Somewhat important thing regarding the Friend: if you have the enemy randomized mod baby lizards and mother lizards can be randomly spawned without Beastmaster. I was surprised but it’s pretty cool seeing them in the wild.
Mother lizards kill their children after the update? I'm the developer of the Friend mod. In what conditions did this happen? I want to recreate it and see what I can do to fix it. (by the way, mauling does hurt the babies, but they have a slight health regen and maul doesn't do much damage. You'll have to maul them many times in quick succession for it to kill)
This is the second time I've gotten a report like this by the way, but I couldn't recreate it and the other person wouldn't tell me how they did it. Please let me know!! They're not supposed to be killing their children!!!
@@bdura2021 I did some more testing and I think that when the babies play-fight each other, the mother may view it as an 'attack on the babies' and kills them... Im not sure though

Nerd shit ahead: The theory me and my fellow modders have is that young lizards are victim to a mother's casualaggressiontarget. This only kicks in when she is at low health, like all other lizards, and causes her to attack nearby creatures at random. The only thing capable of bringing a mother lizard's health that low is the player, or... the blizzard. So they'll have immunity to freezing next update. Hopefully I can also make the children completely exempt from mothers' casualaggressiontarget. If the mother lizard was attacking the children even in arena mode, with no threat of blizzard, then this theory of mine is wrong, and casualaggressiontarget isn't the cause. Hmmm.

I have a fun mod recommendation! The Escort is a slugcat that, unlike some of the other modded slugcats, uses pure skill to destroy enemies! It can do a fun drop kick by pouncing after a roll or at the end of a slide, do a stunning slide which has some fun aspects about it that I'll let you figure out for yourself, unlimited roll for fun maneuverability, and has even more to be added! One of the newest edition is a semi-active ability called battle-hyped which makes you go faster and deal more damage while in combat! This uses the in-game tiredness bar, which keeps track of how out of breath your slucat is, which means the more rolling and dropkicking you do, the more the adrenaline will pump! It's easily one of my favorite slugcat mods, and it's going to have its own story in the future and, as per its name, will be escorting a special little slugpup (eventually, this hasn't been added just yet!) I HIGHLY recommend trying it out, it's amazing!

Hey if you get the chance, try out the Dronemaster, Sporecat, Warrior, and The Lost slugcats. I would also suggest the Nymph and the Hero(?) Though the former is kinda the same as Rivulet and the latter has been commented on having bugs.
The Rot-based mods were probably spurred on my an event on Tumblr that concluded recently- Tentacle Tournament, of which the Rot was apart of, having not only made it to the finals but won the entire event as well
as much as I know it's difficult, if the Rain World team ever creates a networking infrastructure for Rain World online Co-op as well as exposures for mods to use it, I can't wait to see what people do.
Use Simple Spawn Swapper and give the modded creature a 10% chance to replace whatever critter it's most similar to. (This won't give the mama lizard any babies to take care of but at least you get to see them at all without spawn commands)
man if I could mod I would try to make a armless slugcat it being unable to walk on poles, holds items by mouth and unable to throw rocks and spears but still being able to perform stab maybe it would have a mechanic of launching stomach pearls and make it deal 2 dmg lol

Sporantula is incredibly well made, it should be in the actual game. Watching it eliminate the Red Centipede so easily was marvelous.
