Well done on picking up the mamiya bro. I have the rz67. A little tip when focusing reLly close is look on the side of the bellows to see how much you need to compensate with exposure. What ever lens you have on the camera see what the chart says to add.

I start shooting with the RB67 about 8 months ago and it’s really my go to camera for photoshoots/portrait work now. You’ll definitely get used to it the more you use it and get used to the weight of it too. Just don’t forget about the focus ring on the lens itself. For close ups you might want to change the focus ring to get a more focused shot but for anything 5ft away infinity works just fine. The shots you took are amazing btw

the dynamic range of a film camera is so good man, i did Large Format in my college as a class, and although i dont do it due to how expensive it is to me at this moment, in the future i wish to start shooting large format is life grants me it, the details are so good! Im excited for you using medium format, you have the eye for it! 🔥💯

Can't beat that RB67 mirror slap. Best sound ever. I've got a Polaroid back for mine too, but pack film is crazy money these days.
It's May 2020 this camera now goes for $500s. I want to get a medium format but the prices have gone insane.
If that's insane then idk what to call digital prices... And you can get the Kiev medium format cameras for less than that.

Favorite camera currently. Try overexposing that Portra 400 (rate it at 200) down a stop. shit come out fire.
Stay with the RB. All mechanical and not as fragile as the RZ. Cheaper to fix too. Wait till you get your hands on the KL 180mm. Add a couple of extra magazine backs. Throw a matte box up front and WOW!!

Beautiful camera. I use to have one but it got stolen a week after I bought it and I bought the RZ. This is a great alternative to the Hasselblad 500 series. I'm surprised to see it become more popular now, it's only a matter of time before people start increasing the prices on it.

Any of that retro Mamiya is absolute sex. I have an RZ and a C220 TLR and those are the only ones I love portraits from, so pissed that I sold my 645AF but I was broke. PS your vids are awesome.

I just bought a Sony a6400 ... it arrived yesterday and this is my first mirrorless or interchangeable lens camera period... I am pretty much a novice... any tips on getting good shots... one thing I did learn is symmetrical locations make good dramatic shots.. but any tips u have will help

You want the RZ67 instead of RB67... prices on these are so low anyhow.
nobody nowhere i do not. the only differences is that the RZ has electronic features. Doesn’t justify the $700 price gap in my opinion. Especially on a camera I wouldn’t use everyday.
@@vuhlandes Its just way smoother camera overall.. its not just the electronic shutter. The lenses are also quite a lot more modern, but yeah... the price difference is larger than i though. Seems you can get RB67 & one lens for around 300$, thats cheap. While RZ67 seems to be going for 700-800$ with one lens. But then again, you can get the 110/2.8 on RZ67. But both are amazing cameras anyhow.
RZ67 is probably the smoothest nicest camera i have ever used, then again.. thats why i also sold it.. it was too perfect :)

I’ve shot with the RZ and it feels the exact same if I’m being honest it doesn’t feel any different at all. I think all that doesn’t even matter when it comes to taking pictures at the end of the day. If I spend 1200-1300 dollars on something it probably wouldn’t be that. But I feel it. Just not for me...

No one really just walks around with an RB. They'll take it to shoots, but its def a "Studio" camera. Fire video all around though, and dope images.
