OMG!!! bhahaha... my son has asthma and when he was 6 he sucked on a cup and turned his lips and mouth blue! I had no idea and we spent 5 hours in the ER as the doctors tried to figure out what was wrong with him. The doc finally asked, 'did you suck a glass up against your mouth?" he said.. "yea".. case solved! To darn funny! Peace ~Lisa
my mother drinks from a favorite cafe mug but with a straw because an Ikea glass exploded on someone's mouth in China about a month ago. I hope they have ceramic mugs in the apartment. #mutilation
Omg! You guys flaked out after waiting all that time! Believe me....the NYC fireworks are worth the wait and crowds! So awesome. Sorry you didn't stay to see them!
I used to play music for a local "gateway club" a social group of children and young adults with Trisomy 21. They would ballroom and Jazz dance for us. Simply wonderful to watch. Eve reminds me of all that fun.
I don't blame you! I'm not a crowd person myself. Sometimes I think I'd like to be in NYC for new years eve, and then I think, "but the crowds!" Love the dancing- your family is beautiful!
+JE New York I was thinking the same thing. She was so soooo shy and unsure when they first brought her home. She has TOTALLY blossomed into one beautiful lucky little girl....as well as all of the family for that matter. 😊
Eve is adorable and great little dancer! Did she dance when you first got her? I wondered if that is how she kept herself entertained in the orphanage? We avoided fireworks here. One of my dogs is 14 years old now and has panic attacks at the sound of gunfire of fireworks now.
Eve may have saved the whole family from a really unnecessary situation especially if they had already done Disney World fireworks. I don't really feel the NYC fireworks are a very patriotic experience.
1. The 4th of July crowd at LIC is the worst. It was a smart move to turn back home! 2. Eve should totally join a ballet/dance class while she's in NY. There are great groupon deals for LIC. It would be a fun activity for her, while the older kids romp around NY! 3. Instead of Chinese takeout, it would be a worth while experience to take the family out for dimsum. There are pretty great dimsum restaurants in Queens and Manhattan. You''ll have to rely on Daniel and Esther when it comes to hailing down a cart and ordering the food, but I think it would be a fun experience for everyone!
About fell out of my chair laughing at Peter and sucking on the glass. You really do not suck at this. You guys are tuned in to your kids and could see it was not going to work I have seen plenty of parents forcing the issue and then all are miserable.
I'm dancing around the house like a maniac with this weird song in my head. I wondered where this came from and I realized it's the song e kids are dancing to in your video. Thanks Knorpps for making me weirder than usual!
Eve is the best! I could see her being a professional dancer someday. she's got those moves down!!! I also want to say I am very jealous because she dances better than me and I am going to be 27 this month. I need dance lessons from her!!!
I am glad you guys left. I was there two years ago. I live in the city and I couldn't handle the crowd. I am on a trip abroad but wish I was in the city so I could run in to your beautiful family! #squadgoal
You can't hack it! Crowds are overwhelming. Europe will be a huge breath of fresh air... everywhere! Very few cities are as crazy. This story tells a lot about your family and your soul.
