When I came across your video today....I was searching for anything to help me and this video has changed me and my newborn's life INSTANTLY 🙌🏽! My nipples have been so sore that they felt raw despite using the best organic nipple creams and trying to ensure proper latch. My newborn was not opening her mouth wide enough to latch deeply. I felt like giving up and just do formula feed, but I put this breastfeeding method into practice right away and it worked like magic. My baby and I both were the most relaxed that we have ever been since coming from the hospital by using this method. It was painless. My baby is 5 weeks now and I have huge breasts.... So for the moms that may be struggling please try this method and I hope it works just as well for you! Happy feeding and resting! 🤗👌🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽 😴❤️
I am just like you .. is there is any other positions for big breast mum's to make the breast feeding experience more easy.. and if you have tips and advice
No cream reduce nipple crack... In any position u just insert areola fully inside babies mouth... I have worst nipple crak until 2months of postpartum with my first baby but now it's my 38th day of postpartum with second no crack pain and struggles... Yes i have pain in first week but now correct latching heald every thing...
Thank you for this video! It is one of the main reasons why my daughter and I managed to breastfeed comfortably after a difficult start and weeks of struggling. At two months, she would already roll towards me when we lay down, so it not only helped us feed more relaxed and without back pain but also helped her motor development!
You angel 😭😭❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I tried before your video and couldn't get it but I just followed your instructions and got it first go. I can't express the complete relief
I got this recommended now while I'm feeding my daughter in this position so I at lease double-checked if I'm doing it right. I learned few new tips how to do it better and fixed it straight away. thank you ^^
This is so so helpful. You would think you really know the dos and donts of how to breastfeed properly until its time to do it. So yeah, this came at the right time
Thanks for the video. You have saved my back from aching due to prolonged late night breastfeeding. Now my baby can latch comfortably as I enjoy the breastfeeding process
I am 35weeks pregnant.. and im so glad i found your videos! I'm also a nurse but still don't know what to do EXACTLY step by step for a good deep latch ... so thank you so much for sharing your knowledge... 😌 I pray that me and my baby girl will have successful bf sessions.. 😌🙏🏻💕
8 years later and this video is still a treasure. I do side lying breastfeading, but it's hit and miss most of the times. By now I have figured it out more or less, but it's still not a comfortable position to be in. In my country bed-sharing and nursing lying down is actually encouraged, because apparently babies sleep more soundly as they feel safer and they grow up to be less anxious. of course taking all safety percausions.
Omg 😱 this was soo helpful for the pass two weeks now I have been waking up and breastfeeding my son each time wen he wakes up, I literally just try this and it worked 😢thank you so much
This was an excellent video and so helpful! I especially appreciated your analogies “like a baby bird” and “like a drawbridge.” They really helped illustrate your point. Hopefully, we will be able to land at this technique soon.
Thank you.... Actually i have been doing it on my own... Thinking it was comfortable for me and my babies... But thank you bcz u showed it.. and all these steps are comfortable for the nursing mothers and babies...
Second baby! I remember watching this video years ago with my first and it's come in as a handy reminder again now. It makes such a difference to be able to nurse like this! I wake up most mornings feeling fresh even with a 3 week old!
@@zoesee9109 my baby is almost 3months now and what ive learned so far is that he will awaken after a few minutes because of trapped air anyway if i dont burp him immediately. So i getup and try to get a burp every feeding especially on the first month. Later on i became a little bit lenient since he seems to manage fine without burp every single night feed already when he reached two months. But i still most of the time burp him every feed

