1986 was a bumper year for kusoge on the Famicom. To the point where I was worried I was coming across as too angry when I had a bunch of awful games in a row. Of course, today I'm playing a truly miserable game, too, though that video won't be posted until about October.
If I recall, the game was deliberately made to laugh at you. At the time, Takeshi hated video games and most technology, so his drunken ideas were made with the basis of getting people to stop playing the game and go do something else for a change.
oh man I actually beat this game by mashing the A button by hand for about 2 hours straight I do not wish any other player to experience that, I only did it just to say I beat this "game"
Personally I believe this game is pretty ahead of its time and would work wonders in the modern age ever since "ragebait" games such as I Wanna Be the Guy and Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy became viral hits My biggest dream would be to have it be remade in the style of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series seeing how Takeshi went to make an appearance in Yakuza 6 himself, could very easily recycle the head and turn it into the salaryman he plays in the cover, if only I knew how to mod...
4:44 excuse me wHAT?! and I thought Kojima had some wild ideas. I mean sounds about right from what I've heard about Beat Takeshi and this game how he hated videogames, and all that.
Kusoge are almost always a fascinating topic, thanks for the video on this piece of performance art.

A game that's a joke perpetrated on the player, and now perpetrated on us, the viewers.
One of the first auteurs of the famicom! It was so rare back then that a game had something to say

I love this game, I think it's hilarious.

If you're not familiar with Beat Takeshi, this game is garbage. If you're any familiar with him, it makes perfect sense.