Let's have a ride: Sweden...Sundsvall, Gavle, Goteborg and maybe Malmo... rolling into Oulu and Tampere in Finland. Even Stockholm and Helsinki may have 1/100th of the people in Philly or Chicago, SF, LA, London or NY. Since they're going to France... Strassbourg, Paris... yes, Paris (though I would never live there)... Lille, Amiens, Reims, Rouen and all the towns by the river, Bordeaux. I would avoid Marseille but not Nice. Bayonne, Tarbes, Pau and Toulousse in the Southeast. From Brest to La Rochelle... In Belgium Bruges and Gant. Just any place in the Netherlands, ports being an exception. In Germany just avoid the really industrial and large cities and you have a wonderful country, especially in all of the Bavarian region... so many cities and towns to name. The only place I would avoid in Spain would be Madrid but not its gorgeous surroundings. La Mancha could be home forever. Same for Portugal, where I wouldn't avoid Lisbon. Zürich and Bern would be out on my map for Switzerland. Italy is game for most of the country, although I'd just visit Rome (you need years to understand this city which is the most interesting place in the world or a very convoluted place to visit) and Milano. Napoli is a one-morning thing if you're not culturally inclined. The rest is fantastic, almost anywhere you go north or south or the Islands. Poland is a little bit different. So many remnants of the Soviet architecture destroyed many cities, but it's a country full of history and amazing countryside, lakes, and towns. The Czech Republic, same thing, so as for Slovakia, but still wonderful towns, countryside, rivers, lakes and forests, and tons of History. Don't know about Romania and Bulgaria, but Hungary, Bosnia, Serbia, and Croatia are amazing, just stay away from the old industrial Soviet towns. Their capitals have a lot to learn from.Slovenia and Greece are awesome places to travel around. Of course, there are some not so nice spots. But much better than almost anywhere in the world. Ireland and the UK offer massive beauty and some of the most unforgettable views and scenery in the world. So, yes, all in all, I would avoid ANY city in the US that may be 100, 200 years old, and dive into the mysteries of our History without the crowds. Just think about this: Chicago was around 1000 people in 1830. Now, it's 3 million. Bologna founded the first University around 1080 and has less than half a million in population. I mean, Europe is huge in the number of countries, History, and many other things and it's the result of thousands of years of culture. Few ugly overcrowded cities and a way to learn about the world as no other place on Earth.
I guess it depends on which cities you visit and on which days. I live in Rotterdam, the Netherlands and it can definitly be as crowded or more as in this video when there are things happening like fireworks or national days or important sport events. Same in cities I visited like, Amsterdam, London, Prague, Venice. It also depends if its on summerholidays. I didn't even see them really walking in between people on this video. It could have happend on their way back if they stayed I guess. But isn't that part of the fun. Though I don't know what I would do if I had 9 kids or kids with special needs, that's a different situation. But I do feel that it can be very crowded in cities in Europe in the summer and also the streets are more narrow. It seems like you just avoided the really big and crowded cities or certain crowded events.
Also in their other video's when it's not 4th of july it really doesn't seem very busy to me for a city. Just normal or even calm. Especially the trainstations. It is always busy on the trams/underground in Rotterdam. So I guess it also depends on what you're used to.
I'm talking large cities. NY doesn't compare to what you just named. The same things you just listed can be accounted for in small American cities but if you are going to visit somewhere the same scale as NY you are going to see more crowds and tourists.
It was the same way on Canada Day on the Parliament Hill; we didn't even bother going as the lines to get in were a few hours long and the weather was awful! We enjoyed a quiet night in anyways :)
Note to self, don't suck on a glass..... Thanks for sharing another great video guys! Oh, and I would have left as well. Crowds make my skin itch. yucky.
wow. trimming the beard took YEARS off Michael! he looks like such a young urban guy, he seems so relaxed and cool. I can't imagine that crowd with all your kids. it would feel very intimidating to me.
Pearl's hair really looks nice! And a great length! "Mam and Dad" your hair, and dads beard looks very classy! Thumbs up to you and your family! We can't wait to have you here in Ireland! We are in Galway, and I hope you'll let us know when you are here! God bless all of you! Slan abhille! (You're going to LOVE the West of Ireland !)
there's not much to do in NYC. It gets hyped by the local sponsored content press - politicians tweet as if this is their achievement. I guess it is good advertising for the city but like so much else about NYC - other places do it just as well if not better but just don't hype it.
I Love your vlogs. You guys are amazing. I did the New Years Eve firework in London a couple years back and as awesome the firework was, I'm not sure I would do it again. The way home was horrible. We were stuck in this huge crowd, there was only one way to go, no underground running and it took us forever to get to the next train station (were we had to sleep because the next train home was at 9 isch and not like we thought at 5!) But after spending 6 month in India, crowds don't seem so huge anymore ;) A good night from germany
So many thoughts...cute hair Megan😊, cute dancing, argh...glass face... 🤗 Seems like the back pack seat things working out okay??? I would leave the crowds...not a fan of crowds either. Had friends in NY for new years ...they stayed in their apartment and watched the fireworks on TV 😆
Miss Eve and her dancing!! Wonder if Sarah could work with her using dance. They could both learn dance on RUclips and also use it for communicating and bonding with one another.
