    I used this back in February after seeing so many great reviews on RUclips etc.
    I've washed my car with Turtle Max to the max to strip down old waxes etc. Then totally awesome APC. Nothing has touched Cerakote.
    My last wash Saturday morning July 16, 2022 was my 30th plus this year since using Cerakote in my 2010 Kia Optima LX and still no signs of loosing appearance, but this week after washing again then using my prep spray on all my trim areas I will be applying Cerakote again.
    I know 200 washes but I like it so much I figured what can it hurt to reapply it every 3 or 4 months just for upkeep. Just hope for a cool Texas morning to get 'er done 👍🇺🇸 HOOAH 🇺🇸🔥

I found the trick is to not let the wipe get to dry and the gloves make the pads slippery to grip will have to see how long it last but happy with the end results if you miss a spot it is easy to see to do a touch up

    Works WAY better than I would have expected on my 19 yr old GMC Canyon's terrible looking bumper trim. Degreased areas fully, then lightly rubbed-in worse areas & coated passenger side of bumper heavily to allow whatever soaking in it might need. Waited 24 hrs, then went over previously wiped areas again to detail. Dried to an even & nice medium shine. Will complete the other side of bumper when I'm ready. But for now, I like to show interested people what this awesome product can do.....

    Absolutely don't use Cerakote products on your trim if the car is evenly remotely new. They won't tell you this, which is appalling, but it'll wreck trim on a new car. The off gassing will push the coating away from the surface and can't be fixed. There should be a class action lawsuit against the company, no questions asked.

    I never tried using it on interior trim, but I wonder if it could be used to remove scuff marks on interior plastic trim.

      I tried on the lower doors on a customers car t made the area a bit too shiny on the hard plastic,. there needs to be a solution for that because the hard plastic gets kicked on the lower door panels so easily and not much works to restore that unless you re dye the area.

      @@autofanaticcars Yeah, if somebody can come up with a good solution for this issue that does not require redying, that would be a real moneymaker!

    Would odorless mineral spirits be an appropriate substitute for the prep solvent?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 года назад +2

      do not use mineral spirits on the plastic it can leave residue and eat into the plastic itself

    It's a very good product, I just don't like it's gloss finish.

      It just doesn’t look new. It looks like a poor attempted armor all application that just sticks around forever.
