Whenever I do Hades EX and the party manages to kill Ascian Prime before he can cast Shadow Flare, I feel a sense of spiteful glee. “If I can’t have it, NO ONE CAN.”
I began playing in December 2017... and I will tell you that Blood Bath for Tanks, the Tank and fighting stances, ect. lots of those things were still active. My favorite recovery combo as a blackmage was taken from me by the updates. when I was down on HP, what I could do was caste a spell that healed me by 1/2 the damage caused . It was fast cast time, and I combo'ed it with a skill called "Scathe" to do damage as I moved. When shadow bringers came out, I had to totally give up on hard content with the Blackmage and switch over to main tanking and Red mage due to the loss of his recovery combo. And TP stands for "tactical points' It was linked to some skills for Warriors back in the day. I used to run out of it, and be stuck defending while standing around for a couple of seconds. It regenerated way faster than MP though, so it was not a big deal until you got to savage.
Oof Also the timer wouldn't be shown on the ui and it would still go down when you're mounted or in a city. That made it so that you'd have to really think before you summon it.
The EW Benchmark makes me hope since it looks like we get at least smth like the poledance back 😭 (I wasn't around when it was part of the game and I still smhw miss it)
Proto Ultima appearance is tied to its quest in Idylshire. As long as one out of the 24 persons has the Proto Ultima quest ongoing, it will show up. However, if nobody does, the succubus will spawn.
@@IosLocarth The quest is "Unidentified Flying Object". To complete it, you need to kill Proto Ultima, which is why it will replace the Shadowcourt Handmaiden if at least 1 player in the raid has the quest. If 0 out of 24 players have this quest, the Shadowcourt Handmaiden will still appear instead.

Wow, I didn't know that. That's one of the few or only cases in which possessing a quest or item affects the instance itself. Also, the Proto Ultima items that you can get are pretty nice. My personal favorite is the earrings in which I used as glamour for the earrings slot until Aetheryte Earrings was introduced.
As someone who started playing at the beginning of Shadowbringers, I have a ton of friends who tell me the same stories of from before I played and it just makes me wish I got into XIV much sooner. Such a cool vid Larry, make more of these :^)
No you don't trust me, people cry about losing skills all the time but the QOL changes and updates that we got throughout the years make me don't want to go back.
Ff14 was a exploiting mess back then, I am really glad I joined now, cuz if I joined back then I wouldn't enjoy it seeing larry talk how ppl exploit content or troll others like black mage having provoke or astro ruining ppl's fun by making ppl go faster, it not fun to me and it ruin the game, glad the devs balanced the game and streamlined everything to make it an actual functional mmo that anyone can enjoy and anyone can play normally, man imagine if we don't have tank stance like we do now, and everyone can get provoke oh boii I don't want to think about those trolls who will troll others just because they are bored 🤦🤦
The DRGs in Heroes' Gauntlet will do it too, full Shocked Pikachu mode when I first saw it. There's no way they don't know how badly people want it back so it kind of felt like a taunt or a tease or something on their part, but thankfully it looks like EW will have a similar looking ability, maybe. Guess we'll find out in 60 days....

Another thing I remember was Fate Grinding. It was inefficient for anything other than healer to level via dungeons. So once you got to thirty you went to Costa, then to Coerthas, then basically lived in North Than doing fates. The zone used to be almost as populated as the end game hub because EVERYONE went there for their alt jobs and you'd have dedicated callers and parties in shout chat telling people which route to take to which fates. It actually was pretty fun for the first five hours. Then it just got soul crushing. Only better alternative was the long pull in DD over and over again until your eyes bled. I still twitch when I get that dungeon these days.
@@CeruleanRogue ON the original release of 2.0, the MSQ didn't have enough xp awards to get your character to 50 at the time. N. Thanalan FATE trains were basically the only way to grind levels at that point. XD
Additional point with old tank stances, in Stormblood WAR im particular was able to do so much damage in their DPS stance that they were able to dance between both stances. Tank stance for aggro, then switch to DPS stance for Fell Cleave spam and watch the WAR soar past everyone else on the DPS chart.
Wow, that Rising event with the Squenix HQ visit sounds awesome. I hope they repeat something like that again sometime. I missed last year's event, but I was in the one with the letters arriving in bottles on the beach, and it was very touching reading the devs' messages to the players.
If I heard correctly, they're adding the ability to replay old events during whatever the current one is, I imagine like New Game+, so hopefully they do it for that Rising because it's also my favorite.
RIP Shadow Flare and interesting AST cards. I remember the new cards by "the bad ones go to ranged; the good ones go to melee." One of my favorite moments is saving a wipe against Midgardsormr as AST with three new people. Without Ewer's refresh, I wouldn't have had enough MP to get everyone up.
Fun fact: we are in the third iteration of Diadem. The second iteration had the Emergency Mission raid mentioned in the video, and if I remember right it added a queue for Disciples of Land Now it's just strictly DoL and very different from what it was before
I miss DIadem 2.0. Darksteel Island was the best. And I weep for new FCs who need to build their airship+sub fleets from scratch without it. The sub construction costs were balanced around having unlimited darksteel access, and they've never given back a substitute after deleting Diadem as a source.
As a ninja player I remember being I charge of aggro management with shadewalker on the tank and smokescreen on whichever dps was getting too much aggro
as someone who only started playing XIV last year, I really appreciate seeing all the differences and changes to things over the years. thank you very much for making these kinds of videos, I love them a lot. :)
Don't forget about the glitch where you stayed in the /sit animation and scooted around the world. Or the glitch where your hands would stay up, like in that one Rourou video from way back in the day.