Our family does not do well with crowds either! Our 10 year old son with special needs really can't handle being around a ton of people...not to mention the rest of us dont love it either. Still a fun day though!
I love my city of Milwaukees fireworks show. A lot of people come, thousands, but I'm sure it's not as many as that come to NYCs. But they do it at a huge park on the lake front, people camp all over the park but you are able to move about and do other activities, and your "site"'is enough space to grill out and such. Only thing is if you want a decent site you need to get there at like 7am lol
+friezenfan - because our mic is dying. The rest of the day the mic wasn't working but we didn't know that until I went to edit it today! 😒 We ordered a new mic this afternoon!
How long have you been doing your RUclips channel? We are a family of eight also homeschooling, unschooling, traveling, in a rv and have adopted five children after having five of our own 🙂
How do you find accommodation in cities?? Im doing work experience in London maybe but i cant find anywhere to stay near the place for an affordable amount😪
Malia Knight You might find some Airbnbs offer monthly rates, Youth Hostelling Association or YWCA or Couchsurfing.com or maybe Helpx where you help inxchange for room and board. Hope that helps good luck with work experience 👍😀🙏
it also looked like a heat stroke situation and the fact that other people around them were staying put doesn't mean they should follow the crowd. A lot of people joined the Nazi party too and that was another terrible idea.
Good call. I did New years eve fireworks in London with my family on my sons 21st birthday (We traveled from northern England) Honestly, It was freezing, 4 hours stood up waiting, 15 amazing minutes and a brilliant atmosphere and then 2 hours walk back to the hotel because nobody told me the crowds were so big they shut the underground. Arhh. Glad I did it. Won't do it again! :)
The glass on the face.....made me really laugh!! 😂😂
Lucylowe my brother did that exact same thing!
Lucylowe So funny, life is such an experiment!😀
that was hilarious the things kids do lol
love family dance time. LOL to "this is what happens when you suck on a glass"
Never disappointed by this amazing family! Love your vlogs, and I really hope I can meet you all one day.
Eve's talking at the train station.. 😍😍😍 All the heart eyes. She's made so much progress!!!
OMG!!! bhahaha... my son has asthma and when he was 6 he sucked on a cup and turned his lips and mouth blue! I had no idea and we spent 5 hours in the ER as the doctors tried to figure out what was wrong with him. The doc finally asked, 'did you suck a glass up against your mouth?" he said.. "yea".. case solved! To darn funny! Peace ~Lisa
Red Devil Raspberry hahaha OMG noooo
haha
Red Devil Raspberry 😂😂😂😂😂hilarious
Red Devil Raspberry oh my goodness...too funny lol 😅🙊
Red Devil Raspberry what a funny story!! The things kids do 😊❤
I love your family they are so real....loved the glass sucking .......wish you well.
my mother drinks from a favorite cafe mug but with a straw because an Ikea glass exploded on someone's mouth in China about a month ago. I hope they have ceramic mugs in the apartment. #mutilation
I'm an adult and have no special needs, but there's no way, no way I would wait hours in the sun for fireworks.Y'all made the right decision!
Elijah is unimpressed by these awesome dance moves. Also, thank you Megan for the skirt and shirt idea! I am totally rocking that look this summer.
Eve has a fireworks personality
I love that all your kids have a say in what you do each day (to a point that is). You are really great parents coming from a mom of 4 now adult kids!
I love Eve's Fragil Rock hair!!!
Omg! You guys flaked out after waiting all that time! Believe me....the NYC fireworks are worth the wait and crowds! So awesome. Sorry you didn't stay to see them!
ahahaha Kylie Jenner like challenge gone wrong 😂
glad you guys weren't in Chicago
Eve is such an awesome girl. Love her!
Watching you guys braver the crows made me happy I stayed cozy at home.
