I think the 18x20 is better for more advanced players. Even if your intermediate one would gain better control and lower launch angle
This raquet tought me to outright swing the stick and raised my level in a short amount of time. Most reviews say it’s for an advanced player. I was a 4-4.5 player when I started using and now I’m closer to 4.5 aiming for 5. Not sure I am in the advanced category but I can use this stick all day long. Absolutely love it although I’m very curious about Tour98 coming soon.
Heey I'm thinking of buying the Head Extreme Tour and for greater stability putting a head leather grip on it, I have it on my Head Boom Pro and it has increased the grip quite a bit, should I buy a smaller Head Extreme Tour grip to put the head leather grip on?
I haven’t used a Head leather grip before but you can get thin versions of the Tennis Warehouse brand. This one didn’t seem to increase my grip size
What do you think about comparing restring and toroline strings. Which one is better option?
That’s a tough question. Toroline just has so many offerings that you can pretty much find something for everyone. Restring has Zero which is a lot of fun but will probably only work for a small group of players as a full bed. Sync is very approachable though and is my baseline string the moment. It plays really neutral and I can throw it in any racket and know it’ll work out pretty well.
nice video!
Thank you

Solinco Hyper-g or Hyper-g Soft. Or from Toroline I’d try Toro Toro
nice clip. curious what tension and string you have on yours. I've strung my 2 at 48lb with head lynx tour and go well. 45lb is about as low as I can go keeping good control / spin.
I go between 48-50 depending on conditions
What racket are you currently rocking?
The blade 16x19 V9
...But them Click n Go grommets is a customizer's dream!
True! I’ve been putting them to good use!
When you measure the point where you find the grommet, do you place the tungsten tape center of where that grommet is?
I’ll find a grommet that will allow me to center the tape at the point where the weight should be concentrated
How about a review of the Ripstick 300g?
I haven’t really had a desire to try that one. Have you? If so, what was your experience?
@@simmstennis Tried 30 sticks, best ive played. give it a try!
@@johnsmith-zf1fd Wow, that’s some high praise!
And it's a great platform to customize!
What's your setup?
Stock with Poly Tour Pro at 50lbs
@ so you don't use it then?
@ no, I’m currently using the blade
What’s the difference with your version from regular?
Heaviest.
I totally agree w you! I had to weigh mine up to 340g for stability.
You are not accounting for the change in twistweight, racket matching with lead in different position of the hoop is just wrong. You either put it at 3&9 (for example) in all rackets or you need to put it at 12 (no effect on twistweight) and counterbalance in the buttcap or in the throat
Bold statement to call this “wrong”. That word choice is “wrong”. Perhaps what you meant to say was imperfect? That I would accept. The rackets are a much closer match than they were before, as the weight, balance and swingweight match now. I understand the twist weight does not match but I don’t have a tool to measure for that. Almost nobody matches twist weight. Hear me out on this though, I’d be willing to bet the twist weight numbers are even closer than they were before the customization. Here’s the logic, the racket with the higher swingweight has more mass in the head. Unless that mass is directly at 12 o’clock (the odds of this are close to 0%) it would also have a higher twist weight. When I added the mass to the other racket and it wasn’t at 12 o’clock (therefore it was added away from the center axis) they most likely became closer in twistweight as well.
@@simmstennis fair point, let’s call this imperfect but it’s based on my experience of matching my own racquets. I have 2 pure strikes that are 4 points apart in SW. I have tried two setups on the lowest SW racquet, 1st with 1.3 grams at 12 and 2nd with 1+1 at 3&9. SW matching achieved in both setups, then tried on the court… 1st setup makes the racket feel identical to the other one, 2nd racket feels slightly less manoeuvrable on my loopy top spin forehand because of the weight location. You can feel it already with just 1+1, imagine if you put more. This is my experience at least, I agree that measuring twistweight is difficult and you don’t know where the weight actually is, it is unlikely that is all concentrated at 12 as you say. I hope I have clarified my view, and thanks for making this content available.
@@mancio-29 Thanks for listening and thank you for sharing your story. You must be very in tune with your equipment in order to feel such a small difference. I’d love to one day get something like a Yonex Precision Scan or Metortune. These will measure twist weight and even the weight of the right and left sides of the racket.

When you mention adding 3-4 grams at 3 and 9, do you mean 3-4 grams total and splitting it in half for each side? Or did you mean 3-4 grams each for 3 and 9, totalling 6-8 grams?
3-4 grams total. 1.5-2 on each side.

m a d3 college tennis player, and I use a vcore pro 97... and occasionally when they are being strung i have 3 back up vcore tour g 97s. Anyways a friend of mine has a ezone 98 for sale... and im curious if this racquet will be a good fit for me. I hit hard with lots of topspin. do you think this frame would be good for me?
It could be. Ben Shelton made that switch and it worked out pretty well for him. There’s also a chance that you could find it too powerful or stiff feeling for your liking. I’d say give it a try if you can.

Thought swing weight was 325 ish or is that when it’s strung 🤔
Yeah, that’s strung
Bought one after watching this. Feels great
My head radical pro has the same grommet issue as well.

How would you compare these racquet to the Speed Pro 2024? Saw your review(really enjoyed it!!) and your comments about it. I’m currently looking for a racquet to replace my Extreme Tour 2022, had the torsional stability it has(tried to solve it with lead but couldn’t find a set up comfortable for my liking). Interested in the Blade V9 16x19, Radical Pro, Speed Pro and Ezone 98. All these racquets are different(98 vs 100 + more control vs more power) but where options that really caught my eye and as I’m not able to demo them I’m really trying get as much info as possible to decide which will suit me the best. I can generate my own power so control + stability will be the top priorities.
If control and stability are your priority I’d go with the Speed Pro or the Blade 98. I’d say the biggest difference between the 2 comes down to the beam being thinner on the blade so it gives a bit of a softer feel but is also slightly less stable. The speed would offer more stability and a feel that is still fairly soft but a little artificial feeling.
@@simmstennis Thanks a lot for the info!!! Yeah, my brother played with the graphene touch speed pro from 2016 and liked it, but i don't know how much the racquet change over these years. Based on your comments and review i'm really leaning towards the blade due to it's thinner beam and softer feel plus the fact that i feel more confortable playing with a 98. Really enjoyind the content of the channel! Greetings from Argentina
