"A Gang Culture!" Woman Stabbed At Notting Hill Carnival In Life-Threatening Condition

- A heavy police presence is expected at the second day of Notting Hill Carnival after three people were stabbed on Sunday.
The Metropolitan Police said a 32-year-old woman was in a life-threatening condition in hospital after being stabbed during the event.
A 29-year-old man was left with injuries not thought to life-threatening and police were awaiting an update on the condition of a 24-year-old man who had also been stabbed.
Fifteen officers were assaulted, although none were seriously injured, and 90 arrests had been made on Sunday, police said.

The government has asked judges to STOP sending people to jail for now as there is no more room , that's why they are letting prisoners out early after serving between 35-40% of their sentences. Last week 150 prisoners were released on licence or on Tag and it hasn't made any more free spaces in these jails🤔🫤😱

When Carnival started Notting Hill was an area where poorer people lived. Only since gentrification has the talk of it moving/stopping been made. Now there are participants from around the world taking part as well as attending, hence its size. Police kettling methods hasn't helped the flow of the event.

I was a bit confused by your guest. He stated the the police involved in policing the carnival would be unavailable for patrolling the streets catching burglars and thieves. But they don't do those things on an ordinary day. When did the MET last arrest a burglar, a thief? People writing hurty words on line, yes, real crime, not so much
They stand around doing nothing on double pay
This event should be banned, there is always trouble and it cost millions for all the police to try and keep law and order.

Personally I find the carnival quite vulgar in the way the women dress, hardly a family day out.

The problem of violence at the Notting Hill Carnival goes way back to the mid-70s and since then we have had both Labour and the Conservatives in office, yet NEITHER of them has done anything about it, in fact, the worst trouble at the event was when the Tories were in office back in the 1980s when we had full-scale rioting that started at it, that's a fact.
You see, it's all very well pointing fingers and saying "Ah, Mayor Khan, London, Labour"...blah blah blah, OK, that's all good and dandy and I'm no fan of Khan either but let's get real here, NONE of the political parties has ever gotten a grip on this Carnival issue, they've all run away from it.
When Boris was Mayor, he had the power to ban the Carnival or relocate it to somewhere more suitable to give the poor Notting Hill residents (those that don't like it that is) a break from it and yet he didn't, he was far more interested in designing a ridiculous-looking bus in his name and glorifying himself, that's all he was interested in, creating a legacy for himself, same as Khan is now, same as Livingston was back then, they're all as bad as each other in one way or another, all for themselves.
The only time any Mayor or even more importantly, any acting government would cheerfully address it is if they believed it would get them votes and keep them in power, that's all they care about and there are too many voters who like the Carnival hence they won't touch it...and that's the bottom line whether we like it or not. I'm sorry but I'm just telling it like it is.

The cost of this carnival is exhorbitant and offensive when you consider the cost just for police attendance. It is not even related to British culture. It should be stopped completely.
