I demoed this racquet and share the same opinions. I too loved the gen2 and was hoping this one would be more like that one, but unfortunately it’s closer to the gen3 and plays nothing like the gen2. It lacks maneuverability and I also struggled to control depth with it. For reference, my demo was 330sw.
Interesting! Long time user of gen 2/3, switched away due to feel and harshness on my arm. Demoed this plus the 100 16x20, and I love the 100! It’s more headlight than the 98, so more maneuverable/whippy, very comfortable and forgiving. Agree on QC though - seems like it’s all over the board with these, so used the matching service at TW. My experience is that babalot and Wilson are the worst in this regard, head seems much better as does yonex of course.
The 100 16x20 reminds me of the gen. 2 Strikes - more flexible and lower swing weight. I think the other 100 is not for more advanced players, but the 16x20 is since it is 305 grams unstrung. I've been using a demo for a full week now and really like it. I'm trying to ease up on the swing weight and stiffness of my gen 3. 16x19 strikes.
I’ve got the blade review coming out next. The short answer is if you want more power and a slightly crisper response go strike. If you want a little softer and more control go with the blade.
Right, I currently use a blade but i'm stuck on v7 because I can't stand the extra butt cap flare Wilson have done on v8+, need a backup plan in case it breaks as they're discontinued. I did get on with PS gen3 but got some pain like most other people.@@simmstennis
Do you prefer strike 98 16/19 over the vcore 95 2023? I love my vc95 and its perfect for my game but against a all-around better opponent i dont feel like getting any help from the racket. ( Yes i know its not the racket its the technique blah blah, this is a plead for help 😂) For context ex high level youth level athlete football/soccer, been playing tennis for 3 years with a good level coaching. I do hit alot of topspin on the forehand and a decent one-hander, good mover around the court but weak on volleys. Never played any tournament and my country does not have any ratings. But judging from videos i seen on youtube i should be comfortably 5.0. My coach/ hitting partner does not go pro but his same level uni teammate is about atp 800-1000 and i gave them a decent game. Sorry for the long comment hope to read everyones opinion on here. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@simmstennisi would say a aggressive baseliner. I do hit with alot of top spin and consistent forehand, i do lack winners maybe because my stroke are natural topspin strokes( my coach words). I do move well around the court but my volleys are very bad.😂 Mainly looking at the purestrike to help me generate more power and speed to send the ball down the line, and also with the defensive side of the game ( those spiny over the shoulder ball, and cant generate enough consistent power against moon ballers) Yes i tried the vcore 98, ezone 98 and percept 97 dont like it.

The 100’s are getting a lot of love this time around. I may have to try one.

The review we’ve all been waiting for 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Pure strike 98 2024 16x19? Or blade 98 16x19 v9 for the agresive player baseliner? Thanks❤
It depends on what feel you like… the Strike is more crisp and powerful while the Blade is more muted and controlled.

is the blade 98 16x19 easier to use than this? i'm an intermediate player tossing up between the two.

How would you describe your style of play?

Yeah, I think that both the Pure Strike and also the Aero 98 could be good options that provide more pop than the Vcore 95 then.
the SW is to high. I played the previous one and the last one I played had 318 SW, that was perfect for me
Yeah, I think they should bring it down a little.
46lbs is too low for this racquet
I agree. However I’m currently dealing with some arm issues 😭
