Daniel von Bargen, who portrayed Mr. Kruger, died in 2015, aged 64, after a long illness. The latter years of von Bargen''s life were extremely sad including diabetes, a leg amputation, and shooting himself in the temple in a suicide attempt. At the time, von Bargen remarked "I have no children and no life, and I'm tired" When he gets to Heaven, I hope his first words are: "I find your belief system fascinating" 😂 Meanwhile, the epitaph on his memorial reads "I'm not too worried about it". Daniel von Bargen was so funny as Mr. Krueger in Seinfeld, and as Commandant Spangler in Malcolm in the middle. Bless his heart for all the laughs. RIP.
Truly heart breaking, Malcolm in the middle will always have a place in my heart because I'm the same age as those boys. I treasure those times and I'll miss them dearly I wish I wasn't such a troubled youth.
I love just how quickly T-Bone takes a bizarre pride in his new nickname (13:35) and how quickly Coco joins in the chanting culture (15:24). I get that the joke is that Kruger is the boss version of George the employee, but the whole company is just as crazy and incompetent as he is.
I wish he was on the whole series. He stole every scene. As awesome as David Puddy was/is Kruger was just a little more to me. He even stole the scene at Festivitis with Geroge's dad and Kramer
Daniel von Bargen who was great here suffered from Diabetes , lost a foot. He shot himself in the head and missed. He temple shot, missed the brain and made himself blind. There is a tragic 911 call. He died a few years later, thankfully. He was a good actor.
This is part of what made Seinfeld great. So many side characters that were actually funny. It would have been hard focusing on just four characters all of the time as the only funny ones.
Is this just from one season or the entire series? If it's the entire series, I'm surprised all scenes with Kruger only amount to a little over 15 minutes!
This might be a good place to post this and see how other people feel. I am a huge fan of the show, I think it might be the best sitcom of all time. I have NO COMPLAINTS. But IF IF IF I had to pick one time that the writers missed an opportunity to get some more mileage out of a guest star (something they did so many times), I think it was Gordon Jump's character as George's boss at PlayNow. I thought Kruger was funny, don't get me wrong- but I thought they left a lot of meat on the bone by discontinuing that storyline so quickly.
He was definitely one of George's best bosses. Rick Levitan was a pompous a--, Steinbrenner was insane, Lipman sucked (fired George just for having sex with the cleaning woman), Gordon Jump at Playnow was pretty decent too.
The makeup and wardrobe people at NBC tried to make Julia Louis Dreyfus look ugly but not even LucasFilm and Industrial Light and Magic could pull off that feat of engineering. She's still adorable even after a 7 hour "sfvitz"
He only had 15 minutes of actual air time on the series, but he stole every scene and made a huge impact.

It’s a real shame what happened to the actor that played Kruger. Probably one of the most depressing things I’ve ever read.
Don’t you dare forget Mr Bookman the library cop!