Ah yes the feeling of refusing to let go of a skill. Back when MCH had its 2 turrets I named both of them, and when ShB took out my boy bibbles I REFUSED to takehim off my bar. Even made a farewell gpose capture with him before ShB released and we learned bishop was being removed. Please give me my son back square I miss him....
Oh god... That run to Brayflox Yard's first boss is so ingrained in my brain, I could probably do it blindfolded. I'd rather not relive those times though.
Man I miss alot of these old things. I remember for Dun Scaith I played day 1 and saw the succubus and thought "oh cool!" then i took a break and came back to this proto ultima guy and was like "Who is this imposter"

There's not a day I don't miss bloodbath for my warrior... my healer friends loved hanging out with me because they never had to worry while doing DPS. They day it disappeared I died in a dungeon and they asked what happened, we all grieved that day.
I love these videos. A lot of people go into the history of FFXIV but they are always talking about the behind the scenes stuff. The development, what was happening at Square Enix, and all that. That stuff is cool, but this is what I would MUCH rather hear about!!! What the game was actually LIKE or the players enjoying it at the time. Thank you!! This makes me feel like I have a tiny little slice of the past to take with me even thought I missed these points in the game’s life. :)
Gosh the heavensward memories. Honestly it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, but boy learning how to get the triple fellcleave rotation down was a fun time.
I've only been playing for about a year and its really interesting, Ive been wanting something like this since seeing fire materia on the market board.
I remember as a poor kid reading my brothers gaming magazine they borrowed from their friends. I would read and reread the Final Fantasy XIV sections wishing I could play. I wanted to go on adventures with friends, go through the story, and just get lost in the world of FFXIV. 20 years later, I became a tried working adult that had forgotten my childhood wish. Until a funny video about FFXIV This is Basicly a Blackmage popped up in my RUclips feed. Long story short I got me a gaming PC, researched FFXIV and what happened to the mmo, fell in love all over again. Now I'm a tired but happy working adult who wishes to thank you for helping me rediscover this beautiful game. Thank you Larry, I'm eternally grateful.
When you brought it up, I could just hear in my head, from the DrakGamestein video where you guested on Omega EX, the most anguished "MY SHADOW FLARE!"
Watching this I was expecting to miss the game I never got to experience, instead I'm just really impressed with how much they've improved these old zones and old content for new players. I don't feel like I missed out,
It's really fun to hear about all the old things in the game. Merri talked about his 1.0 days on stream before and it's like listening to your dad go "Back in my day" Now to wait for Larry to talk about Stormblood so i can relate and go "I WAS THERE"
LARRY! how could you forget that Paladins could cast protect and stoneskin too? Oh and WHM had Stoneskin 2 and Aero 3, god those were the good old days.
The fun thing about Proto Ultima in Dun Scaith is that it only appears if at least one person in the entire raid has the repeatable quest from idyllshire. It's entirely possible to queue into Dun Scaith where nobody has the quest and you fight the original boss!
Please keep making these. I started around HW then had to stop for reasons. Got back in at the beginning of ShB. It's neat seeing what I missed in that gap.
Do more of these please, I love these. I wasnt fortunate enough to play this game prior to stormblood and even then I couldnt get into it at the time cause I had no one to play with, so this is an awesome peak into the past for me
I've been playing since like 2013 and I'm amazed at how much stuff I forgot use to be in this game. So from one vet to another I really appreciate these videos, Larry. Edit: RIP Ring of Thorns, I miss you.
Stuff like this - whether from a video like this or from friends who played FFXIV earlier than I did - really makes me wish I got into FFXIV earlier, back in HW or ARR (or even 1.0) so I'd have that kind of history with the game. ...Of course, I don't know if I'd actually have kept with the game if I'd started it back then, but it's really interesting to hear everyone's memories of how things were, for better or for worse.
I got friends in my FC that would tell me stories about how the game was back then and I was amazed with how much as changed since then. One of them really wants that DRG skill back in some form XD
Man, I miss HW sometimes. Miss the skills that were deleted, seeing Idylshire being built as patches were done (not to mention hanging guy lol), old Diadem (even tho I didn't do that raid in it), and doing the Void Ark raids, which are my favs still to this day. It was also the expansion that brought in the Au Ra, which I've changed to as soon as the Early Access hit, and have been since! Lots of great memories of good times in HW!
I like these videos Larry. Keep em going. I just got into FF14 when HW was 2 months in. So much I knew when your rehashing memories of the time. My first Extreme current time with Sephirot and Doing the 24 man in HW along the 8 man
fun fact Squadrons still use shadow flare and it does a ton of dmg, I rock 2 arcanist dps and AOE pull, they melt the mobs, pretty fast way to level up low level jobs.
Arcanists are also the best when you're trying to learn a new healer via squadron runs. I'm over here, fresh level 30 AST playing 52 card pickup and my Arcanists are like "I gotchu"
Larry, Larry no, I still have Rain of Death as a Bard, that's the one with the red arrows from the sky, that fancy backflip one is Wide Volley. I still miss it, along with ring of fire and foe's.

