- Hi all, today I'll show you how to land the PMDG 737 at Samos using the VOR approach followed by the circling to runway 09.
I'll give you some inside tipps on how to proceed with the circling and fly that final turn.

I’m really enjoying learning from you, especially the technique of flying in circles to land. I’ve tried it at PARO and LOWI, and now I’m excited to apply what I’ve learned at Samos. The progress I’m making is so much fun, and I’m grateful to have you guiding me through this journey. Thank you once again! 🙏
Amazing approach and landing! great explanation as always!! really enjoyed this video, its a very beautiful approach to fly. Thanks for the video!
I learn so much watching your videos ... it's very , very valuable. Thanks.
Thanks, I love this series here where you show us interesting landing approaches and explain them.
Very interesting like usual. Now, there is one of the most challenging approaches has left to show: LOWI!
Will come for sure at one point!
Great detailed video again man :) Gotta love those FSRealistic call outs at touchdown it really transforms the sim haha
Very helpful video, thanks! I practiced the approach just now, managed to land but got a stick shaker and got too high on final. This approach is ideal for learning hand flying with the Boeing 737.
Thank you for this tutorial, I fly this approach quite often actually and also knew about to set the bearing / distance point in the fix page. What I wasn’t aware of is to setup the second line drawing to get the crossing point at the 240 radial to turn to final and the flaps 40. So happy to learn something there. Thanks again ( Ifly it in VR, wich is a bit easier because of the ability to view sideways).
(Still waiting for your second video on FSHUD before I purchase wich you promised us)😅
Yeah, it’ll come but I’m doing so much flying now and with so many delays that I just don’t have time to record many videos from within the sim. The majority of videos I’m doing right now are recorded in the hotel room haha
Well, I guess this is the new Kai Tak approach, but than perhaps harder. And this time no high rise buildings like at Kai Tak, but a shed and a pier here. But still the difficulty perhaps is more than the old Kai Tak I guess. Thank you for the interesting approaches, perhaps you have some more. Or as you also pointing to.., it would be interesting to see how you do this one with 25kts crosswinds or so. I will have to practice more when I see this, that I know for sure. Thanks again, have a nice weekend.
I’ll think about such a video!
Great video! That’s a very busy approach to say the least. Thanks
Excellent piece again, thanks for the clear explanations
My pleasure!
Oh yes, thank you for the video. Finally, Samos. :-)
Very helpful video like always. Somebody was complaining about the touch down in the background, what was that😂?
Great video, thanks, will try this approach definitely
Hi! Great video that helped me succeed with this approach and also taught me a few things about the 737.
I was concerned, however, when you set two different headings in the two course selectors. Suppose you activate the VOR/LOC mode, which heading would the plane follow?
It's probably a naive question, but I thought I absolutely had to set the same heading in each course selector.
Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply to my comment!
Your videos are awesome!
The new update is out lets goooo🤩
That videos I want. I am from Greece and the approaches as I see are not ils or rnav except Athens and some other places . Sorry for my English.
Огромное спасибо. Мое уважение Вам
Excellent video. Why do you recycle the FD? I guess the FPA only shows the symbol does not change the descent path.
Excellent 👏👌👍
Oh no, not a complaint but a request as for us new to the 737 the fix page radials and added waypoints on the legs page are confusing without closer views, can we please have close up shots on these amazing tutorials when you're teaching us any new things on the fmc.
Thankyou for your great vids and a side question, hows the g2 now ? Have you managed to get it set up for the amazing experience the majority of us users have ?
Suggestion noted, have to experiment with how to realism it.
Didn't really find much time to tweak with the G2 in the last weeks. Mostly I'm at work.

Hello, can you help me? In pmdg 737 for msfs, when i go in fs actions and payload the initial zfw is 118.1 and i can't put a lower zfw than 84.9.What should i do?
Not sure, what is the problem even?
Sounds like correct numbers. Take note of the unit of measurement, your aircraft is probably set to LBS rather than KGS. You can switch those on the display settings tab. The intro manual refers.
@@A330Driver It worked,thanks!!
Cool, I do this approach just like you did and I am not a real pilot. Can you do a RNP approach in Paro (VQPR) on RWY15?
Once the new LNAV module is out I'll consider all those RNP approaches.
What happens when the owner off the shed has enough of those planes flying over his shed ,and paints it green?
That's probably the time we get an RNP AR Approach :D
Thank you, Emmanuel, for this excellent tutorial. I've tried it exactly how you explain it, but when I set 6000feet for the missed approach altitude the aircraft wants to climb. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to press the app button on this approach procedure?
You can set the MAA but don't activate it.......
Have a look at my VOR approach tutorial and my RNAV approach tutorial. In those I explain the exact procedures in more details.
Thanks for helping!
@@A330Driver I saw both tutorials and have a successful landing at Samos. Thank you! I have still doubt about recycling the FD. In the RNAV tutorial, you mentioned that they should be recycled when there is no runway waypoint. We can see in the FMC @ 2m45 that there is RW09 and you have recycled the FD's. Is it not a waypoint that RW09? Why did you do it? I'm sorry about that but I would like to learn it properly. Cheers.
359 inbound course....your corse selector is 358...
schöne Ryanair Landung ...aber bist du ja von der Arbeit gewohnt xD
"The definition of a safe landing does not include the smoothness of the landing"
- Boeing 😉
A little typo in the preview image: “Clircling”.
Thanks! Out from my PC for the next 8 days or so, but I'll correct it when I'm back!
@@A330Driver ❤️
can anyone tell me where course for airport to enter in sim ?
Sorry, could you phrase your question a bit clearer? I don't understand what you're asking for.
@@A330Driver I wanted to where to find course for airport which can be entered in aircraft sir . Example course for Paris airport is 256
is it me or the autobrake seems to be a bit weak?
yes , landet at LOWI , Autobrakes are too weak, manual breaking too
Has to be you, they are working very well here.