Nice method. Will definitely try. Just one question. We still have to get up to pat the baby in order to make his/her Burp right? Or can we pat when the baby is in side lying position? I'm confused
OMG thanks for sharing this. Gladly I am doing the things you mentioned in this video atleast 90% correct unconsciously. Will make sure to do have it 100% correct since I’ve learned good tips from this vid.
Not only is this a very comfortable option, but for my baby, it reduced the amount of gas he had significantly. He would constantly cry and push in pain trying to get trapped gas out, but when I switched to side lying position, he rarely is in pain.
Side laying is a natural and most frequent position to breastfeed for mother dogs, cats and other lower animals too cos in this position both mom n baby r in relaxed side laying position reducing exhaustion, strain on body n even gas Side laying reduce nipple pain too
My baby won't lift his head up higher to find the nipple. He just latches on to where he can reach, usually just below my nipple and starts sucking until i pull him off. I can't get the nipple into his mouth for the life of me. Just when he latches by himself and that ends up too shallow. Any ideas?
Thanks so much for this very helpful video! Can you share any tips on how to get baby’s arms under the breast? Mine often has her arms tense and up towards her head when she’s hungry and I don’t want to force her arm down
I should've watch this before doing this position. My back is sore from side lying position and my baby seemed curved and not looking up. Will definitely try this
Incredibly helpful video! Question: now at six months my baby's arms are getting in the way. Too long to keep under the breast comfortably without a little elbow in my ribs, but with arms in between us, we often get a shallow latch. Any advice?
I would recommend the top of bed bedrail style - they clamp right on top of the bed so there is no gap. The other kind are only rated for safety with toddlers as you can lean on them and increase the gap which is a trap hazard. Babies under 4 months should only be on the side of the mom so you can feed with the top boob or flip in the bed or stay awake to roll them back. After 4-6 months it is safe to leave them in the middle with blankets to the waist and no pillows near the baby.
NEVER should there be a pillow around baby's head or face. Please research "James McKenna co-sleeping safety" for lots of details on how to set up the bedding safely
I got it at babies R Us ages ago before they closed... I refused to pay $100 for an official teaching model ( they aren't very nice anyway) Search online for a realistic newborn 20 inch doll... It is very important to NOT put a pilllow. Pillows are a suffocation hazard around baby's face. For more info check this link: cosleeping.nd.edu/safe-co-sleeping-guidelines/
Babies who are formula fed are at higher risk of SIDS/SUID. so we want to do everything we can to protect them. Placing them on a separate sleep surface appears to protect formula fed babies. Please refer to research by James McKenna, PhD, Notre Dame University.
You may need to make your leg closest to the bed straight, and tip your top leg forward to maintain your balance. Pillow behind your back is important in this situation. Some babies do this, it's just their personality :D

Thanks again! Eileen
My newborn sleeps on her side. Even when I put her on her back, she goes back to her side. So when I lay and feed, I usually fall asleep and she’s still on her side when I wake up. I guess that’s just how she likes to sleep.
I've been struggling since i give birth to my 2nd child how to do nursing properly. Someone told me its not safe to do nursing whyl lying down because it can cause harm to my kids.. Like drowning if i didn't do burp my kids after nursing. Is it true?
Burping is a good comfort measure, or to prevent a baby from spitting up, but it's not always necessary. I personally will not wake a sleeping baby to burp it. If you are laying down you can easily just lift the baby up sideways across your tummy to burp the baby so you don't have to sit up!
Super video! Have two additions/tips: First: if you put the baby in the center of a doublebed put a long pullow between the baby and your partner. The risk is, that the partner will throw his blanket on the baby. Becuase of this, I have an extra babybed on my side of the bed, wo I can put the baby back in his bed, but it is not risky, if I fall asleep while nursing.
My breasts are big and heavy. I have to hold my breast with both hands that my baby can nurse but this is so uncomfortable for me. Another question is if I put babys hand under my heavy breast, doesnt it disrupt the blood flow?

My breasts are big and heavy. I have to hold my breast with both hands that my baby can nurse but this is so uncomfortable for me. Another question is if I put babys hand under my heavy breast, doesnt it disrupt the blood flow?
Thank you for this 🥰
Does feeding in sleeping position cause aspiration

Best video out there. Thank you so much!!!
Ive been doing this same.tecgnique simce my first baby..no.one taught me I just did it instinctively. Ive now.haf 5 children and never ever ever squished my baby in the bed. Mums have a natural instinct not.to roll onto.your baby. As for partners I suggest to put body pillow between him and baby so.he doesnt roll.onto him.or her.
chelsea timoti did you ever develop shoulder, back or neck pain from it? I did it with my last child (8 years ago) and again now. I don’t remember last time, but this time I’m feeling joint and muscle soreness in those areas!