As a 2.0 player it's always funny going down memory lane especially with you explaining this stuff for all the players who never experienced this stuff.
Ugh I'd love to see a healer that basically takes Nascent Flash and uses that as their whole niche. Imagine a DPS based healer that can cast a party wide-regen that stays up as long as they do damage

still stand by machinist having cast times was fine because the class was designed around it since ammo and procs eliminated them and rapidfire also did, just made no sense to have it on bard too
Agreed. That was my biggest beef with bow mage. It was NOT built for cast bars. In fact you spent over 50 levels learning to play one way, then all of a sudden they rip the rug out from under you and tell you to learn how to play an entirely different way.
some other things that could be talked about: Ninja: Armor Crush wasn't a thing. Poison Stances changing abilities. The fact that shuriken was better than Raiton due to clipping and poison buffs. Paladin: Tank stace was lvl 45. GL keeping aggro in dungeons. Sch/Smn: Being able to spread DoTs. Machinist: Overheat effectively silenced your abilities for 10 seconds afterwards. ST turret and AOE Turret. Misc: CC Skills did damage so they were part of the rotation. Too bad if you used it early for dps and a mechanic needed it. Strength Materia on tanks for damage, Vit Materia on DPS to survive raid wides. Elemental Resistance Materia existed. Chocobos taking up party slots. Also the fact that party finder wouldn't show that and would just error out if a party of 4 with 4 chocobos was still in PF and you tried to join. Odin fate would increase above lvl cap for every kill. Raid gear coffers didn't exist. Raw Gear instead. You couldn't tell how many people already cleared a raid tier when you queued in. The surprised look on your face when only 1 chest dropped and you thought you were getting 2. you couldn't enforce already cleared condition in PF. Fate Grinding for leveling was faster than dungeons.
In Amdapor Keep the devs had to add that barrier before the first boss because people would just sac pull to save time. Demon Wall used to have adds, and they were ROUGH. The general strat was to use the melee limit break on the one on the left (LB left bee). Those two adds are in Amdapor Keep HM as a tribute. Pharos Sirius had to be nerfed because it was so hard that people would bail when they got it in their roulette. They took out about 1/3 of the adds in the dungeon so it was more manageable. For a while Labyrinth of the Ancients had a bug where the last boss (who had a different name) would spam Ancient Flare even after everyone had wiped, so the entire raid had to bail until the instance got reset. Also, during the Behemoth fight there would have to be one tank on each tower, pressing the button as soon as the floor glowed red. LotA used to have the standard 4 dps/2 tanks/2 healers setup; Syrcus Tower was the first time we ever had the 5/1/2 setup we all know and love today. The Binding Coils of Bahamut isn't in the Normal Raids roulette because at level it was REALLY FREAKING HARD, about on-par with the Savage content of today.
These history lessons are awesome man! I started playing mid Stormblood release and I remember maining DRK and Astro, The attack spamming and astro buffing was so fun! I miss those days! But you mentioned soo many things I havent even seen nor heard of. If you think of or remember anything else, you gotta make another video.