This summer has been so cool for us in the NY area. It does not feel like July!!! But with the crowds, it's just as nice watching it on the TV...
I love the dance off Eve sure does dance with abandon ....it's funny how kids do that cup sucky thingy lol
Love following your family adventures, be safe and enjoy the new adventure.
Singing along with the theme song is DEFINITELY my ritual!
Eve is awesome, I just love her. 😊
I don't know if she would be as charming if she was raised by someone else.
JE New York I agree, she's a lucky girl.
One of my dogs is 14 years old now and has panic attacks at the sound of gunfire of fireworks now.
my oldest has autism and I feel your pain with crowds! i never know if we can stay or have to leave!
Eve may have saved the whole family from a really unnecessary situation especially if they had already done Disney World fireworks. I don't really feel the NYC fireworks are a very patriotic experience.
Same!
i used to go to the city almost everyday and now I can't even go for a little bit without getting a headache. good call. You look beautiful sister!
1. The 4th of July crowd at LIC is the worst. It was a smart move to turn back home!
2. Eve should totally join a ballet/dance class while she's in NY. There are great groupon deals for LIC. It would be a fun activity for her, while the older kids romp around NY!

eve makes me smile. I love watching her dance!
just came back from Harry potter studio in London now I can relax and watch your amazing vlog
I love that eve loves to perform and dance! Very fun interpretive dances!
Are you going to do a house tour for this house?
I was there also and stayed for the fireworks, it was cool but the wait was horrible.
wow how did you manage bathroom breaks?
too funny! I loved the little dance!
Thank you for sharing. I'm the same way with crowds, don't feel too bad, 3⭐️⭐️⭐️ for trying.
soooo... many people! I'd he right behind you guys lol. we had a quiet night at home with the kids too. love you all!
I'm dancing around the house like a maniac with this weird song in my head. I wondered where this came from and I realized it's the song e kids are dancing to in your video. Thanks Knorpps for making me weirder than usual!
I love that you are using the plum colored bag I sent you that says Knorpp and South on it!!! It's my favorite bag I sell!!! Happy 4th!
+Amy Pearce, we love that bag! Thanks for sending it to us!
What happened to the nanny?
Lauren Azua they said half way through the New York stay...so soon
Felicity Cook just catching up on the vlogs, thank you 😊
I agree with you with the crowds! I went to NYC last year and I couldn't handle the crowds. So I don't blame you for leaving.
We would have left as well. I can't do massive crowds like that especially with all my kids. Makes me too nervous.
Yay this is the first time I am being early!! 🙌🏻😊 Been waiting for the video
Eve is so cute and funny. What a little dancer. She should be on America's Got Talent.
We've all been there, where you have to quit while you are behind. They handle these situations with such grace, something I need to do more 🙂
Andrew is growing up to be such a smart young man. He's got a bright future ahead of him 😊
Eve is the best! I could see her being a professional dancer someday. she's got those moves down!!! I also want to say I am very jealous because she dances better than me and I am going to be 27 this month. I need dance lessons from her!!!
I'm so sorry that you missed it it was amazing I was there and it totally it worth it staying 🎉🎆🎊🎉🎆 and we left quietly and with no problems at all
I am glad you guys left. I was there two years ago. I live in the city and I couldn't handle the crowd. I am on a trip abroad but wish I was in the city so I could run in to your beautiful family! #squadgoal
The "hiccup" had me cracking up!
Wow, who knew that New York would be so crazy. I can't believe that you guys were there hours in advance.
Aww all the kids dancing!!
3:13 Haha! 😂 Definitely remember making that mistake when I was young. Seemed like fun at the time then you looked in the mirror. Poor Peter!
You can't hack it! Crowds are overwhelming. Europe will be a huge breath of fresh air... everywhere! Very few cities are as crazy. This story tells a lot about your family and your soul.
