    in case you're wondering which hand is stealing your mana points: it's the left hand
    that's the one you should burst down first (in the video he does but doesn't hurt to say it out loud ig)

      Yea these are helpful but I think he makes it a point not to help “too much” as he stated in another video he doesn’t like the cheese strats. Very annoying when you’re stuck somewhere and there’s a very helpful piece of info missing but you trust the guide has told you all you need to know.

      I was wrong, or I guess the written guide I read was wrong. They do both steal your MP. But there is a big hand and a small hand. The small hand starts off stealing MP so you must kill it first. And although the small one usually appears on the bosses left, I have had it appear on his right. I always stay to the south so it wasn't a matter of my position.

    Use Reflux instead of electrogenesis to damage (220 potency single target) and apply heavy +40% to the hands to help keep them away. You still want to bristle before the hands spawn.

    • @rahuiru
      @rahuiru 5 месяцев назад

      Thanks for the tips, I did couple of times and my experience is to have bristle before the 1st hand, and saved my swiftcast and used the 2nd bristle for the 2nd hand, and killed the 2nd hand before it started pounding the floor. It was just so close.

    Important note. Both hands drain MP. The small one does it first.
    Ok, I've spent a week trying to clear this one. There was some bad rng and even a possible glitch at one point, but most of it had to do with mistakes on my part. The glitch I encountered was in the first phase. He was casting fluid strike and I interrupted it. It wasn't even close, I interrupted as soon as it started casting. The cast bar flashed INTERRUPTED and went away. A couple of seconds later he punched me anyway. I guess it could have been lag, I really don't know.
    Anyway, if you're struggling with this fight make sure you have three spells on you. Shock Strike, Breath of Magic, and Surpanakha. Breath of Magic does more than double the damage of Song of Torment and lasts twice as long. I would start each phase by casting a bristled SoT and BoM. When I started using this combo I went from clearing the first phase in 2 1/2 cycles to clearing it at the start of the 2nd cycle. Big difference.
    For the 2nd phase use the same combo to start. Refesh BoM when possible. But keep this in mind, unlike the first phase, killing the boss faster can change its rotation. That frazzled me a bit the first time it happened. When he summons the hands kill the small one first. It seems to come up on the bosses left side most of the time but I have seen it appear on the right. The small hand starts off draining your MP so I used Bristle, a tincture of intel, Shock Strike and Electrogenisis. Most of the time that killed it. By this time the large hand is near the boss. I target the boss and cast BoM (it should hit both) then use Surpanakha 4 times. I usually had to pause after the 2nd Surpanakha to interrupt. This should kill the 2nd hand or it'll die shortly after from the dot. With a little luck you'll still have MP and can heal up if needed before using Diamondback.
    After making it through the pillar phase I used Final Sting. Finally beat it and will never willingly do that fight again.

      This entire set of fights (the carnival) has literally turned me off of the game entirely lol.. even after I beat all the stages I am still annoyed with it - zero level of satisfaction once cleared. Even with having all the spells some stages are just so poorly implemented / executed. I would have zero qualms not looking back regardless of the 1000s of hours I put into this title.

    My advice on Pepsi Man's hands:
    Use healer mimicry. You take a ton of damage on this one, especially if you get knocked out of bounds(critical health, you CAN heal through it once you are back inside the arena, keep ALL SWIFTCASTS exclusively for knockback emergency angel snacks).
    Use shock and a ranged electric attack(cast bristle before he summons the hands) on the small hand, it will die. The big hand is not as big of a threat. It mostly does damage. Cast one refkux for slow on the big hand, followed by Nightbloom( WITHIN RANGE of the hand) and Surpanakha x4. Make sure you have the main dude targetted during those last 2 spells, because you have to use flying sardine.
    You may get knocked back. Keep sprint and swiftcast -- angel snack ready to survive that. Eventually the Nightbloom dps kills the large hand. It will die around when Pepsi Man starts casting his big splash, so use diamondback as normal and you will be ok. The big hand might do some damage to you, but as long as you have more than 50% health starting Diamondback you will survive. For me the large hand died at the end of the Big Splash tantrum.
    After the hands, the rest is easy. If you have opposite polarities, stand at the edge of the arena, use flying sardine and Exuviation(cleanse) when mechanics demand it. The hands only get summoned once, so its actually easier than the fire guy after you kill the hands. The AOE parts where he makes water fall on you happen quite fast, so make sure you are constantly moving during those, it is faster than the fire guy's two AOE fire eruptions.

    1:26 I've added Apokalypsis to my rotation as well, you can precast it and keep it running through Pyretic for some free damage

    • @IndigoVagrant
      @IndigoVagrant 9 месяцев назад

      Smart. I used phantom flurry. I time it so it started before the Pyretic hits me, and then I execute it once the 3 seconds are up while moving out of the fire AOE.

  • @CeresAzalia
    @CeresAzalia 5 месяцев назад +2

    So, is the hand mana-stealing thing proximity-based or just something they can do from any distance or is there a timer until they start or what? You don't say anything about HOW that mechanic works in that regard, but all I know is the SECOND they appeared they both instantly took all of my MP and then I died because I couldn't do anything. Like, they showed up, I did Bristle and then Reflux on ONE hand and then BOOM, no MP at all. I got knocked back into the lightening shortly after and I was dead. It all happened within seconds of them appearing. There was no time to even get my bearings, strategize, or anything.
    Also, OBVIOUSLY this is doable, and OBVIOUSLY, it's supposed to be challenging, but I feel like the "Fluid Swing" DURING the hand phase is a bit much. I'll figure it out after bashing my head against the wall a few dozen times, I'm sure, but it's just a lot to manage. You're trying to focus down these targets that are going to take all of your MP and have to be killed ASAP, all while dealing with the slow 2.5 second global cooldown, and then still remembering to switch to a separate target to cast an interrupt in the middle of that, which wastes a tick that could be used to kill the hands that are rapidly incapacitating you.

    It is one of the hardest levels and I am finally done it. Only 30 level left and I will finally get Angel Whisper:) It takes time to get used to 1st boss and then more time to get used for 2nd boss. The hardest part was with hands with healing yourself, stoping Fluid Swing and jitting Right hand and also sometimes I lose attention when Fluid Swing or Throttle appear from 2nd boss. When 20% left I just simply used favourite combo: Whistle+Off-Guard-Moon flute-Final sting.
    I think the most worst part when you casting some spell and that Fluid Swing quickly appeared and you are not in time for casting Flying sardine:)

    This fight is a what's what of all the things I hate in FFXIV combat, no wonder it is infamous. Split adds that sometimes survive with 0.1% due to damage variance, tab targeting not switching when there are only two mobs and both are in front, patterns changing on the slightest change in boss percentage health, stupid jank things that end runs (like fish animation hits boss before fluid swing completes cast bar but still goes, ghosting buttons ending runs, etc. I would love to complete the stage like the video, but I will probably Bristle and Mantra Magic on the right hand. I love FFXIV, but this fight is jank AF .... but after a night of sleep and a little patience I cleared. Thanks!