PLD rez for those clutch moments when they could basically save an entire raid, "caster" phys range... "never go full fending!" is what I always heard. and the last time WHM had all its own skills before they became cross class xD I still have a skill graveyard somewhere.

I still have hot bar graveyards to this day. I will never let them go. Also, for idyllshire, the cool kids spot was on top of the stone in the middle of the courtyard. Only accomplished ninjas and lucky mount riders could get access to it. Master ninjas could climb the building with the pipe behind the aetheryte.

I love telling people about how DRK could crotch kick people every 1 sec because it reset the cd on a successful parry, which DRK could buff the rate of. Was it efficient? No. Was it fun? YES!!!

Is miss dark knight’s power slash. The overhead slash that ended with an energy blast from the left hand. It was just part of the aggro combo. It made me think of Guts’s cannon arm. Also, warrior’s tank stance used to not reduce damage taken, it increased hp by 25% and healing received by 5% (I think). That combined with thrill of battle brought about obscene hp pools for the time
Wow remember some of these man it’s amazing how much the game has changed over the years. Can’t wait to see what changes in next expansion. Also Diadem is still around it’s just for crafters and gathers now.but yeah I think I did the raid there like three times but I never got the weapon to drop for me.

Before they buffed dungeon exp and introduced PotD later this was true for HW zones too, I remember grinding in churning mists for hours

Additional point with old tank stances, in Stormblood WAR im particular was able to do so much damage in their DPS stance that they were able to dance between both stances. Tank stance for aggro, then switch to DPS stance for Fell Cleave spam and watch the WAR soar past everyone else on the DPS chart.
Wow, that Rising event with the Squenix HQ visit sounds awesome. I hope they repeat something like that again sometime. I missed last year's event, but I was in the one with the letters arriving in bottles on the beach, and it was very touching reading the devs' messages to the players.
If I heard correctly, they're adding the ability to replay old events during whatever the current one is, I imagine like New Game+, so hopefully they do it for that Rising because it's also my favorite.
We also had a rising event where we were teleported into a doom like maze. And you played it in first person.
RIP Shadow Flare and interesting AST cards. I remember the new cards by "the bad ones go to ranged; the good ones go to melee."
One of my favorite moments is saving a wipe against Midgardsormr as AST with three new people. Without Ewer's refresh, I wouldn't have had enough MP to get everyone up.

Fun fact: we are in the third iteration of Diadem. The second iteration had the Emergency Mission raid mentioned in the video, and if I remember right it added a queue for Disciples of Land

I miss DIadem 2.0. Darksteel Island was the best. And I weep for new FCs who need to build their airship+sub fleets from scratch without it. The sub construction costs were balanced around having unlimited darksteel access, and they've never given back a substitute after deleting Diadem as a source.
As a ninja player I remember being I charge of aggro management with shadewalker on the tank and smokescreen on whichever dps was getting too much aggro
I love being NIN. I used to join PF Savage and the tank would say "ILY NIN". Now I'm...I'm NORMAL like the rest of the DPS. D: T-T
Or shadewalker on the BRD for fights like Final Omega so the PLD could cover them for the first tankbuster mechanic.
or reversing it to screw with your party (if you did that on random pf you were evil)
I miss oGCD mudras. Having mudras GCD made NIN feel a lot slower. I miss getting the speed card and popping Goad to keep TP up while becoming speed.

Ah yes the feeling of refusing to let go of a skill. Back when MCH had its 2 turrets I named both of them, and when ShB took out my boy bibbles I REFUSED to takehim off my bar. Even made a farewell gpose capture with him before ShB released and we learned bishop was being removed. Please give me my son back square I miss him....

Man I miss alot of these old things. I remember for Dun Scaith I played day 1 and saw the succubus and thought "oh cool!" then i took a break and came back to this proto ultima guy and was like "Who is this imposter"
God, I love these history videos. I haven't run Dun Scaith since Heavensward, so I had no idea the handmaiden was replaced. I'm gonna have to go take a look at that.
The handmaiden is still there, you just almost never fight it because someone in the group probably has the proto-ultima quest.

