- Residents are living in fear on one of 'Britain's roughest estates' where yobs as young as 10 have been running riot and even ripping live PIGEONS apart.
Blakenall, in Walsall, West Mids., has been compared to 'war-torn Ukraine' after the area began falling into a state of disrepair during the past two years.
Locals are constantly being plagued by violence and anti-social behaviour and say they are too scared to leave their homes - even in the daytime.
Feral youths as young as 10 have been subjecting terrified residents and shopkeepers to racial and physical attacks on a daily basis.
Tormented residents and business owners are now demanding action following a string of incidents including arson attacks, fly-tipping, thefts, assaults and vandalism.
A local councillor also told how a live pigeon was even torn to pieces in front of horrified staff and customers outside a shop in the area.

I thought that, yes there's plenty of vandalised things in Blakenall but picking something out of Leamore isn't fair.
When you look back at Walsall over the years, its a shame to see how it declined over the years. People made the best of what they had in what where somerimes terrible living conditions. I remember a road near to the Manor hospital called.Checketts st it would have made Charles dickens raise his eyebrows.!!!, they had some terrible slum houses their that dated back pre WW1. I knew a family that lived their, but you know although they where extremley poor they got on with their lives bless them. Walsall council had lots to answer for, for allowing folk to live in adverse squalor, today sadly their are many towns even further north than Walsall that have been " forgotten" because in todays 'real world' nobody gives a toss anymore, especially if they take the attitude its not my problem. Society has let these towns diminish to almost total desolation. Very sad indeed.
