. It's always so different that my brain can't process. Kick it wasn't any different, I thought the song was so weird at first, now I just think everything is so perfect! i like everything about this song except the chorus. shouted choruses are not my thing and the instrumental reminded of a blender turned on. the pre chorus and the bridge are perfect tho. nct is known for their rappers, but their vocalists are what made me stay. the mv, the styling and the choreo are really good and the song brought them a lot of recognition and new fans(myself included), so i'm happy with how successful this comeback was, even though this song wasn't my cup of tea(cuz of the chorus). it really made me interested in their(and the other subunits) music and i loved what i have found. their b-sides are amazing, specially the r&b driven ones and the ballads, which just proves how versatile and rich their sound and discography are.

That's pretty much how I felt about it on release. Definitely love the song and the whole shout chorus/Bruce Lee thing has become less grating over the times I've listened to it but definitely is something I'm still "meh" about. Everything beyond the chorus is gold and why I come back to the song.

@@rioview1706 i liked their debut, than hated adios, was okay with dun dun after a couple listens and loved la di da. for some reason, before la di da(and even after) adios is a lot of people's favorite title track, specially outside of the fandom and i just can't get it, hahah it's always my least favorite or the one i don't like that blows up
@@elite393 yeah. i tried listening to it a lot of times and now i'm more used to it, but i still don't like it. :( but it's okay, i found really nice b-sides on neo zone and on their past albums + the other subunits albums. as expected from sm, the b-sides never fail and have other title tracks that suit better my taste. :)

Never clicked so fast!!! Love these reactors and love this song so much! Thank you for another great reaction. Am I the only one that likes NCT 127 experimental songs on the first listen? I always see people say that it takes them a few listens to actually like one of their songs which I totally get, but for some reason I'm the opposite. I remember so many people not liking Simon Says when it came out, but first time I heard it and Kick It I knew within the 20 sec that they were going to be my fav title tracks so far, but when Touch and Highway To Heaven came out they weren't my favorite and took a few listens to grow on me overtime. Maybe I just have strange music tastes, but NCT became one of my top two groups because of how different/experimental and unique their sound is. I'm usually not a big fan of mainstream music so finding kpop a few years back was like hitting the jackpot because it was so different and I loved it. I have noticed more western mainstream influences or similarities in some of the newer kpop songs which I get because they are trying to draw that audience in, but I hope it doesn't all change (no offense to anyone's music tastes, just my personal preference). And I really hope NCT 127 never changes because their music is what sets them apart and makes them unique even if they aren't as popular for it.

*NCT* be growing in every song and album, I admire their growth and that is why I *STAN* them. I mean *"Punch"* wasn't everyone's favourite but it I know for a fact it grew on everyone once they listened to it more. *NCT* songs are a grower, not everyone would like the song in a first listen but it will be *ICONIC* once it is listen to more than 3 times

The first time I listened to Kick It when it was just released, me and my classmates reacted the same as Kevin. Why are they saying Bruce Lee so many times!? Why is it like constantly changing? So much is going on ! And then the next week I had to return home becuz of corona and heard the song several times and now it grew so much on me that I forgot why I found it weird. Kevin's words reminded me lol