There's not a day I don't miss bloodbath for my warrior... my healer friends loved hanging out with me because they never had to worry while doing DPS. They day it disappeared I died in a dungeon and they asked what happened, we all grieved that day.
I love these videos. A lot of people go into the history of FFXIV but they are always talking about the behind the scenes stuff. The development, what was happening at Square Enix, and all that. That stuff is cool, but this is what I would MUCH rather hear about!!! What the game was actually LIKE or the players enjoying it at the time. Thank you!! This makes me feel like I have a tiny little slice of the past to take with me even thought I missed these points in the game’s life. :)
Gosh the heavensward memories. Honestly it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows, but boy learning how to get the triple fellcleave rotation down was a fun time.

Love these videos. As someone who started in ARR beta3.... been here for each and every change. Time flies when you have fun.
I remember as a poor kid reading my brothers gaming magazine they borrowed from their friends. I would read and reread the Final Fantasy XIV sections wishing I could play. I wanted to go on adventures with friends, go through the story, and just get lost in the world of FFXIV.
20 years later, I became a tried working adult that had forgotten my childhood wish.
Until a funny video about FFXIV This is Basicly a Blackmage popped up in my RUclips feed.
Long story short I got me a gaming PC, researched FFXIV and what happened to the mmo, fell in love all over again.
Now I'm a tired but happy working adult who wishes to thank you for helping me rediscover this beautiful game.
Thank you Larry, I'm eternally grateful.

The fun thing about Proto Ultima in Dun Scaith is that it only appears if at least one person in the entire raid has the repeatable quest from idyllshire. It's entirely possible to queue into Dun Scaith where nobody has the quest and you fight the original boss!
Please keep making these. I started around HW then had to stop for reasons. Got back in at the beginning of ShB. It's neat seeing what I missed in that gap.

I wasnt fortunate enough to play this game prior to stormblood and even then I couldnt get into it at the time cause I had no one to play with, so this is an awesome peak into the past for me
I've been playing since like 2013 and I'm amazed at how much stuff I forgot use to be in this game. So from one vet to another I really appreciate these videos, Larry.

Stuff like this - whether from a video like this or from friends who played FFXIV earlier than I did - really makes me wish I got into FFXIV earlier, back in HW or ARR (or even 1.0) so I'd have that kind of history with the game.
...Of course, I don't know if I'd actually have kept with the game if I'd started it back then, but it's really interesting to hear everyone's memories of how things were, for better or for worse.
I got friends in my FC that would tell me stories about how the game was back then and I was amazed with how much as changed since then. One of them really wants that DRG skill back in some form XD
No one seems to remember the Warrior stun of Brutal Swing.. It was my favourite and felt SO powerful! RIP My Brutal Swing :(
Man, I miss HW sometimes. Miss the skills that were deleted, seeing Idylshire being built as patches were done (not to mention hanging guy lol), old Diadem (even tho I didn't do that raid in it), and doing the Void Ark raids, which are my favs still to this day. It was also the expansion that brought in the Au Ra, which I've changed to as soon as the Early Access hit, and have been since! Lots of great memories of good times in HW!

fun fact Squadrons still use shadow flare and it does a ton of dmg, I rock 2 arcanist dps and AOE pull, they melt the mobs, pretty fast way to level up low level jobs.
Arcanists are also the best when you're trying to learn a new healer via squadron runs. I'm over here, fresh level 30 AST playing 52 card pickup and my Arcanists are like "I gotchu"
Larry, Larry no, I still have Rain of Death as a Bard, that's the one with the red arrows from the sky, that fancy backflip one is Wide Volley. I still miss it, along with ring of fire and foe's.

As a 2.0 player it's always funny going down memory lane especially with you explaining this stuff for all the players who never experienced this stuff.
Ugh I'd love to see a healer that basically takes Nascent Flash and uses that as their whole niche. Imagine a DPS based healer that can cast a party wide-regen that stays up as long as they do damage

still stand by machinist having cast times was fine because the class was designed around it since ammo and procs eliminated them and rapidfire also did, just made no sense to have it on bard too
Agreed. That was my biggest beef with bow mage. It was NOT built for cast bars. In fact you spent over 50 levels learning to play one way, then all of a sudden they rip the rug out from under you and tell you to learn how to play an entirely different way.
Can confirm as a WAR main, I miss my bloodbath. That plus steel cyclone made giant pulls trivial.
Hopefully Nascent flash + chaotic cyclone feels just as good