Carlos Martinez, what? What part of Europe did you visit? Lol
All of them are insane. Especially the major cities. By far more crowded than NY or SF
Let's have a ride: Sweden...Sundsvall, Gavle, Goteborg and maybe Malmo... rolling into Oulu and Tampere in Finland. I stayed at my house as well on the 4 th of July, hate the crowed freeways... Eve is amazingly cute!!!
Eve is such an amazing dancer ❤️from Australia
esther's SO pretty
wow. trimming the beard took YEARS off Michael! he looks like such a young urban guy, he seems so relaxed and cool. I can't imagine that crowd with all your kids. it would feel very intimidating to me.
Love love LOVE the music in this video

3 hours is a long time to just sit in the sun. I also hate the crowds and would have opted for something more independent for Independence Day.
there's not much to do in NYC. It gets hyped by the local sponsored content press - politicians tweet as if this is their achievement. I guess it is good advertising for the city but like so much else about NYC - other places do it just as well if not better but just don't hype it.
Eve is a hoot. Very entertaining!
Can't believe you left! I've seen the fireworks in NYC years ago, but crowd was not an issue because we were on a US Coast Guard Cutter :)
Lol Eve waving goodbye to the train :D
I would love to see the streets and homes of New York. Perhaps it's possible to turn the camera forward?
They are too darn cute. Love this.
I can't believe you left such an epic spot to watch!
*shrug*
Good luck everyone!
Lol, you need to get that chick into dance classes! She is so awesome!
love the party and love. love the kid carrier! what is it call? where can i find one?thanks
I Love your vlogs. You guys are amazing. I did the New Years Eve firework in London a couple years back and as awesome the firework was, I'm not sure I would do it again. The way home was horrible. A good night from germany
i hate crowds too, and using the bathroom would be a nightmare glad you left when you did
So many thoughts...cute hair Megan😊, cute dancing, argh...glass face... 🤗 Seems like the back pack seat things working out okay??? I would leave the crowds...not a fan of crowds either. Had friends in NY for new years ...they stayed in their apartment and watched the fireworks on TV 😆
You guys are so close to Toronto ON 🇨🇦 you should come and visit!!!
Can't blame you guys, it's going to be a mass rush to get out.
Dad keep the short beard you are so handsome. Love Eve's dancing. I agree with leaving the crowd
My goodness you look soooooo much younger with the shorter beard.lol
Happy 4th from Australia.
Eve is so adorable ....she is my favourite
Eve is so precious!!!! :)
I like the closer shave!
is it me or the audio at the beginning is kinda weird? Awesome family, you are goals!
Marta Valiente Guerrero In another comment they said that their microphone was dying and they didn't know and that's why it ended abruptly too.
Megan Richardson I didn't see the comment!! thanks a lot for answering! have a nice day/evening
I like the beard much better this way ! 😊
Miss Eve and her dancing!! Wonder if Sarah could work with her using dance. They could both learn dance on RUclips and also use it for communicating and bonding with one another.
We didn't go to Canada day either and my city is only 500,000 can't even imagine living in NYC. leaving is defo the problem.
tinha muita vontade de conhecer vocês pessoalmente
loved the video as always
are the kid backpacks heavy?
Our family does not do well with crowds either! Our 10 year old son with special needs really can't handle being around a ton of people...not to mention the rest of us dont love it either. Still a fun day though!

oh yay my favorite family! 😘
did u get ice cream. also did u watch the fireworks on tv. ? xxx
why does the video end so abrutly?
+friezenfan - because our mic is dying. The rest of the day the mic wasn't working but we didn't know that until I went to edit it today! 😒 We ordered a new mic this afternoon!
How long have you been doing your RUclips channel? We are a family of eight also homeschooling, unschooling, traveling, in a rv and have adopted five children after having five of our own 🙂
Yay new video😀
Love the new beard. You look so much younger.
You were actually in Long Island city. Far from Long Island
Sometimes it is better to admit defeat and get out before you compound the defeat. Been there done that.
it also looked like a heat stroke situation and the fact that other people around them were staying put doesn't mean they should follow the crowd. A lot of people joined the Nazi party too and that was another terrible idea.
So true!
You make me feel better I would have left too!
