Wow Peggy I really love these nice big Balls here we go you do they’re just very beautiful I like the way you do That they come out really nice keep bringing them on I love watching you God bless you
I think this is the first time I have seen a Maple burl and waow I am blown away it's so beautiful all that grain going every road and direction waoooow I really hope Santa got you a bowl saver this would have been awesome to have a full set made from the one burl 👍👍👍
Thank you again for a great bowl project! Like your choice of wood, bowl design and yes, leaving it thick worked very well. Your choice of finishing sanding and products make the natural wood designs just "pop". Always anticipate your weekly videos as your creativity is always a pleasure to watch. Have a joyous holiday!
Love the maple burls they seem to have the best grain figure and I think they make the best turnings excellent job beautiful work Love the natural color
Lovely bowl and fabulous figure on the burr,I bet you are really pleased with that one,I know I would be.wishing you a peaceful and merry Yuletide from the uk. Les
You are absolutely right - beautiful grain and a beautiful bowl. It's always exciting to turn a burl with all the bark inclusions: how far do you want to go knowing that you can't put the shavings back to the log. I admire your work - thank you for sharing your videos. Warm greetings - Peder
Lovely piece of wood turned into a beautiful bowl. May Christmas bring you a coring system! 🎤One Way or another🎤 ...as the song goes 😉 Season's Greetings to you...keep up the vids next year. 👍
I am not joking! I believe that you could raise the money if you would just ask. I am retiring on a fixed income with plenty going out but I could find $20.00 and donate it toward a bowl saver. Just ask. People actually want to help just don't have much to give.
Thanks, Billy! I appreciate that. I don't announce it often, but I do have a Patreon page, if people want to check it out, I put the link in the video description. Merry Christmas!
Peg, enjoy the video's, especially the focus on your turning and technique!! I follow 95% of good turners some with more followers. Very few show technique your video's do, tool placement and follow through. Something I lern from and enjoy watching. Please keep up the great work, and you and your family enjoy a excellent xmas.
Great burl bowl. you can cut some wood out by useing a parting tool at an angle from the edge to the center of the blank not as good as a bowl saver but not bad, with practice you can get a good piece out.
I love maple burl. Now if you had that One-Way Coring system, You could have had 3-4 bowls. I am sorry, I didn't hear you add your Santa's wish until I had already mentioned the coring system. Maybe, Santa heard us both. Merry Christmas.
That is a very nice bowl and good choice on not coloring it. The next bowl or vase you do that has nice grain in it, try using a Danish oil. I use Watco Danish oil natural, they do have it in colors like amber and mahogany, etc but I have only used the natural. I find it makes the grain "POP" even more. I get it at my local big orange box store. Merry Christmas to you and your family
Hi Peggy that was a gorgeous piece of wood turned into a gorgeous bowl. I’ve been subscribing to your channel for about 3 months now and don’t regret It! I love your camera work and gentle informative commentary. Just one thing I’ve noticed....do you ever use a faceplate rather than a wormscrew? I’m not nearly as talented or experienced as you but my inclination for a piece this size would be to use a faceplate. Any comments?
Hi Joe. Thanks for watching. I've used face plates at times, I just always gravitate towards the worm screw--I've had very good luck with it. But you're right, as the pieces get bigger, a face plate would be safer!
Hopefully Santa has you on his good list!! Great job as always. It's a beautiful bowl. Did you have any problem with the And products glomming up in the burl defects?
Love your channel! Enjoy your voice! I wouldn't mind hearing some of the "noise" from the turning during the video - the silence is weird sometimes. Either way, my question is, why do you use negative rake carbide cutters?
Hi Michael. Thanks. Depends on the cost of the the wood and other things. I sell some of them in my online Etsy Shop (this one is not on there yet). www.etsy.com/shop/PFwoodturningCo
I criticized you on your last video for slapping paint on a really nice blank, so happy you didn't on this one. A beautiful burl, well turned and finished which really enhanced the grain.
I thought the shape of your bowl was rather unattractive with the near straight sides and flat bottom. IMO, a turned foot would have elevated the design and made it more appealing rather than a slightly curved "dog bowl". Also not sure why you spend so much time trueing up the sides when you turn most away. Your turning & finishing technique is a joy to watch.
Beautiful bowl....
Thank you for sharing your inspiration....🙏
Thank you!

Clicked the like button as soon as you said there was no color on this bowl😉. I bet a lot of us would donate a few bucks to get you a bowl saver.

Thanks, Rick. I got it at my local Rockler store...
Hopefully Santa has you on his good list!! Great job as always. It's a beautiful bowl. Did you have any problem with the And products glomming up in the burl defects?
Ha! Thanks. No problems with the Ack's products, they work great, it's mostly the dust that gets in the burl, which is why I used the air gun.
Burl wood is the best justification you can have for a coring system -
Exactly!
Love your channel! Enjoy your voice! I wouldn't mind hearing some of the "noise" from the turning during the video - the silence is weird sometimes. Either way, my question is, why do you use negative rake carbide cutters?
Thanks, Ryan! I use the negative rake mostly on resin or very hard woods.
Beautiful. Burls are so weird in a good way, arent they
Hi Bryan, yes they are!
Great job on the bowl, just subscribed.Thinking about getting a better lathe to do the work you do,any ideas ?
Hi there. I really love my Laguna. They now make one a bit smaller than mine. Mine is 1836 and they have a midi-lathe 12-16.
Ok,I’ll check it out. Thanks
I love what you do the wood turning. Just wondering how much do you sell them for?
Hi Michael. Thanks. Depends on the cost of the the wood and other things. I sell some of them in my online Etsy Shop (this one is not on there yet). www.etsy.com/shop/PFwoodturningCo

Do you sell your projects?
Yes. On Etsy. www. etsy.com/shop/PFwoodturningCo

Где приятный звук обработки дерева? Или музыка? Почему я должен смотреть мой любимый контент под непонятную мне балтавню на непонятном мне языке ?
Thanks for watching.
Color it plz.
Ha! Can't lie, I was tempted.
Good job 👌
Thanks very much! :-)