This video gave such a nostalgia hit, that rising even was the first one I took part it, I still remember it so vividly.
Oh man so many memories came flooding back. 2015-2017 Heavensward was such a magical time to be playing FF14
some other things that could be talked about:
Ninja: Armor Crush wasn't a thing.
Poison Stances changing abilities.
The fact that shuriken was better than Raiton due to clipping and poison buffs.
Paladin: Tank stace was lvl 45. GL keeping aggro in dungeons.
Sch/Smn: Being able to spread DoTs.
Machinist: Overheat effectively silenced your abilities for 10 seconds afterwards.
ST turret and AOE Turret.
Misc: CC Skills did damage so they were part of the rotation. Too bad if you used it early for dps and a mechanic needed it.
Strength Materia on tanks for damage, Vit Materia on DPS to survive raid wides.
Elemental Resistance Materia existed.
Chocobos taking up party slots. Also the fact that party finder wouldn't show that and would just error out if a party of 4 with 4 chocobos was still in PF and you tried to join.
Odin fate would increase above lvl cap for every kill.
Raid gear coffers didn't exist. Raw Gear instead.
You couldn't tell how many people already cleared a raid tier when you queued in. The surprised look on your face when only 1 chest dropped and you thought you were getting 2.
you couldn't enforce already cleared condition in PF.
Fate Grinding for leveling was faster than dungeons.
In Amdapor Keep the devs had to add that barrier before the first boss because people would just sac pull to save time. Demon Wall used to have adds, and they were ROUGH. The general strat was to use the melee limit break on the one on the left (LB left bee). Those two adds are in Amdapor Keep HM as a tribute.
Pharos Sirius had to be nerfed because it was so hard that people would bail when they got it in their roulette. They took out about 1/3 of the adds in the dungeon so it was more manageable.
For a while Labyrinth of the Ancients had a bug where the last boss (who had a different name) would spam Ancient Flare even after everyone had wiped, so the entire raid had to bail until the instance got reset. Also, during the Behemoth fight there would have to be one tank on each tower, pressing the button as soon as the floor glowed red. LotA used to have the standard 4 dps/2 tanks/2 healers setup; Syrcus Tower was the first time we ever had the 5/1/2 setup we all know and love today.
The Binding Coils of Bahamut isn't in the Normal Raids roulette because at level it was REALLY FREAKING HARD, about on-par with the Savage content of today.

These history lessons are awesome man! I started playing mid Stormblood release and I remember maining DRK and Astro, The attack spamming and astro buffing was so fun! I miss those days!

PLD rez for those clutch moments when they could basically save an entire raid, "caster" phys range... "never go full fending!" is what I always heard. and the last time WHM had all its own skills before they became cross class xD I still have a skill graveyard somewhere.

I still have hot bar graveyards to this day. I will never let them go. Also, for idyllshire, the cool kids spot was on top of the stone in the middle of the courtyard. Only accomplished ninjas and lucky mount riders could get access to it. Master ninjas could climb the building with the pipe behind the aetheryte.

Remember when DRK had _two_ DoTs and more defense buffs? When Reprisal and Low Blow used to be exclusive to DRK?
I love telling people about how DRK could crotch kick people every 1 sec because it reset the cd on a successful parry, which DRK could buff the rate of. Was it efficient? No. Was it fun? YES!!!

Is miss dark knight’s power slash. The overhead slash that ended with an energy blast from the left hand. It was just part of the aggro combo. It made me think of Guts’s cannon arm.
Also, warrior’s tank stance used to not reduce damage taken, it increased hp by 25% and healing received by 5% (I think). That combined with thrill of battle brought about obscene hp pools for the time
Wow remember some of these man it’s amazing how much the game has changed over the years. Can’t wait to see what changes in next expansion. Also Diadem is still around it’s just for crafters and gathers now.but yeah I think I did the raid there like three times but I never got the weapon to drop for me.

Regarding Minfilia 1.0, i was lucky enough to notice it since i've been watching alot of 1.0 videos & documentary. But Diadem area do make a comeback and become the region to level up DoL to lvl 80 xD
Anyone remember waiting hours and hours for the required fates(at the time) to spawn for Crystal Tower and Hildebrand side quests?
I definitely remember the FATEs for Crystal Tower. That was why I initially dropped the unlock for it, seemed a bit daunting to me as a newcomer
I remember being a part of a group that was watching for those FATEs so that a pair of streamers could get them done quickly while still doing other content on stream. Not fun times
